Would be nice to have some signage in the trucks telling how large the gas tank is, so that when refilling a customer knows how much gas to replenish. Either that or always rent out the trucks with full tanks of gas, and require them returned full.

Our overall experience was poor, but not due to anything at Greg's True Value. The previous rental lady never returned her vehicle so we had to wait another hour, there were no other trucks available. The service man at Greg's was EXCEPTIONAL! (Someone give him a RAISE please!) The counter was PACKED, he held his composure, handled a miriad of things all at one time, and remained pleasant. He did his best to expedite our process. We were finally able to get going an hour and a half behind schedule. I would like to say that the online process for rental sucks and that I had to enter CC numbers, copys of drivers license etc, and when I got to the store miraculously NONE of that information was available to him on the computer. This again delayed our process as I did not bring a credit card since online and in the confirmation email I was prepaid to "pick up and go". Very frustrating experience overall. But for the location itself, no problems.

Review the insurance information better, I did not need it with my policy, and it appeared on the bill , and when I returned the truck, with my policy in hand, the man was very agreeable and told me he would make an adjustment.

I'm not sure if I would recommend uhaul in general. I had the unfortunate experience of having the doors lock automatically after I loaded some things in back and closed the door. The keys, my phone etc were all inside. Luckily I was able to use a neighbors phone. When I called Greg's True Value they said they couldn't do anything to help and I should call U-Haul. So when I called U-Haul pressed the button for customer service and was on hold forever. So I hung up and called a locksmith. Just seems that either they should warn you that the doors lock automatically OR provide some type of assistance.

Truck was clean, but reeked of cigarettes smoke. Truck ran well. Had to wait in line when picking up the truck because computer would not respond. Personnel at Greg’s Hardware were great!

I had a reservation to pick up a truck for 12:45 pm. I arrived at 12:30 pm, and waiting an hour and a half before being serviced. I had two customer's in front of me when I arrived. During the time I was waiting, many customers who arrived after me were brought forward and serviced before me. By the time I left, I was the only person in line and the last people being served. The individual who processed my rental clearly did not know what he was doing, even though he was the store owner. He had customers, including myself, call his store manager via his cell phone, who had to process the orders for us. Not only that, be he was unbelievably slow and did seem bothered by how he was inconveniency us. He would complain about how he was "tearing his hair out" and how bad this day was going for him. But he never once acknowledged that we might be frustrated, nor did he apologize. People were waiting in long so line that some folks left, others found seats because their legs were getting tired. At one point the store owner / check-out clerk left without letting any of us customers know why. Where was he going? To grab himself a soda, while we all waited. By the time I was helped, I was informed that they had misplaced my vehicle. I then had to wait additional time for them to get their keys and vehicles sorted so they could find me an alternative. This was easily, hands down, no contest, the worst customer service experience I've ever had in my life, and I will never be going back there. And I wasn't even offered a discount on my order. All that said, the next day when I came back to return the truck, the store manager was there and processed my return. He *actually* apologized -- even though it wasn't *his* fault, and alluded that the store owner didn't seem to know what he was doing. This store manager processed my return in 10-15 minutes, a reasonable expected amount of time. He should get a raise and the store owner should be dismissed/fired. His service (or lack there of) was absolutely, without exception, unacceptable.

Why am I, the consumer, subjected to the inability of others renting the same equipment to follow the rules? I was told at 9am today that my trailer, which I scheduled a day in advance, was not at the uHaul office I selected for rental because SOMEONE ELSE DIDN'T RETURN IT ON TIME. Ok, was told to go to another location, not far away, and did so. Nearly 2 hours later, at a 3rd party site that clearly is behind the times in technology, I was waiting just to rent the trailer. So I could not begin my tasks until nearly 2.5 hours after I was supposed to. Why do I have to pay full price for this? I helped out your company's inability to alert the consumer there may be an issue with what I was supposed to rent. I want a discount or refund. I called your hotline, and asked for a discount and instead, got a 1 hole extension for free when IT WASN'T MY PROBLEM I WAS LATE!

My agreement stated I had the trailer for 4 days. I don't understand how Friday to Sunday is 4 days? I've asked for feedback, but haven't received any as of yet. If U-haul is really concerned, they would get back to their customers with information. Otherwise stop with the reviews.

Trucks check engine light was on at check out and stayed on until speeds over 45mph were reached. After turning off, the check engine light came back on and stayed on. Brakes are very loud. Check out was very slow, over 30 minutes even with doing the pre check out on the mobile app.

I went online and they sent me out of my way to be given the wrong trailer and truck. Because of the trailer, several plastic parts and my gas tank on my motorcycle have unrepairable. damage... Thanks for making things more difficult.Good to know since we started flipping houses in this area.

When we got the truck it had 5/8 tank of gas. When we returned it at a half tank we went in and asked if we should go put gas in it cause we didnt use a lot, he said no it was fine...but then after we leave he says it was down to a quarter tank and charges me $87. Even though the Marengo location was great, I will never do business with uhaul again. I had to drive 30 miles just to get a truck cause they weren't even gonna tell me that they had no equipment for me in rockford the day of my move if I hadn't called. If that's the case, you tell people that when they call to make the reservation. I am beyond annoyed with how this whole situation went down
