We originally reserved a truck at Nikos in Roscoe, NY. We picked up the truck and returned home only to find water in the back of the truck. There was a huge hole in the roof. We then returned the truck. He cancelled the order. NOW, we had to find another truck. Found one available at Super Suds in Liberty, NY. Could not find the person to help us. Called Super Suds, the man said you just have to look around, that the man to help us was there. We then found him, but the bank would not allow two large payments on the same day because of the other truck. Now we had to get the okay from the bank. We did that, the man redid our reservation, we paid and left. We completed our trip. When we went to return it in St. Cloud, FL, we were told that the drop off location was in Orlando. That is not the one we picked. We had to drive 45 minutes one way to drop off the vehicle. Very frustrated and we really had a horrible experience with Uhaul. I would like to elaborate on why I said I wouldn't recommend this location to a friend. In the past I have used U-Haul one other time when I was kicked out of the place I was living with my son. I rented the truck in Roscoe, N.Y. and the location was beyond helpful/understanding. Here we are maybe 2-years later but I rented from a different location and it was the worst experience I have ever dealt with as far as customer service. First, I did the order online and requested a 10" box truck and thought everything was good with the reservation however, I had to wait till 12:00pm to get the rental as per the U-Haul app. After waiting around for a few hours to be able to pick-up the truck we left home and headed to Super Suds in Liberty, N.Y. Right from the start (once we arrived at the store) we waited at least 30-minutes for the store owner to come and take care of us because he was attempting to try and run 2-businesses. Once we were asked to come to his office to get the ball rolling we explained to him what truck we reserved on the U-Haul application. After several minutes he found our reservation and examined the order. Then he persisted to tell us that he doesn't have the 10" truck available at this time. I was completely thrown back by this because the application for U-Haul told me differently. At first he tried to tell us that he didn't have any trucks available for us. I couldn't even believe what I was hearing because we waited hours to pick the truck up because the application had noon as the earliest pick-up time. At this point I began to panic about how we were going to get all mine and my 3-year-old son's belonging. At this point I am trying to scramble in my mind what we should do next. However, while we were waiting in the car for him to come at least greet us we noticed several trucks/vans in the parking area. I then asked him how that is possible when we observed numerous vehicles in the parking lot moments before this conversation. He then had to go outside to check the parking lot to inventory what he had out there. Once he came back in he told us he didn't have a 10" box truck but he had a 15" box truck available. He said it wasn't his fault about the unavailability of the 10" truck and the it was U-Hauls' fault. My husband and I had to quick chat about what we were going to do and we decided that we had no choice but to take the 15" truck because we are losing daylight to be able to load the truck up with all of our stuff. I was unhappy about having to rent the 15" truck because we have a small child and not to mention the fact we are still in the middle of a pandemic. The bigger the truck the more it cost and especially the gas money it will cost us. Once we told him we would take the 15" truck he told us he needed to make sure no one else has a reservation for it. I was speechless at the fact the he would say something like that after turmoil and panic he just put us through from the minute we walked in the door. In my honest opinion, that takes a lot of nerve to even say something like that after how stressed I was about the entire incident. That's neither here nor there so we purchased the bigger one and he asked how many miles we were going to use and I told him I wasn't 100% sure. He then told me that all he needed was a APPROXIMATE number because he had to put something on the paperwork in order for the rental paperwork to go through. He then asked us what time we will be bringing the truck back and I looked at my husband like OMG I'm not sure because we have waisted so much time here with this inconvenience. He told me that it didn't matter what time the truck was returned and if it was after store hours to just drop the key in the U-Haul drop box with no extra charges. Once we were finally done with all the paperwork and I paid the amount that he quoted us, which was roughly $118. Just like everyone else in the world some times life doesn't go the way you planned it and emergencies come up. That is exactly what happened to my husband and I and of course at the worst moment ever. We had a family emergency and had to rush to the aid of a close family member. Honestly, that's all the information I feel comfortable telling you because otherwise it would be a HIPPA violation. We ended up returning the truck in the next day or two with gas in it. From the day we dropped it off they were trying to charge us almost $400 for that rental. The company was never given permission to charge the card I used when we originally picked the truck up. The owner tried to say we used 256-miles on that truck which in my opinion would be impossible. Before we returned the truck he had left a voicemail on my phone threatening us with call the state troopers for reason at all. I don't know maybe I'm just crazy but why would someone call the cops if they have my physical address and they could have clearly came and checked it out. This all went on in the beginning of November 2020 and they charged our account a month later. Once I pulled up my U-Haul account I noticed they put that our total was over $400!! That is the craziest thing I have ever heard in my life. We aren't the type of people that try and get over on people so that we don't have to pay for something because that is definitely not how we were raised. We work jobs that are in the law enforcement field and that type of behavior would be frowned upon. This this day We are waiting for the dispute we filed to go through that way they stop trying to change us. When the truck was dropped off he left me a voicemail with stating we owe a additional $147 due to having more than 100-miles used and we were fine with that. The part that baffles me is the fact we were also charged $7.13 for ONE GALLON of gas. That is just highway robbery if you ask me. It's like taking a advantage of someone who really needs all of their belongings moved in one shot and U-Haul is the only option for them so of course they have to pay outrageous prices cause of people like that. I could continue commenting on my experience with this store owner however, we want them to stop harassing and charging us so we can move on with our lives. I hope people take the time to read this because it will be worth it to not get taken advantage of at a trying time in your life. Thanks in advance!ASHLEEM R.

I suggest picking up your truck during business hours because a few days earlier I had a reservation to get a truck after hours at a different location and the owner of the garage didn't give us our equipment that we rented. Messes up everything. Messed up our move out and in date, our time off from work and the special rate we had received. It was such a horrible experience. Customer service can not do anything to help once the business was closed. If it wasnt for the fact that U-haul was the cheapest around I'd have used someone else. When I picked up from SuperSuds during business hours everything went great. Owner was friendly and everything was ready to go.Oscar N.

You couldn't supply the vehicle I booked, you delayed my day by two hours and cost me more money as people who were paid to move me had to wait the two hours too. Your system is broken as there is or seems like no penalty for people who don't return when planned that has a knock on effect to the person who is meant to get the vehicle after.Benjamin P.
