After a horrible start with another U-Haul location on US 98 North in Lakeland, the managers at this location were wonderful and completely turned our experience around. The manager immediately recognized that I had reserved a 10-foot truck, which does not have a ramp, while also renting an appliance dolly. She took the extra step to make sure we had the right equipment for the job and upgraded us to a 15-foot truck with a ramp. I was extremely thankful that she paid attention to what we were actually trying to accomplish rather than simply processing the reservation. My only suggestion would be to inspect the trucks a little more carefully before they leave the lot. After we were already some distance away, I noticed that the left brake light was out and the passenger-side fender was hanging down and appeared to be held in place with a zip tie. Those are definitely things that should have been caught before the truck was rented. Otherwise, we had a very good experience, and I really appreciated the customer service we received. After our experiences with both locations that day, this will be my preferred U-Haul location in the future.
