First of all Worst experience ever renting a Uhaul truck. The first thing was the change of my location for pick up changed from my home town Middletown ca to Santa Rosa ca, this put me behind 3 hours do to commute and the long check in process. When I go there the person at counter could not get Uhaul website up. after several attempts she called Uhaul. She ran my credit card twice telling me it was Declined........I asked her" How much are you charging me"? she said $2,160 includes the insurance......I told her that she had the wrong amount it was $990 for the truck then the Add for the insurance......she then said "Oh I saw that but the program kept adding a $1,000" so we finally got that rectified, She gave me the keys told me the truck was in the front and off she went to a delivery she had to make. No inspection. Truck had over 100,000 miles on it and handled like it.....this truck should be retired!! After this experience probably will never use Uhaul, and if you see my history have been a faithful customer!!
I am giving a high rating only to the pickup location, not U-Haul in general. Ivhad a horrible customer service experience with the U-Haul company. I found out the night before I was supposed to move across the country that the car trailer we reserved would not be available and that my options were either to drive 3 hours out of my way to pick up an available trailer or use a different trailer that uhaul had already told me should not be used for our car. Furthermore, I had requested that the U-Haul pickup time be 8:00 a.m. and was not told until very late at night that the U-Haul truck would not be available until 1 pm. This was a very stressful situation for me and I did not appreciate how uhaul handled this.
Nancy at AAA Appliance is extremely customer service oriented. She is a wonderful representative for the U-Haul services she offers.
The location is fine if you live in the area. I made the reservation for a closer location to where I live and the day before I was informed by U-Haul that would have to drive another 9 miles to pick-up my rental. I was not happy because of the added miles and time.

Hours are extremely limited
Your app is awful,terrible,sucks! After spending 15-20 minutes checking in, it got the rental time wrong. Tried to edit on app,no way.Called U-Haul to change length of rental. At the same time I opened a chat. 25 mins later, response on chat.Said they would edit and send me a confirmation. Never happened. Stayed on phone for 45 mins, never did pick up.Rental before this, I reserved 3 weeks in advance. Sent 3-4 emails as date approached changing pickup location. CDay before move they wanted to send me 11/2 hrs in wrong direction for pickup. Fortunately my local dealer found a trailer for me. I used to give all 5 star ratings and I realize the are difficult times but you people are really slipping. Easier to spend a little more and go to rental yard if my time is worth anything.

The whole $19.95 per day rental is a misleading ad. Mileage, gas, insurance, environmental fee and taxes and I paid over $53 to drive 19 miles round trip for 1 hr and 20 mins. Rip off.

U haul called the night prior to pick up at 7:00 pm to notify us the nearest U Haul center that had our reserved 6x12 unit was 1 hour drive away. This was late notice and extremely difficult timing to drive 2 hours RT in order to obtain our rental, then after obtaining The rental trailer the right side door hinge was broken, so road side assistance was called out to repair the problem, this added an additional 90 minute delay in our set up, then upon re turning the U Hail, we were asked to drop it off in a location 20 minutes further away than our original requested location of 5 min from home. In addition, the 6x12 units should have a hydraulic Jack attached to the hitch to allow for the weight distribution once loaded, instead we had to obtain our own Jack in order to raise the hitch off the connection. This added another hour set up to our trip. The equipment is dated and should be updated.

They vehicle definitely hadn't been wiped down or cleaned between the last person and me. Also there's a lot of fees racked into the $20 rent rate. Why not just add those fees to the rate. It would be more transparent.
Dolly and furniture pads not in truck as ordered and paid for. Mobile pick up not easy to use.

When I arrive at the location, the truck share app wasn't recognizing my reservation number, even though I had confirmed it the previous day over the phone. I spend 20 minutes on hold getting passed around because no one knows how to help me. A gentleman was walking me through resetting the truck share app/login information which we both knew was not going to work. Luckily, the lady who runs this location happened to show up to take the trash out. She was nice enough to start a new reservation for me (says this happens all the time with the app). Nearly an hour later and I finally have the keys to the uhaul. When I turn it on, the check engine light is lit up. I drove the uhaul to Petaluma and back but felt very unsafe the entire way. I have used uhaul in the past and never had any issues like this so I am dissatisfied with my experience.
