Uhaul changed my pick up location and made me lose 7 miles out of my allowed 35 miles because the town of pickup was 7 miles from Bayonne (original pickup town). I had to pay extra money for that.

My only issue was with the communication with the U-Haul customer service team. I had to switch my reservation time due to an unforeseen issue but had difficulty changing the time with U-Haul. I spent thirty minutes on hold and then was supposed to get a call from a scheduling manger that I never received. The only way I found out about the approval for the time change was a text two hours before the new reservation, which also told me the pickup location had been moved 20 miles from the original pickup location.

The man who helped me was friendly and interacted with me in a professional manner. However, when we got the truck home we realized one of the headlights was out. I think he should have checked the headlights before giving us the truck.

Make sure to put the right keys in the car for after-hours pick-up! Not in the best area, but the owner was incredibly kind and the van we rented was nearly brand new and completely spotless.

When i arrived at the location, I began completing the check-in using the app when a man approached me asking if I needed help. I said I did not and he continued to stare at me as if he were waiting for me to respond to him when he asked again if i was picking up the van. I tol him I was and he said he had been waiting for me, that he worked there and that he would show me where the key was. I told him that the I would complete the check-in and the app would tell me where to find the key and he said that it would not and that he would show me where it was. He then pulled a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket that had a phone number scribbled on it and kept telling me to call it saying that it was th encumber for the manager there and he would tell me where it was. I tole him that I would finish what I was doing and if i needed help from him, that I would ask him for it. I then told him I would return to my car. I went to my car and attempted to finish the check-in when he followed me to to my car and stood behind the drivers side door as i atttempted to verify my identity with my drivers license. I did not want to pull out my wallet with a strange person hovering over me, especially to my rear as I was alone in a n unfamiliar neighborhood and no other pedestrians around with the exception of another man who knew the man that was talking to me. When I asked him to please stand on the other side of my car on the sidewalk where I could see him, he went to the van and he and the other gentleman open the drivers and passenger side doors and began rummaging through the van while i attempted to finish the check-in process. While i was having my ID verified, i wrote a message to the agent performing the verification that there was a man there that claimed he worked there and I did not feel safe in that situation. The agent just wrote back that were almost done and then that the process was done. The man then came back to my car and was leaning on my car behind me once again when I needed to verify my credit card info for the reservation and I again asked him to stand where i could see him on the sidewalk on the other side of my car. He then cursed me, saying that i had him waiting for me to get there and walked away. I recorded him walking down to the store on the other end of the block from the van before i left my car to find th key. When I got back to the van, he approached me once again as i pulled the key from where it had been stowed and he seemed surprised that i had found it. I again waited until he walked away to verify the fuel and mileage because i did not feel safe turning my back on the man who i did not know and several times refused to leave me to what i was doing. When i did finally verify all the info and was ready to leave, i needed to return to my car for my belongings before i could drive home with the equipment and he once again returned to me and i thanked him and bid him good night. He again cursed me and told me that i had him
