Today, October 22, 2025, I arrived at 6:30 a.m. to pick up my reserved U-Haul. Outside the convenience store where the trucks were parked, I asked a young woman sweeping if there was a place to park my car. She responded rudely, “U-Haul does not provide parking!” I said, “Oh, I’ll park on the street,” and she didn’t reply. Inside, I greeted her and said, “I’m so glad you open so early.” She coldly answered, “We open at 6. What’s the reservation name?” I gave my middle and last name (which I usually go by), and she said there was no reservation. I then asked her to check under my first name, and she snapped, “She needs to be here,” even though I was clearly the renter. I showed my ID, tried to explain, but she interrupted repeatedly and said, “I know.” Her tone and attitude were unnecessarily hostile from the beginning. I finally said, “It’s so early in the morning—why argue?” and she replied, “If you don’t like it, I can transfer your reservation…” I decided to stay quiet, just answer her questions, and get the truck. She handed me the keys without saying anything, and when I waited for a printout, she said coldly, “You have the keys—you can leave.” I’ve been a loyal U-Haul customer for many years and always had positive experiences when renting for my farm business. This morning was the complete opposite. I know this behavior doesn’t reflect U-Haul as a whole, but it certainly reflects poorly on that location. When I returned the truck, I fueled elsewhere and completed the return online just to avoid another unpleasant encounter. I will not return to that location again.

I was charged for additional fuel after turning the keys in. I pointed this out to the employee who accepted the keys from me and they were of no use. All they could do was “text” their manager about it with no solution or way forward to remedy the issue. The vehicle was dirty. The left tail light was out when I picked the vehicle up. Ridiculous.

LUIS VThe website needs to say that the location can change. It is misleading to be able to pick a specific site to pick up and drop off and then have both of those change within 24 hours of using the truck. The drop off location wasn’t even open and then I was directed to drop off where I had wanted to begin with.
