This place should stop renting uhauls. I paid $40 to wait 40 minutes, stand in line twice, and have about 30 people helped before me. The cashier was clearly overwhelmed and kept telling me to "get the key online" which doesn't even make any sense. He meant to check in, but he still should have been much more helpful. When I move again and need to rent a moving van I most definitely will not come here. The van itself was okay.

I would not recommend this location. The equipment was perfect and return process went very smoothly, but obtaining the truck was terrible. I don't believe the person running the uhaul rentals here was even a uhaul employee. There was only one person running the rentals and gas station/convenience store, causing a very long line and wait time to accumulate as he was primarily servicing customers for the gas station. We weren't serviced until 40 minutes after our reservation was to begin. He then could not find our reservation and did not speak English well at all so he could not communicate why he couldn't find it, nor understand me trying to give him my confirmation number. All the while he was making and taking phone calls on his cell in a different language and navigating the uhaul site I assume. It seemed as though the person on the other line was the uhaul employee trying guide him through the process. In the end he refused to service me even with my confirmation email present. After multiple calls to Uhaul customer service confirming my reservation at the pick up location and contacting their employee there - who was not actually present at the rental station - they finally gave us a truck. Once I was home and beginning to move furniture I received multiple phone calls from this guy personally, not Uhaul, asking for my credit card info. Which I did not give out because it was within my reservation already nor did I believe the person was a Uhaul employee. However I still received multiple hounding phone calls. Upon returning the truck there was a different service man who seemed much more educated in the process and all was well. I wanted to share my experience because I am not actually sure what is going on at that location but I would never use it again.

It was hard to know the place was a U-Haul first off. We passed by it twice assuming it was only a gas station. When we went in, we waited 45 minutes (being first in line) while an issue was sorted out where the truck we'd rented ended up being checked out to someone else (thankfully another of the same vehicle was available). It took that entire time sorting out paperwork just so we could take the vehicle in the lot. It made what should be have been an easy checkout and move into something that felt like it took most of the day. The staff member did give us a discount on the rental, so that was appreciated, and he was very apologetic.

I rented equipment through the uhaul website and when I went to pick-up the equipment they were out but I was still charged for the equipment. Also, very slow service even though I did the express check-in online beforehand.

The ignition key for the truck barely works and is stripped or something...it took me like 5 minutes every time for it to eventually click and turn over. I can't believe nobody else has complained about that prior

Self pick up and self drop off did not work for crap! They made me wait 30 minutes to pick up the uhaul and they did not have the uhaul that I requested. No walk through. The uhaul is filthy and stinks inside. When I was there to drop off I waited in line for good 20 minutes and still had to wait so I decided to just turn in the key at register and left with out waiting any further.

Update how you advertise your pricing, when I did the online stuff it was estimated to be about $60.00 but when all was said and done it came out to be almost $95.00, and that's a pretty big difference. Please strive to be more truthful in your advertising

Someone had obviously transported farm animals in this vehicle. There was fur/hair everywhere as well as chewed up sunflower seed shells throughout, and a nauseating smell that necessitated driving with the windows down throughout my rental.

Broken driver side mirror. Difficult to see behind me. Wasn't posted that not having an in-state I.D. Would require 2 credit cards. Difficult process all around, even to uhaul standards, with requirements not listed properly on the website.

The van's tpms light was on from the beginning of my rental. In addition to that the van smelled like cigarette smoke and my GF said there was butts on her side of the van. Otherwise the van got the job done and the location was just fine.

It was the worst U-Haul experience I have ever had to deal with. I pre-booked all of my equipment online weeks in advance and showed up to the store 1 hr early before my reservation time to check-in. The gentlemen was the only person at the counter and was trying to get me my uhaul equipment but when other customers wanted to pay for gas or something from the convenience store, he would stop serving me and take care of them. He said his computer wasn't working and I needed to re-give him my information on 3 separate occasions. He tried to charge me over double the price I was quoted online saying the price would be $133, when I was told it would be $60. He also tried to tell me my truck size wasn't available there and I needed a smaller truck. I told him I had a guaranteed pick-up at this location for the 17" truck. It took over an hour to check in and that is with me walking straight up to the counter without anyone else being in the store. He told me I could not get my belonging insured inside of the truck and I called Uhaul customer service to ask about the different insurance coverage. The lady on the phone said she was the only one working and did not know. She put me on hold for 10 minutes and told me to call a different number to find out the answer. What is the customer service line for if they cannot answer a question about the trucks coverage? I asked her to have her supervisor call me necause I was so upset with how my reservation was being handled, no one has called me. After everything was done the gentlemen behind the counter tried to start my 24hr rental when I walked in to the building 2:20pm, not my reservation time 3:15pm, or when I finished the paperwork at 3:25pm. I argued with him and he put it down as 3:25. He was rude, condensending, and is not someone you want representing UHaul. After this experience I will think twice before using UHaul again.

Please let the manager know I was charged $80.95 and paid in cash the full amount. Then today when I checked my credit card account I was charged $68.43. I have my receipts for the transactions to prove the credit card transaction should have only been put on hold as the clerk informed me incorrectly that would have happened. Needless to say I am very disappointed with the U-HAUL I did my transaction with. I called several times to speak to a manager to resolve this mistake and keep getting a voice mail on the phone number listed on my receipt. I am very disappointed with the service I received thus far from Colfax Food and Gas (045488) 1895 East Colfax Avenue Denver Colorado 80218 (303)291-8490 please let the manager know I am waiting for the to be corrected.

The service of actually renting a U-Haul was extremely slow. It took me a half hour to actually get the keys to my U-Haul van. The attendant kept helping customers wanting to buy cigarettes and other items at the gas station before finishing my transaction. The location felt unsafe even during the day time. I will not be renting here again.

The rental truck was beat up. Cab and interior of truck had not been cleaned, outside was dirty. Fuel recorded on ticket was 1/8 tank more than was actually in tank. Agent did not take take time to familiarize me with truck, check fuel level or to check truck for damage. I had ordered two dozen pads but only one dozen was available at pickup even though I had called and confirmed everything the morning of the afternoon pickup. Told to go someplace else to get the pads. When turning truck in agent was not willing to take the time to confirm fuel level, mileage or no damage. Very high potential for billing abuse and problems. Will never use this location again. My third uHaul rental in past twelve months from different locations; I am used to uHaul doing much, much better than this.
