One-way rental from South Bend to Kalamazoo. The employee working on Saturday morning (2/3) was very unorganized and flustered. The first truck that was on the reservation had a dead battery. The replacement truck presented had only 1/16 tank of fuel. No fuel credit was offered. The location had no utility dollies (which one was reserved) and ZERO furniture pads - I had requested 12. The employee said he would take off the furniture pads from the order, but failed to do so. I prepaid and checked in prior to my pickup, so I thought maybe this would be a 10-minute maximum appointment. I was at the location for 45 minutes AND didn't receive all of the items I reserved. Completely unacceptable. The office was very unclean and had an extremely unpleasant odor. If it weren't for the folks at the Kalamazoo Portage Rd location and their friendliness and excellent customer service, I'd rethink ever using U-Haul again.

I have never been so shocked by a business or its customer service before. The offices of this location were dirty, disorganized, and frankly disarming. I was called into a back room to get my paperwork and was nervous to do so. Once I had the paperwork done, the owners couldn’t find the key to my van and began scrounging about their offices to find it. The owner then began calling someone and swearing at them at full volume. I’ve never heard a business use the words “stupid motherfuckers” whilst helping a customer. I will NEVER return to this location and will instruct everyone I know to avoid it. UHaul should be embarrassed to have their name attached to this place.

Terrible service. Workers were not at the location at promised time. It took me 2 hours and three trips back to the location to get the vehicle returned. This site is a poor representation of Uhaul.

I just wanna say this is my 3rd rental in a little over 2 months from u-haul. My first rental was a not so pleasant experience. I was deeply dismayed and disappointed in the service and equipment I received initially.  After the rental, I made a call to u-haul and spoke with a Brandie Denora. She apologised profusely and set out to make things right. She did, and then some. When all is said and done, I can truly recommend u-haul because after all is said and done I had an over all good experience. Bottom line, it's the good service that we need and want. Thank you Brandie Denora of Tom's River, NJ. And thank you U-haul.

Picking this unit up was a nightmare.. The Western Ave uhaul "Gabby" rented the hauler that was reserved for me. Then Emily said they could not get another to the location because her driver was late to work. I drove to the other location and the had no idea who I was. Called customer service to finally get some help. Like I have told anyone who will listen. I would never rent from you again, the problem is....there is no one else so I am stuck, but I will try to find other others ways than renting anything from uhaul....sorry, but its true. David

The place looked closed and there wasn't a sign indicating how to reach a person. We locked the truck and left it in the parking lot. There wasn't a place to drop the key. Also there was no way to lock the back of the truck. So we had to take the key and equipment (dolly, packing blankets, etc) with us so they wouldn't be stolen. Then we had to drive back to U-Haul the next day to give them the key and equipment. The lady who took the key and equipment from us was very nice and helpful.

the truck was broken, it had caused a major delay in moving and me an extra $150 in helpers because we couldn't get anything done in the timeframe I hired them because the truck was broken and wasn't sure if it was repairable. I feel I should get some sort of refund for the time and money this delay cost me

The woman in charge when we arrived did not know how to hook our trailer up so thankfully, we already knew how. However, the manager that was supposed to be there to help us was a no show. The woman working eventually did have to call him because I had ordered a mattress protective cover through my rental process and it was already paid for, however she didn't have a key to the locked office where they held all the equipment. I had to wait 15 minutes for the manager to show up. He then had me follow him into his office to find what I had ordered. After 5 minutes of searching through a big box of plastic covers that had obviously never been unpacked, he finally gave me a king size mattress cover even though I ordered a queen. This place was very disorganized and obviously did not look clearly at the reservation I had made. The uhaul trailer was filthy upon receiving. I had to sweep out and mop the trailer due to all the mud/dirt.
