My recent U-Haul rental experience was extremely disappointing. Not only was the manager unprofessional, but I was also overcharged for the truck I rented. Had I not taken the time to carefully review my bill, I may never have caught the error. The location charged me $80 for fuel even though I only drove the truck approximately 30 miles and returned it with more fuel than it had when I picked it up—actually filling it to full. Luckily I took pictures of the fuel gage and milage. The most concerning part is not just my experience, but how many other customers may have been overcharged and never realized it. As someone who pays attention to details, I caught the discrepancy. Many others may not. I have reported them to Fort Drum legal office and the proper authorities. I expect businesses to operate with honesty, transparency, and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience fell far short of those expectations.
