How to Manage a Reservation in the U-Haul AppĀ

Last Updated:

Let’s be honest, moving comes with a lot of different parts. The good news? Keeping track of your reservation doesn’t have to be stressful. With the U-Haul app, you can check your reservation, make updates, and stay organized without digging through emails or making last-minute calls. Everything you need is right there on your phone, ready whenever you are.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through managing your reservation in the U-Haul app step- by- step, so you’re always clear on your next move.

Managing Your Reservation in the U-Haul App

Before you begin, make sure you’ve downloaded the U-Haul app and logged into your account. If you don’t have one yet, you can quickly create one right in the app.

Step 1: View and Manage Your Orders from the Home Screen

When you open the U-Haul app, you’ll see a quick overview of your reservations right on the home screen. Your quotes, upcoming reservations, active rentals, and recently completed orders appear as individual cards. Each card highlights key details like your order status, next important date, and type of equipment.

You’ll also see high-priority action buttons, such as “Pick Up My Truck” or “Return My Truck,” along with helpful options like “Roadside” or “Extend Rental.” These quick actions are designed to help you take care of the most important tasks right away.

Keep in mind that the homepage can only show up to 5 at a time and only shows the completed orders for 24 hours. If you need to review more details or make additional changes, simply tap on any order card to open the full reservation.

Step 2: Go to the Orders Tab for a Full View

If you want to view all your reservations in one place, tap ‘Orders’ in the bottom navigation bar. This is your main hub for everything related to your current, future, and past reservations. You can also explore the “Tools” tab for additional features, but most of your reservation management will happen under Orders.

Step 3: View All Your Orders

Your reservations are organized by status so you can quickly see what’s happening now, what’s coming up, and what you’ve already finished. You can also filter by product or service type to find exactly what you need without scrolling.

Each order shows key details like your service, date, location, and pricing upfront, so you can stay on top of your plans without digging through multiple screens.

Step 4: Open an Order to Review Details

Tap on any order to view a full breakdown of your reservation.

Here, you’ll find your pickup and drop-off locations, scheduled date and time, and all selected services. You’ll also see a pricing summary, which may include rental costs, mileage estimates, equipment, and coverage options. This is where you double-check your order before moving day and make sure everything looks right.

Step 5: Make Changes to Your Reservation

Plans change, and that’s okay. You can update reservation details directly from your order details page. Depending on your reservation, you may be able to adjust your pickup time or location, change rental dates, or update your estimated mileage. You can also add or remove equipment, like dollies or towing gear, and review or update your coverage options

If you need to cancel your U-Haul reservation, you can also do that easily in the app. U-Haul also offers free cancellations, so you can make changes to your plans with flexibility.

To save time on moving day, you can also complete check-in for mobile pickup at a U-Haul location and skip the counter on a truck reservation.

Step 6: Check and Reuse Past Orders

To view all current or past reservations and orders, including cancelled orders, go to the “ Orders" section.

You can filter your orders by product type (such as truck rentals, Moving Help® Service Providers, or packing supplies). When viewing a past order, you’ll see a detailed summary that includes addresses, total cost, price breakdown, estimated mileage, and coverage details. You can also review pickup and drop-off information or leave feedback.

If you’ve used Moving Help, you’ll also be able to view your service provider’s details, job information, date and time, and payment code. For moving supplies, you can check whether the purchase was made in-store or online, along with item details and purchase information.

And if you need to book again, simply tap “Request Again.” It lets you start a new reservation based on a previous one without going through the entire process again.

Step 7: Use Tools and Resources

At the bottom of your order details page, you’ll find helpful tools and resources designed to make your move easier.

You can print your order, access FAQs, contact support, or explore moving tips tailored to your reservation. The app also includes tools like the Moving Supplies Calculator, which helps estimate what moving boxes and packing supplies you’ll need for your move.

These features are built right into your experience, so help is always just a tap away.

Add Missing Orders with the Tools Tab

If you don’t have one of your reservations in the app, there’s an easy fix. Head over to the Tools tab in the bottom navigation bar and select “Add Order to Your Account.” This will take you to the Associate Order page, where you can enter your U-Haul order or reservation number.

Once you click Associate Order and enter the order number, the reservation will be added to your account and appear alongside your other orders. From there, you’ll be able to view all the details and manage it like any other reservation.

This feature is especially helpful if you’ve booked outside the app or simply forgot to log in. Instead of worrying about missing information, you can quickly bring everything into one place and stay fully organized.

Manage Your Move with Confidence

Overall, the U-Haul app makes it easy to stay organized, flexible, and in control throughout your move. Instead of juggling multiple steps or worrying about missing details, you can manage everything in one place, quickly and on your own schedule.

Download the U-Haul app today and make your entire moving process smoother from start to finish.
