Arrived at the UHaul location 15 minutes ahead of our reservation time. We were paying movers $85 an hour. Our UHaul was nowhere to be found. No keys in the lockbox. I called the local number provided by UHaul’s 24/7 truck pickup app. After calling 6 consecutive times and being ignored for 25 minutes, Aaron (last name unknown) FINALLY answered. He was able to contact the onsite manger who located our truck hidden inside the locked area we had no access to. No apologies were made, keys were literally thrown at us, and we were told how she wasn’t being paid for this time and how inconvenient we were to HER!! This was a horrible, stressful and expensive experience. Moving isn’t fun and this particular UHaul location made it even worse. So glad this is finally over.

U-Haul trucks and trailers need a better way to tie things down, the opening in the side rails is to small to get a tie down strap or a rope in.

Equipment was clean but old and loud and rusty. Hard to close and latch. People on staff were slow and just told me to go hook up the trailer myself. When asking about insurance for my possessions, the agent continued to tell me I could not get it, when I asked her to explain what the Uhaul brochure was describing as "insurance for your possessions", she refused to look at the brochure and continued to rant on like I could not read. When I found myself running a bit late, but not beyond closing time of 6pm, she said don't come after 5:30 because Uhaul computers shut down. Right.

Excellent customer service. They listened to my problem and did the best they could to fix it. I still had a $4 charge for going over the mileage which I didn’t. But they did do away with the $50 charge for dropping the truck at the wrong location. Which was not my fault either. But I do appreciate they’re efforts in making things right for me.

The white middle age female employee at this location was the worst agent I have ever encountered, and we will never use this location ever again!!! She had no customer service skills, never apologized for all the errors she made or even admit she made errors. She had a major attitude towards me and my husband, and talked way to fast, no listening skills to address our concerns or questions, bold face lied to us, and most importantly put our lives in major danger by issuing the wrong size tow dolly!!!! I made our reservation with the 800 number. No problems very professional. I had to change the original dates due to a snow storm and again no problems. Was advised would receive email on information closer to date for pickup. Then the problems: I received the email for the pick up. First I hit the hot link for the location and found it was for Conway, AK-- not Conway, SC. So did not know if the reservation was done currently. Called 800 number back to confirm location and was advised it was the correct location and they gave me the direct number. Called the number and the lady preceded to talk so fast I had to keep asking her to repeat the information. I advised the hot link was not correct and in fact took one to Conway Ak. She didn't even acknowledge the hot link error or apologize for the confusion and me having to call the 80 number again. In fact I had several more questions for her, but she precede to say I see you tomorrow and thank you then hung up before I could even respond back with my questions. I wish I had the ladies name, which she never gave us, or had a name tag. She did advised they had the tow dolly only and she gave me the address and phone number where the 15' truck was at. She gave me the address of 8770 Frontage Rd East in Myrtle Beach at 843-448-7067, and when I called them they advised they did not have the U-Haul truck. So now Im trying to find out where the truck is! However the lady at this location was so kind and looked up the reservation and gave me the correct location of Coastal Storage & Retail at 7629 Hwy 707. So not only was the address hot link incorrect and I had to use my google map to find their location but the location she gave for the truck was incorrect. The lady at this location apologized for the error and was so kind and spoke slowly so I could understand the new information and location. On the day of pickup At Store smart I called to ask if we could pick up the tow dolly with another truck we had instead of bringing out the big u-haul she got all confused and upset. Had a tone and asked what was towing the dolly. I tried to explained we plan to tow the chevy behind the u-haul and was trying to give her the info on the chevy when she said I don't care what you are towing I just need to know what vehicle would be pulling the tow dolly. Very rude at every level, and if she took the time to find out the tow vehicle information I was trying to provide we may had

The online system for rentals is horrible. Given that you are charging 0.99 per mile- there is a reason I wanted a specific location. So when I receive a call that I did not get that location because they did not have the vehicle in stock, I canceled my reservation and made it for a smaller truck to accommodate the difference in mileage. I then travel to the new location to pick up my equipment only to receive a text 5 fmin before my appt saying that the equipment reservation has been changed clear accross town because they did not have the smaller truck in stock. I ended up having to not only pay additional mileage but renting a bigger truck then I needed. Not only will I not be using Uhaul again, I will actively be persuading others not to so they do not end up in the same predicament as me.
