The electrical harness that plugs into the vehicle needs to be replaced. There are wires with exposed copper.

Kameron PThe steering column locks every time the ignition is turned off. Although a "known defect" of the "GMC fleet", surely the customer should not be burdened with trying to figure out how to play with the key to start the vehicle each time! Very poor judgement on the part of GMC and U-Haul.
