I had originally scheduled an early pickup at Advantage Motorsports at 909 N. Main Street, Marion, NC 28752. I was unable to get the website to work so I waited for the business to open at 9am. When the lady arrived she was very rude. Said she could not help me and had a family emergency and that I would have to go somewhere else. I stayed outside for awhile trying to find another dealer with the equipment I needed. She proceeded to open the business even though she said there was a family "emergency ". I believe she just did not want to deal with me since it was for a Uhaul rental. I finally went to Marion Tire on Railroad Ave in Marion. They were very pleasant and helpful.
The woman name Sam who works there was absolutely outstanding. U-Haul's computer system for credit cards however sucks ass. I ran 10 to 15 you all trucks a year and I've never had this problem before I just ended up paying cash after wasting 45 minutes trying to get the credit card to go through because your system sucks. I guess if it happens one more time I'll be going to Penske in the future
Tow dolly I rented was not maintained. I personally had to lubricate all moving parts. After that was completed the dolly operated to my expectations.
The customer service was not friendly. I had to ask questions in order to get any kind of information. Maybe she was having a bad day.
Lady on the phone with customer service for U-haul was very very rude to us when called about an issue while returning our truck
The u haul truck was dirty and mud in the floors and the windshield was very dirty.i had to take my own money and clean the truck out inside and out I spent $6.00 at the carwash to clean the truck up .then right before I returned the u haul I sprayed the truck off and wiped the inside of the truck down so the next person would get a clean truck. I have rented uhauls several times from this location and I always return the uhauls cleaner than when I rented the truck I spent around 15 dollars cleaning the truck.but I felt better about it now
The tow tire straps on the driver side of the Dooley were short. If someone had a vehicle with oversized tires it would be able to to ratchet the tire down p . They are usable but in need or replacing soon.
Make sure the dolly is inside the vehicle. I was charged for it, and it wasn't in the truck, nor did they give me a refund.
We are still having issues with attempts to be charged for services we did not use despite emailing and asking for a call back from Uhaul. Very frustrated
I did not receive the phone call 24-48 hrs before pick-up as I was promised. If you say you're going to call, then call.
Sam, the girl who does the UHAUL rentals, is great. She finds time during her extremely busy schedule to help her UHAUL customers and always does her job flawlessly.
Girl at desk was rude and clearly did not want to be at work. She failed to tell us anything about refilling the tank when we dropped off, and instead just said â€œsign this...Here's the key...The truck is outside somewhere.â€
This was UHaul three point o. Expected the worst based on previous uhaul in general years ago. What I got was the best. Thank you!
The truck was well maintained and comfortable. The only issue we had was the wiring for the trailer. The only lights that worked were the indicators, no brake or running lights which would have been an issue if driving at night which we weren't.
First of all, when I came into check in, the young lady behind the desk, didn't say good morning, can I help you, I told her I was their to pick up a rental, she gathered all the info that she needed, Didn't go over the agreement, She told me to look over the truck for any damages and to x them On the paper, , I said to her, are you not gonna go out their with us to look at the truck, she said No, I have typically rented u hauls before on several different occasions and have had excellent customer service, even went out and checked the truck for damages, talked about the agreement, make sure to fill up the gas prior to returning, The lady, didn't say anything about the gas upon returning, it was almost like she was their to just take my money and basically sent me out the door after signing the paperwork, also, I also rented a dolly to move appliances, as I was trying to get out of the door, and couldn't because it was in the way of the desk, she preceeded to grab it and move it herself as I told her, I didn't want to hit anything that was in the way, So I had to move the truck forward, I had to put the dolly in the back of the truck, and as I did that, the brakes were grinding so bad, So I went inside to report it, she looked at me like she didn't want to be bothered and I told her the brakes are really bad, she said well i don't have any more rentals, the parking was all filled up with U-Hauls, ( packed ) she suggested that She can send me to another county and I told her let me call my husband and see what he thought, he asked some questions about the brakes, yes I was able to stop with the truck, but the brakes were grinding super loud, to be honest, I didn't feel comfortable driving if, so my husband drove, so i asked her to write on the paperwork that so had gotten from her about if something happened with the brakes I didn't want to feel responsible in in case something happened, she told me if I break down cause I did purchase the popular plan of insurance, she said another U-Haul would come and exhange it out, then She preceeded to tell me that U-Haul will continue to have people rent it, even if the brakes go bad, So as I got into the back of the truck, the inside of the the back of the truck was not clean, a lot of scratches on the inside that wasn't even noted on the agreement, she said not to worry about it, that their looking for major damages, So needless to say, I won't ever come back to this location, because of the lady of how she was behind the desk, and basically how we were treated...she basically was rush, rush and basically we were out the door..Not a friendly person at all...I surely hope that something is done about this, I would say she could use a lot of training in customer service....

Replace the woman who rents out the trucks. She has a real bad attitude.
I was originally told that there would be two trucks available in my preferred location the morning that I needed it but the day before I received a call from Marion Tire. Marion NC was an hour and a half away from my preferred location and when I called U-Haul back to ask why my reservation form has a Boone NC location on it I was told that the Boone area "had been booked for 6 months." With all due respect the reservationist should have had that information when I called to make my reservation instead of letting it be a surprise that I'd have to drive over 3 hours to get the truck and return to Boone NC. It's not the pickup or drop off locations that were the problem - the U-Haul reservation department deserves all the credit for this snafu.
They have always been very helpful and easy to deal with!!
