I currently have an open order for a refund. I was driving down the highway when smoke started coming out of the truck and I had to pull over. The whole cab of the truck was shaking. I could’ve gotten into an accident or something worse could’ve happened. Then I stood on the side of the highway for 7-8 hours waiting for a tow. It was hot, I had no water until my girlfriend showed up hours later, and I got severely sunburned standing on the side of the highway. I was told during the experience by roadside support that it didn’t matter how late it was they would get movers to move my belongings on a new truck that night so I could start driving again early the next morning. Then I was told at the last minute that wasn’t possible anymore and a new truck would need to be loaded the following day. We had family fly down from New York to help us unload our belongings at our new house and they were barely able to help us by the time I got to my location because they had to leave early Tuesday morning. The entire experience was a nightmare. I will not be recommending Uhual to anyone. It wasn’t the fact that the original truck was faulty, sometimes those things can happen. It was the fact I had to stand on the side of a highway for 7-8 hours, was lied to that a new truck could be loaded that day, and family who flew down here wasted their money on plane tickets.
