The RH trailer lights were not working when I picked up the trailer. The staff troubleshot and fixed the problem quickly. Their efforts to ensure I had a properly working trailer was excellent.

Explain that the truck is only at (in my case 1/4 full of fuel) and just how much fuel one might need to get to their destination. In my case was to Victoria B.C, small 15' truck, I figured I had better fill it, in order to make it to Victoria. So I filled fuel tank to 3/4 ($100.00). Upon returning Truck to the Victoria location there was still 3/8 of a tank of fuel ( $25.00 worth over my pickup fuel level of 1/4 tank. I asked for a refund of the 1/8 of a tank over the starting fuel level and was told they do not give refunds ! My past experience with truck rentals has been, the tank is FULL and you return it FULL ! I was told they only keep a 1/4 in the tanks because of theft and not all locations can have fueling stations. So even with a receipt in hand for Fuel , NO REFUND !

First off, your rental trucks aren't senior friendly, getting up into them required a crate, (the dealer had to retrieve one for us), to step up into the cab. My sister and I are seniors! Secondly, returning the truck was an interesting experience. Because this location is a car dealership, Uhaul is secondary! He would not assist us at all because he was in the middle of selling a car! We wrote the retuning mileage down ourselves! He responded indignantly that he would send us a statement in the mail! Is that any way to treat the customers? We rented the truck for 24 hours and returned it in 6 hours and virtually used no gas! WE could've used a Budget truck, as we usually do, and afterr being treated that way, I highly doubt we'll use this service dealer again! Dissappointedly, Mrs. A Dallman and Mrs. J Doran

locally great,however the guy from head office phoned and tried to tell me trailer wasn't available and then got rude with me and told me just because I booked trailer doesn't meen it will be available in morning that I had booked it that day not at a certain time?guy was an idiot and very ignorant.dont know that I will use uhaul again as the guy in Vancouver is a clown and needs to be schooled in customer service

This location was great but I had two issues not related to location or equipment. 1st the website didn't allow me to book for a day then didn't allow to choose multiple days. Once booked I was phoned to say they didn't have the equipment. Your people worked to find a solution but it required me to drive 3 hours to understand trip each way to pick up and drop off. This was the second time I had this experience in 6 wks

Poor dispatch policy, had to add 200 km to my move just to pick up and drop off the truck, even after booking weeks in advance. The agent in Port Alberni was excellent, however, and helped a lot to get me on my way.

I guess my only negative comment is, don't quote me $29/day if you're just going to add on a whole bunch of extra fees ("scratch protection", "mileage charge", etc.). How a quote of $29 ended up being $71 for 3 hrs and 13 km of usage is beyond me. NOT A POSITIVE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. If it's gonna cost $70, just tell me it's gonna cost $70...cut the B.S.

This is not relevant to this particular location: I reserved a trailer approximately 10 days in advance. Per the uHaul e-mail, I was informed that I would l receive a phone call confirming the pick-up and location. I was never contacted and assumed that the trailer I had requested would be available at the requested place, at the requested time. It was not. Upon my arrival at the uHaul facility, I was informed that my trailer would be available 2 DAYS LATER. This is unacceptable. I had a storage unit that needed to be vacated by the end of the day that I had reserved the trailer for. And I was under the impression that the unit was available. While at the ORIGINAL pick-up location, in downtown Victoria, I was told that that time of year (end of August) is the busiest of the year and customers get their rental equipment on a first-come-first-serve basis. This is a natural system, one I approve of; however, you are a well-established business and should have a system that should be informed of whether or not equipment is actually available. This is not a difficult task, and time of year should have no bearing on the success of helping your customers. Additionally, I was told that there was a trailer available in Port Alberni, which is more than a two-hour drive away. The customer service agent proceeded to say that "local pick-ups" on Vancouver Island may mean ANYWHERE on the island, justifying that I would have to make such a long, out-of-the-way drive. This response was absurd for two reasons--Firstly, ANYWHERE on the island is simply not local. I lost an entire day driving back and forth between Victoria and Port Alberni. That is not a local drive. Secondly, if anywhere on the island is in fact local, then why was that trailer in Port Alberni not already designated to someone? Why was it just sitting there, not reserved, when it was needed? If it was in fact considered local, it should have been reserved for me already to pick-up, that day. It was not. Next, I asked to speak with the head office. The gentleman who was helping me (who was, I should add, calm and as helpful as he could be, even though his "local" reasoning and justification were absurd) told me he put in a request and that they would call me that day. The office did not call that day, nor the next. Or ever, for that matter. I had horrible customer service with uHaul. I had not wanted to use uHaul to being with, having heard various horror stories previously, and my sister having one such incident a year previously; however, this is a wide-spread business, one that has drop-off locations all over, and was the only option I was aware of that suited my needs. But given this absolute mess (which, I should add, resulting in my having to cancel a meeting and class that day in order to drive an extra 500 km that day just to get the trailer), I will never use uHaul ever again. I will take more complicated measures to move items in the future if

Have the trailer swept and the tires must be in good repair as I had to get roadside assistance to put 2 new tires on the front and I told the operator in Lake Charles to put 2 more tires on as the back 2 are worn!

1) The pin to hold the ramp up was bent so severely that I had to hit it with a hammer to move it. 2)the customer service rep who called was completely unapologetic and unaccompdating when the trailer I requested was not available. If there was another isomers that would have been an option I would have cancelled right then simply because of her attitude and tone. 3) the on site reps at both locations were redeeming and were both excellent to deal with.
