The process to remotely pick up the uhaul was incredibly long and strenuous, having to find two people to call and independently verify who I say I am seemed silly, and to top it off another person came at the same time with a reservation for the same uhaul! Plus the dolly and blankets I ordered were nowhere to be found. I would not recommend using Uhaul as a company to anyone else looking for moving equipment / trucks.

Warn customers there is no parking ah the gas station so they can plan accordingly. Wasted time Trying to find street parking and could only find parking for 2 hours, so didn't get to use the truck for the full 4. Very displeased.
I would definitely recommend this Uhaul Santa Monica location to folks. We selected self pick-up option which went well. Truck was clean and mileage/fuel right on target. It would have been nice to pre-load drivers' license and personal info prior to rental to speed up self pick-up check-out time. The attendant at this location was very helpful. He repeated steps we needed to take and was very respectful and considerate. He represented Uhaul very well and we appreciated his guidance.
it was strange going into a shell gas station to pick up.- there was no sign but we saw u- hauls. and the cashier seemed too busy to be doing both jobs...
Charged me for a parking spot I couldn't get because the staff had their personal vehicles in them. Had to drive home and take an Uber back. They made it seem like it was my fault. Horrible experience at this location and it seems like the location down the road knows about it because they told me if I have any problems to come to them. I would like a refund for my parking at the least to make this right.
The app is a good idea, but has not been well executed. Very slow and not easy to navigate or receive help. I had to call customer service after my agent in the chat didn't respond to me for 30 minutes after I kept asking for an update. I finally was in my rental truck 50 minutes INTO my reservation, which did not push my truck return time either. I still had to return by 3pm, though I paid for 6 hours and practically had the truck at 10am. I also was not pleased with the ending charges. It's advertised to be $29.99 but doesn't include all the other add-ups. In the end, I was very dissatisfied with my experience.
The worst experience from a brand. This is a mom and pop shop that didn't have the transporter I requested. I had to drive 3 hours through downtown LA traffic to pick up a transporter. When I get back they don't know how to load my car. Complete waste of my time and terrible experience. Caused me to pay my movers 4x and I didn't arrive to my location until Thanksgiving, where everything was closed. Thanks Uhaul for the worst experience of all time.
After we got there, we were told by owner that they do not accept return truck not belonged to them. Uhaul computer system definitely needs improvement so the staff knows each location limitation. I was told to drive another 10 miles to a different location. First, I will pass the 24 hour timeframe. Second, the mileage driven to the first location will be wasted. Third, my time is wasted. After I insisted to talk to a manager, I was told that I could leave it there afterall.
Exterior of the car was very dirty and the windshield was very dirty. Interior was fine
The computer system was not working when checking in so it took a while to check in and check out. The attendant was very helpful through the process.
My experience with U-Haul was unacceptable. After being switched to different pick up spots multiple times after being GUARANTEED a truck at the original location, when we were finally able to get a truck, there was a man asleep in the back. The gas station manager that gave us the keys to the truck clearly knew the man asleep in the back. He was not alarmed at all that he was asleep there. It took several minutes to wake the guy up and get him out. I have complained to U-Haul twice already and have heard nothing back. I highly recommend never using U-Haul's services.
Hello - I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience renting from U-Haul. I found this process to be thoroughly inconvenient, poorly organized, and inefficient in almost every conceivable way. It took 20 minutes to actually get the keys to the U-Haul, which involved providing multiple "alternate contacts" - the first contact I provided was apparently insufficient - and inputting information I had already provided to U-Haul while making the reservation to begin with. More significantly, I was explicitly told by multiple representatives on the ground at the location where I picked up and dropped off the U-Haul that I did not need to refuel the truck. And yet, I have been charged $18 for 3.5 gallons of gas, which is absolutely unacceptable. Furthermore, I thought I had reserved a 9" Cargo Van of the "Sprinter" variety - as indicated in the photograph on the U-Haul website - only to find a van far less maneuverable and much more difficult to drive. This is all to say, I found this experience renting from U-Haul sufficiently inconvenient and duplicitous to never rent from your company ever again. Thank you, Luca Rojas
Perhaps make a sign to show where trucks should be parked. When the gas station is busy, it's hard to know find a spot to park the UHaul to go inside and talk to someone. This will avoid people having to move the trucks a second time to the designated UHaul parking spots.

You made the impossible possible, thank you. To improve: your computer systems need to accurately reflect the size and quantity of avail units in a regional setting. Like â€œ so do you have any 10x10x10s in a 50 miles radius of 90245.
Upon checking out the vehicle, I asked the guy to have only flat rate and gas/mileage, no extra charges, he said he did it but didn't give me a copy so that I could see what the charges were. When I returned the vehicle, a second guy said I should leave the key and go. I said I wanted to finalize transaction and get a receipt, he made me wait long time until he would go with me to check the vehicle. Then he was playing with his phone and his computer, claiming that transaction was finalized but I didn't receive an email. I called customer service and after a long wait I could speak to a customer service representative. She confirmed that my account still showed that the vehicle was not yet returned. She called the guy and immediately the guy pretended that he solved the computer issue and he could finalize the transaction and give me a receipt while he was still on the phone. Then I received an email with receipt which showed I was charged an extra $5 for Safe Trip! I only drove 16 miles in the neighborhood altogether, I didn't need road side assistant. I didn't understand why the first guy confirmed that I had flat rate and gas/mileage only. Very bad experience, I spent an hour just to get a receipt and I was charged extra for something that I didn't need although I had asked to have no extra charges.

They three gentlemen that helped me were kind and patient. It was a great experience renting from here.
Everything was organized, customer service was excellent. One idea might be to review additional driving mechanisms not usually found on most cars or SUVs. Otherwise, everything was great.
The workers both when I picked up the truck and dolly and also when I returned later today Were both very nice and very well spoken and most of all Extremely Knowledgable about U haul products .. Thanks for a great experience -C. McGrath
This location was filled with homeless individuals outside camping out. Not the safest location in my opinion..
We didn't use the dolly and blankets we rented but they we asked them if we can be credited for those they said no. Other than that, everything went very smoothly and the fellow was very courteous and friendly. Also, I was able to leave with the truck in a timely manner.
They did not follow how long I told them I needed the equipment and set the rental to a very small time window (a few hours) and did not tell me if I go just one minute over that time they will charge AN ENTIRE EXTRA DAY. This is dishonesty and robbery, especially since I told them a few times I would need it much longer than the time they ended up putting on the contract. They hurt ignored it or didn't care and figured they trap me into the other day charge. Then they charged me for two days of coverage that I didn't order. There is another paper I signed that shows i denied coverage, (and originally ordered it online without it.) Yet they added it anyway. They said all these things are uhaul policy and I need to take it up with uhaul. But when I called uhaul they said that these things were keyed in by the location and uhaul is opening a case against them. But no guarantee I'll even get a credit for these dishonest practices.. So this location is very very shady and will add things to your bill after the order. They tripled my bill for a 4 to 5 hour rental. Puffed up a $50 rental to about $170. Ridiculous. Don't go here. Because you'll get a shock when you return it and have to fight the bill.
Request for an appliance dolly was not able to be satisfied by this location, so had to go to another U-haul location to get one. Would appreciate the U-haul website being up to date with what a given location has to offer and directing its clients accordingly. I have no problem with this location but rather with the management of equipment by the online website.
When I arrived the employee who was working told me there was no where to park the truck because they were "full." It wasn't until I called the number on the receipt I received earlier that he came out and showed us a space behind the store. He was not exactly helpful.
