I wasnt notified until I arrived in Mt Airy, NC that my pickup had been moved almost 30 miles away to Woodlawn, Va. That meant a trip over a mountain in a winter storm and on the way a FedEx truck had an accident and we sat on the highway for 2 hours. I was on a deadline and what should have taken me 30 minutes to pickup took me over 3 hours. But of course at that point I had no choice and Uhaul knows you have people stuck at that point. Also When you charge by the mile, that's a pretty cheap trick. The new location staff were professional, courteous and apologetic and I dont blame them. But I wont be using Uhaul again because This isnt the first time Uhaul has been sneaky. Last time I used Uhaul, I picked up after hours and they incorrectly recorded the mileage and I was overcharged by over $300 and of course there was nothing I could because there was no one there and I had to have the truck. Now I can see it wasnt just a one time problem, Uhaul obviously makes it a practice to be unscrupulous and shady.

Very helpful and friendly staff.
It has been several years since I rented a U Haul vehicle. This was the cleanest and most well maintained vehicle I have rented. The check in process with the manager was quick, efficient and he was very friendly. We made back up plans for the vehicle's return in the event of inclement weather. I have utilized Uhaul several times over the years, and almost always have had some issues. This, however, was my best experience with Uhaul ever. Horizon Equipment was nothing less than totally helpful and made the process so easy. Absolutely won't rent from anyone else ever again (unless I'm not in their area).
