We have been using U-Haul for over 40 years. I appreciate the good well maintained equipment, friendly courteous service, convenient locations, and equipment that is specifically designed for ease of moving. In all these years and about ten moves from short distance to over one thousand miles we only had one breakdown. This occurred on I-75 iat about 10 pm at a rest area in Kentucky near no towns. The starter motor quit, so I called the 800 number, and in less than 2 hours a new starter motor was installed and we were on our way again. Amazing!!

When I rented the trailed, I specifically requested the Ridgeway site since it is close to me. When I got there, they told me that the location that I was supposed to drop the trailer off was an hour away in a town called Nucla (sp). I told them that when I rented it in Houston, I wanted to drop the trailer in Ridgeway. The team in Houston, even got my drop off location wrong. The Ridgeway team was awesome and took care of me. The two women behind the counter were awesome, friendly and took the time to make sure I was helped. Hats off to them.

Again, at a late date U-Haul tried to change the return location to Montrose which is an additional 35 mile drive. I was told that the Ridgeway location could not receive the trailer. Obviously that was not the case. I do not appreciate this business model.

So when I did have a blowout I called this place because I didn't have my paperwork. He told me that I had to call haul direct. I didn't have my paperwork or the number and he wouldn't give it to me, he just kept telling me it was on my paperwork.

When we rented the trailer we were told we could return it to Ridgeway, all of the paperwork and text messages from U haul confirmed this. When I called customer service to get the address I was told by operator 204 that I needed to take the trailer to Montrose another hour away. She was rude and referred to me as babe. I called Ridgeway directly and was told to bring the trailer which they accepted.

Jennifer Reid spent several hours over several days trying to reroute me from my original drop off to Montrose, citing zoning issues and demand issues. I have a contract in my hand that says drop off in Ridgway, the closest drop off location to my destination. After having a very pleasant convo with the woman who runs the drop off location in Ridgway, I quickly learned that she desperately needed my equipment and that Jennifer has been rerouting trucks from her location for a long time. When I arrived, I quickly realized that the zoning issues previously brought up by Jennifer were obviously made up or fabricated. Thank you, Ridgway, for being such a welcoming and awesome drop off location. I'm so so sorry that you have to deal with Jennifer Reid at Traffic Control and hope you can get more trucks in the future. To Uhaul: treat your private Uhaul dealers better. Without them where would you be? The treatment I received from traffic control was sickening, but this drop off location is top shelf. I had to spend a lot of time making sure I wasn't charged re-destination fees. But it was Uhaul who changed my destination on ME. So I should charge Uhaul for changing MY location, not the other way around.

Have the information be accurate from reservations made online and the information the site has. Also make sure that the reservations for the equipment are at one location. I had to go to two different locations to get the things I had reserved.

I was given a 4x8 trailer with a tire that had a leaking valve....I had to delay my trip by a day to get it fixed....on a trailer the only thing to check is the wheels...why was that not done? The UHaul road emergency guy was on time and good.
