They had me write my name and number in a lined notebook. No reservation check. No ID check. No payment. The girl then told me to "go get a trailer". They had about 6 - 6x12's so I picked one, hooked it up and left. They had no record of what trailer I took. It was not until I had to extend the rental that I called U Haul. At that point I had to take pictures of the tow vehicle and hook up as well as of the trailer itself. If I had not called and been honest I could have kept the trailer forever at no charge.
