I was way overcharged. I did contact U-Haul, who gave me area manager contact information. They can't figure out the charges as well. I went into the U-Haul office in Courtice, Ontario and rented a U-Haul vehicle without a receipt as he said he was going to email me it. Upon getting into the U-Haul, it was on empty when I picked it up and as we went down the road, the brakes were not working very well and the vehicle was very unsafe however, we were on a time crunch so we had no alternative then just to keep going I was under the impression that we rented the U-Haul. I had so many kilometres for free and additional would be charged to me. I understood that we picked up the U-Haul about 11 o'clock Cameras probably around 1030 at the latest same day You need to check your cameras. The box of the U-Haul is filthy. It looked like somebody had spilt or leaked oil all inside the box. Some of my furniture was dirty because of it I put gas into the truck upon return probably more than what was in it I purchased a bunch of tape that was not sticking and I had to go to Home hardware to purchase more this was an inconvenience. I was charged two rental fees. The amount of miles is incorrect that I was charged and also charged for fuel The person there was very Yea incompetent and didn't seem to know what he was doing. I had rented from Lindsay U-Haul and never had this issue and it was a lot cheaper. The vehicle was clean and in good condition however I was closer to this location for my move. Upon reading the customer reviews, I see that I am not the only one who has had issues with this location. I feel this truck had been returned and immediately rented out for me without them making sure that this vehicle was safe and fueled and miles properly documented and maintained. shame on U-Haul for allowing this to continue to go on at this location. I have been way overcharged and I would appreciate a call or an investigation on this location before someone else gets into an accident or has bad experience like myself. Again on the Google reviews, I can see they have. I'm not sure if anything has been done. I sent this to Donny the area manager, The area manager never did get back to me! No one did! Shame on U-Haul!

AMANDA JWe signed in online at this location as it is close to where we are moving from. We didn't receive a code for the key. The person at the convenience store was trying to help us before we called in, but wasn't getting anywhere. Called U-Haul and had to do the sign in all over again with customer services assistance. Our reservation was for 8:00 a.m. and we didn't get it straightened out until we went to U-Haul. There were 2 helpers that we were paying hourly for waiting for us. Our moving cart and blankets were missing as well. That took another 1/2 hour and added mileage to our trip. The U-Haul store was fast and efficient in helping us. Moving is stressful enough. These inconveniences should not have happened. We are booking another truck for the weekend of October 5th, 2024 and are deciding whether to go with U-Haul again.
Samantha BTrailer needed to be swept. Cabin smelled musty. Storefront location was locked when it was supposed to have been open for an hour, had to call uhaul customer service to get the lockbox information.
