The person that handled the U-Haul rentals was an hour late and charged my card three times for one 15’ foot truck and a hand-truck rental. He charged me $193.32 twice and once for $208.32. The additional charges overdrew my account which caused overdraft charges.

The owner of this store in Monticello was extremely unprofessional and borderline abusive. I asked if he could tell me whether it would be cheaper to go one way or round trip with my Uhall. He refused to tell me which was cheaper saying that he is too busy to deal with that right now. Finally he made me pick my choice within the next 30 seconds, and once I randomly guessed which one would be my cheaper option he told his worker, "if he changes his mind, don't give him shit". Every time he opened his mouth he kept mentioning all the extra charges and costing me more money without explaining what the charges were for. I left that Uhall feeling hustled, extorted and ripped off. Then when I called him back the next day to ask how much more it would cost to drop off the Uhalls at my destination instead of returning them, he refused to give me a price just telling me "much more than returning them". I spent over $500 with this Uhall store and regret every penny I spent. It was the worst customer service experience I've had in my life and I will not be using Uhall ever again. I was cursed at, and forced to spend money without knowing my best option for savings. I was respectful and cooperative with this store the entire time, only to be threatened by them refusing me service if I did not make an uniformed decision within the 30 seconds they allowed me, and once I gambled with my choice, I was told I was not allowed to change it. These people should lose their Uhall contract. Their stores nickname in the local community is notoriously known as the "Crack Mobil" because there are so many shady drug dealers and addicts that hang around the store. I should have known better than to deal with these people. They are giving Uhall a bad name, and you just lost a loyal lifelong customer.

Kamaran Khan was slow, unprofessional, & disorganized. He also ripped me off for more fuel, at his gas station, than was required to return the vehicle to 7/8th. He forced me to add 6 gallons for only 37 miles travel, which moved the gauge well past 7/8th. Clearly Kamaran Khan should not be a U-Haul dealer as he is deceptive and I will never use U-Haul again, especially when Penske and Budget do not try to rip off their customers.

I don't know where to start. Hirebetter train reps who understand what they're doing over the phone. Have less belligerent managers at the pickup locations who treat customers like they matter. I could go on and on... horrendous experience

This is the "crack Mobil" in Monticello. The staff here are running a convenient store/gas station while trying to rent out UHaul trucks. They stop what they're doing during the rental process in order to help other customers. It took about half an hour for me to get the truck rented, and probably another 20+ minutes for me to get it returned. I would gladly pay a few dollars more (for mileage) to rent from the next UHaul a few miles away.

Reserved large vehicle (26ft) approx. 2 weeks before needed. One week prior to move date, received conformation for much smaller (17ft) vehicle. Too late to rent large vehicle from somewhere else. Now have to make move in two trips at great expense! No help, discount or recourse from your company? Everyone passed the responsibility to another, and everyone's hands tied. Unacceptable way to do business.

The service was below satisfactory. We had to wait for the associate to attend to convenience store customers, the phone, and my U-Haul. The associate casually asked me how many miles I expected to travel and we guessed about 150, he stated to me "I just have to put something in the computer." At no time did he ever state to me that there would be an extra charge if we went over in miles. If he had, I would have Googled the exact mileage. When out trip was complete we had driven 207 miles, and when we returned the truck I was informed that instead of 10cents per mile, we were charged 99 cents per mile because we stated we were driving 150. I could not believe it. Almost $200 increase with never any warning or explanation. I was so disappointed, and they acted like it was our fault, and this was no big deal. I will never use that store again for anything, terrible customer service, and total misrepresentation of the charges.

We rented the uhaul ,but I will say it was full of dust inside and the person in the gas station who provide the uhaul didn't physically come and show the rental van or show the gas level,he given the key for the rental van and told as you all set so I took the rental van the gas level was below the 3/4th than he marked ,I did care that part because I used it for may be 9 miles and it took less than 2 hours to return it,this time the gas station person made a physical visit and told us dust in the van should be cleaned,we told the dust was already there,and he told us go and bring a cleaning brush from inside his gas station (he is standing near by the van odering us to go and get the cleaning brush)so I went inside the gas station and got the cleaning brush started cleaning the dust and inside the whole van ,and he told to fill 3/4th of gas even though it was below when we took the rental van,but we filled the gas upto 3/4th ,so this was happened with us ,and the gas station guy who given the rental van was so rude.so next time I will definitely make a physical inspection before I took the rentals.this was the lesson I studied.

The rental agent doubles as a convenience store clerk so the service is extremely slow and he kept getting interrupted while I was trying to finalize the paperwork. Make sure there is at least one full-time UHaul agent on duty there please.
