The entire process was more hassle than it wa worth. My first reservation was bumped and the found a truck to transfer. The gentleman working was super nice and tried hard. But when you are pressed for time. The stores internet was out and I waited for over an hour and a half to rent the truck. After which time I was told that I had tot bring the truck back at 7:30 AM even after loosing close to two hours of my 24hr rental. I went out to the truck and it would not start. So I had to go back inside and another thirty minutes and I was out the door. I returned the truck early. This was a terrible experience.

There is one person to service the service station and U-Haul customers. Thus, I had to wait 14 minutes before the individual had time to check the mileage and gas level on the truck. That was the only negative.

I pay to rent moving blankets. I didn't pay to fold them afterwards. I was given a vehicle with a quarter tank of fuel and the night guy demanded that I fill it to half. I refused and had a pic to prove it. Apparently he thought driving 19 miles would use a quarter tank of fuel.

It took 45 minutes for me to get the key to the u-haul. Due to the driver looking different from his license picture (beard vs. no beard), he could not be “virtually verified”. The first person I was chatting with just told couldn’t be verified and disconnect when I asked why. The second person just told me I had to speak with someone at the store. I told them they didn’t open until 8:30 AM and they advised me it was 7:00. I told them, I’m sitting here and they’re not open. The person said again, they open at 7:00 and disconnected. It took theses three different attempts to get my key. I called twice and each that someone transferred me to an automated system, but then I was on hold for 10 minutes, which is confusing because it’s an automated system. I’m also not sure how an automated stands would help. While on hold, I tried verified the driver again. and a service rep. that was helping me “virtually verify” called to speak to me directly. She advised that it was probably due to the current picture you have to post of yourself compared to the license picture being different. She wasn’t able to manually override the system and I wasn’t able to change my driver until she sent me a link. It was very frustrating that it took five different agents (two virtually and three on the phone) to get help. While the truck was clean, the pick up location was well-lit, and the truck drove okay, I am disappointed with the lack of customer service using the online pick-up option.

The U-Haul Cargo Van was slightly dirty inside the cargo area. The driver's area upfront was perfect. I vacuumed out the cargo area myself. The van drove great, I would rent again from the same depot.

I spent a rather long time on the phone making arrangements and reservations for this rental only to find when we arrived at the pickup location that not only was the reservation not there but the individual who was running the store was rude, unkept, impolite and totally unaware of my reservation. As such the truck was not ready nor clean and the specific equipment, ie: dolly, blankets, and furniture rollers were not with the vehicle but were piled in piles outside the store. Naturally it was also raining. Needless to say, when the individual told my son and I go out and load the special equipment we wanted on the truck my opinion of U Haul sank even further then it had at the start of our most unpleasant meeting to pick up our truck. This was bad. There was another individual there who the person at the pickup place told him to just go get a truck. When we were finally ready to depart this individual was still standing in front of the store. I stopped and asked him if I could help him at all and he just lowered his head and said "He told me to just go get a truck, Now he won't ever talk to me"".... bad, bad, bad. .

Tried to reserve online and had an issue in picking up the truck. Had to provide two seperate individuals to verify my identiy and after asking why and taking longer than 5 minutes to look up and provide a second contact - I was forced to go inside the store. The whole idea was to NOT go inside. Simply askin and taking the time to go into my contacts on my phone should not force me out of the entire process. I complied with everythign and the people on the online chat were NOT HELPFUL. WOuld defintiely NOT RECOMMEND using the online process as it was cold and impersonal.

The man there is a moron.I will NEVER use U-haul again if this is the only place to rent.He had no idea how to use a credit card.It took 3 different cards to pay all of which had plenty of money on them.My debit card had over 3,000$ in the account but he kept telling me there was no money on the account.NEVER again will I go there

Not one to complain because I hate this. But the unit I rented had mechanical issues. ABS and RED brake light on all the time with the ABS activating every time you would stop. When getting to 50MPH, the truck absolutely shakes you out of the seat. Had the truck rented for 2 days and returned it after the first load. Went back to the Gainesville Va Penske where I have rented previously. The reason I chose uHaul was closer to the home we just built to save miles. Thanks GFunk

Gave me the key and didn't go over the vehicle or mileage rates with me. Charged me 99$ on top of everything, for an in-town move. The parking brake did not work and the low tire pressure light was on. I got charged for a utility dolly that wasn't used or given to me. Will use another service or location next time.

We were given false info about the availability of a truck. The story switched on us multiple times. The web site offered us a truck 2 hours away. We ended up with a truck twice the size we wanted, 3 hours late. Friends told us this is typical. Plan on it if you can!
