I was charged for an additional day, when I dropped off the vehicle on a Monday at 3:00 pm and billed an additional day saying that I dropped off the vehicle on Tuesday at 10:00 am? I called to the drop off location and the person answering the phone could not give me any explanation why and told me to call UHAUL directly. Poor customer service in my opinion. also the fuel reading says I dropped it off at half of a tank of gas. I filled it over three quarters full.

Trailer tires were bald, handle to lift trailer was broken, right light did not work. When I turned in the trailer at my destination they were surprised that this trailer was allowed to travel in its condition On a positive note-the trailer worked for what I needed it to do.

the drop off location was closed with its gate locked. for the safety of the equipment. I drop at another location open 24Hrs less than a mile away. guess what staff never check it in.U-haul threaten late charges for locations staff frailer to properly check it in.

The truck I rented had no gas gauge stated had less than 25 miles before empty.... I put 20.00 in and still was charged for a total of 9.5 miles of use....

This survey doesn’t really do my rating any justice. First of all! The pick-up/Dropoff locations were AWESOME! Above and beyond service! My problems are with U-Haul in general! Started off last week when I attempted to book my reservation through your app, then through the online website. For some reason, says I have account(which I have used your service before) but wouldn’t let me log in. Even though I attempted to reset/new acct process which was not successful. So I call the local U-Haul in Manteca, Ca and explained the senerio to the rep. She said wasn’t sure what the problem was with online and can place my request through her. I explained I needed a trailer at this Manteca location for ease of location to what I was towing, Then says ok, and process my request. Then explained that I would receive an phone call confirming my order within an hour, I double confirmed within an hour because I had to go back to work where I can not be on the phone. So I waited around for an hour, not working = not getting paid! No call. So I called back the Manteca U-Haul and talked to a different rep, that apologized for the misinformation and advised the confirmation would be the day before the rental. I also explained the issues of not being able to log into the online acct/app which I STILL was having! Apologized, but an apology doesn’t fix it! So when I did receive the confirmation phone call says my reservation was at a storage facility in Lathrop, Ca. Which is NOT what I requested, even though, it was about 15min further out, its not what I requested and another 1/2hour of my time be wasted by not working/get paid. Again, I will state! The pickup location was awesome! Now to the drop off, I was moving a car from California to Nevada and requested a drop trailer at a location in Fernley NV. There are two locations in Fernley but they confirmed drop off to the one that closed at 4pm and I didn’t get the car unloaded until after that, I tried calling the location for after hours drop off instructions I believe at 4:07pm but no one answered. I reviewed the contract paperwork from pickup and says after hours drop off was an easy process using the app, which would be nice if I COULD LOG ON!!!! I checked your website for the other location(MK’s Diesel and Auto repair, 155 W. Main St, Fernley, NV) says was open until 5pm. I arrived at their location around 4:30-4:40pm.. CLOSED!!! early on a Friday when MOST people plan on moving on the weekend! So ended up going back to the original location(Main St Gas and Food Mart, 605 E Main St, Fernley, NV) and spoke with the employee inside the gas station, explained my situation and she advise that she herself is not a U-Haul employee but would note down the Tailer ID and advise the U-Haul rep in the morning. Again! Great above and beyond service with the drop off location. You as for U-Haul itself! Need to look in the mirror!! I highly doubt, unless my hand is forced, will EVER use a U-Haul branded product again!

We ordered a motorcycle trailer a day before we needed and reserved one, they assured us they had one. The day we went to pick it up they didn’t have one and gave us a different one that was a similar size but wasn’t a motorcycle trailer since it didn’t have front wheel guides and a ramp tailgate. Because of this the motorcycle fell during transport and broke its kick stand. I am completely pissed about this because if we had the proper motorcycle trailer we were assured they had in stock and reserved there would not have been any damage and loading and unloading would also have been easier. I am completely livid and very dissatisfied with this.

The pick up location was quick and easy...but my over all experience was horrifying... it all started when I needed a trailer and after 2 different locations and mess ups I settled on a truck... (sucks cuz that's now extra money for gas and a very long drive from ca to wa by yourself on your family vacation...)the insurance doesn't cover anything but the truck... after the uhaul was broken into and over half of my stuff was gone (and I paid for insurance ) I was told that there was nothing they could do..they gave me an extra day to get it back after dealing with police reports and investigators...that was nice of them... but got a call that same day asking where the truck was...ugh I will never rent from them again..

There was a bit of confusion on our reservation due to online booking.



I was given a trailer that had the right tail/brake light didn't work. I returned the trailer after hours and i am still being charged for it. I can't seem to get anyone at customer service to answer. You keep asking for a review, I have been listening to a wrap around message to share my experience. GET SOMEONE TO ANSWER THE G.D. Phone. this could have been a good review, the longer it takes the review is going down as fast as possible

You did not have the u-haul trailer size available unless I wanted to drive two hours one way to pick it up. I was told the only size available nearby was a 4x8 which was to small. When i went to the Fernley, NV. to check if he had a 6x12 he did not but he had a 5x8 which was taller and wider then the 4x8's but he had to request these be put into the system so he could rent it. i had also canceled my reservation before going to Fernley so i also was not able to benefit from the $50.00 not able to fill my order. I think for a company that has been around as long as U-haul that you would conduct your business in a more professional manner. This is the 21st century. You should be able to track your trailers any where in the country. You also be able to fill peoples request for a particular truck or trailer otherwise what is the point of a reservation. If someone requests a particular size there is a reason so you make sure that it it is delivered and available at the location it's requested not call the day before and say oh sorry we don't have that or we have one two to three hours away. Get up off your ass and bring it to the requested location. Give the client more notice so he can make alternate plans and not be stuck half assing his move because of your incompetence as a company. You get away with it because there is no competition to make you strive to improve yourself and you take advantage of this and it's a pretty sad way to operate a national company. I'm sure this survey just gives people a chance to vent and falls on deaf ears of corporate if there was another convenient alternative to my move I would choose be aware that U-haul will not go out of it's way to supply you with what you need but only give you what it has. So don't waste your time making reservations if you go to your local U-haul and it's not on his lot and you call the other near by dealers and they don't have it you U-haul would not make any effort to get you the size truck or trailer to your desired location. They just leave you taking what they have and offer $50.00 for the inconvenience and no solution to you being with something to small to do the job. I also had to hook up my own trailer. I was given the paperwork and told to go hook it up and if it's missing the wire connector take one off another trailer or come back in and i can get one.
