The truck was way bigger than I expected but I was stuck with it because they didn't have the next size down. I thought the truck was clean until I started to use it and found a dirty, sticky mess in the compartment beside the cup holders.

More informed customer service. And just being nice would help. The office employee was very unpleasant and when the tow truck driver had a call his comment to me or her was- "whatever he needs will have to wait" could have been handled differently. I really did not mind waiting but the people were just unpleasant. For example, I initially got charged for 3 days when I only rented the trailer for one. The clerk gave me no explanation, just said "that's how Uhaul does it".
