Excellent service and lots of trucks. Definitely reserve your stuff as this is a very busy location. We reserved a strapped hand truck for a one-way long distance move that was not available but they did find us a regular hand truck to use so we thank you much.

This was not the location listed in our contract. When we arrived at that location, we were told they could not accept the truck and that we had been sent a text with a new location. This was not true - the online system showed we were still supposed to return the truck to the original location and there was no text in the system (it saves a list of all texts and emails that you send to customers). We drove to the new location only to find them closed. We left the truck and went through the fairly complicated after-hours check-in procedure. I still have not received any sort of confirmation that the truck has been returned, even after calling the 800 number and being told that the truck would be checked in on 8/20 and I would receive an email that day. No email, nothing. If I knew ahead of time that I needed to return the truck elsewhere AND that the location was not open Sundays, I would have made arrangements to return it when they were open. I'm disappointed that your communications with your customers aren't working properly.

Rented a car trailer and once i got the car loaded up i realized the strap to secure the vehicle was broke. I called and was told they never bothered to inspect it because the previous renter uses it all the time with no issues. I had to go get my own straps to secure the vehicle or drive an hour back to uhaul and leave the trailer and use a car dolly which would have been a large waste of time and gas not to mention its not what i paid for.

This is where the review goes south a bit. My dropoff was changed without my knowledge. I got to the original drop off at 118 Marshall St, Winston Salem , NC and first: there was no one around. After 5 minutes or so a lady comes from the back of the lot tells me they dont have room for my truck and I needed to go to 2100 Glendale. That was it. She wasnt rude but she wasnt very friendly either. It was hot and she definitely had been in the sun a while. Maybe that was the issue. Anyway, I said to the lady, well I should get a mileage credit then, she said "I will fix it". Whatever, I turned the truck around and proceeded to 2100 Glendale. The man at this location was VERY friendly and courteous. I got the impression he had been through this drill before. He had me checked out in minutes. i had to pay an extra $5.68 and the man was very apolgetic when he told me "She didnt fix anything at the other location". All in all it was a pleasent experience other than the dropoff mess. BTW: I checked my phone logs and emails and never got a notice to dropoff somewhere else.

A hole of thieves. The odometer on the truck read a number larger than posted on the contract before departing. After bringing the truck back with the tank in 1/4, the guy at the counter charged extra for fuel. I wrote them asking why and never answered. Avoid this location is my advise.

The 2 dollies I reserved were not available and I was sent to another location for those. The truck I reserved was not in location that I was directed to and I had to search the parking lot in order to find it and then get staff to free the reserved truck which was blocked in. Have never had these issue with other U-Haul locations.

No one was there. I was diverted there after going to my original drop of location.



This is not the location I selected on-line to return the trailer. When I arrived at my selected location I was told they didn't have room to take it and I would have to go the Glendale Street location. When I got there no one was there to take care of the return. Also, even though the lot was open, there was no room to maneuver the trailer to park it properly because of overcrowding. Drop-off locations should plan for equipment that is to be returned to their locations and refuse to accept equipment that is scheduled to be returned elsewhere if they don't have adequate room. In this case I should have been informed in advance to return the trailer to another location.

The only hiccup, if I can really call it that, was the vehicle made a high pitch whine when it accelerated and travelled at high speeds. Not a deal breaker by any means and the experience was exemplary overall.

After the bad experience at pick-up in South Carolina, the original drop-off location at U-Haul Moving and Storage of Winston-Salem, NC told me that they did not have room for the trailer and sent me 10 miles away to Security storage where I was able to return the trailer.

The experience we had with Mike at this UHaul location was very unpleasant. My husband was at work when he made the reservation from his UHaul account and had my number, his wife, as the confirmation contact. When I called to finalize the rental, Mike was very arrogant and rude from the beginning. Talking to me, a female, as if I knew nothing about the capabilities of our truck, and the knowledge of pulling a trailer. He would barely let me get a word in. I mentioned that my husbands truck information was in the system and more than capable to pull a trailer, and this wasn’t the first trailer we have rented. He stated that we had to pick this trailer up no later than 4:30pm but I mentioned to him that my husband worked a 12 hour shift until 6pm and that was not doable. He would not help us out on the time. I verbally told him that he was being very rude and arrogant towards me and I didn’t appreciate it. He responded stating he was not being rude. I then asked him to check his tone. We were only renting a trailer made of aluminum, not a million dollar camper. I was so appalled by his behavior that I told him I was finished talking to him and hung up the phone. My husband then had to call him back from work which that conversation wasn’t pleasant according to my husband. We ended up having to have my step dad pick up the trailer. We also requested a one way trailer but once this was scheduled he stated we had to bring it back! Very inconvenient for us as we were traveling from NC to PA and didn’t want to bring an empty trailer back with us. We have rented several trucks and trailers from UHaul and have never had such a bad experience before. Please take note of this and do what needs to be done to Mike. He needs to remember we are the customers... not the enemy. Talking down to people you don’t know, especially if you are a female, is not acceptable!!! Thank you. Sheena Hocker
