I walked in to reserve a truck. The young woman behind the counter was processing my reservation. She turns to me and says, 'I need your card', and repeats herself twice. She doesn't say what kind of card. Turns out she wants my CREDIT card, but doesn't take it. Instead, she has me read out my credit card number aloud...in a public place, including the Exp date! Not very secure!! The truck had a clump of dirt in the cargo area. I returned the truck later that night, after-hours, and the trucks are parked on the north side of the building and the key drop box is on the south side with no indication where it is. There's also a 45 gallon drum and a 4'x4' sheet of plywood propped up in front of the drop box. Luckily, I'm a tall guy with a good reach, otherwise I would not have been able to drop the key in. The side of the building where the drop box was looked like a bit of a dump.

JAMES KGive customers the equipment they have reserved!!!! If you don't have the truck that is being reserved available, then don't allow customers to reserve it!!!!! Twice now I have booked a 10 foot only to be told the day before pickup that it was unavailable. Regardless of how far in advance it was booked. I was offered a 15 foot which I'm not comfortable driving. They would not give me the smaller Econoline style van that I asked to have as a substitute. Furthermore the only alternative I was offered was to drive one hour in the opposite direction of my home and 2 hours opposite direction from the location that I booked for pickup. I was offered a measley 30 dollar gas credit. Absolutely ridiculous and took advantage of me because I had no alternative and could not delay the move. I have been, and will continue to let my peers know about this experience to ensure they are not taken advantage of the way that I was. The location for pickup of the 15 foot truck was very friendly. It was not my experience with the Attendant at the pickup location, it was the fact that on 2 occasions when I had to move that day, you did not give me the equipment I reserved. That's the entire point of a reservation!!!!! I will not use Uhaul again and will tell people to avoid Uhaul for this reason.
