Former Industrial Building Becomes U-Haul Moving and Storage of Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – (Oct. 28, 2014) What was once a popular metal-goods manufacturer located at 365 Cherry Street has become the home of U-Haul Moving and Storage of Bridgeport. This property consists of nine buildings with a gross building space of 146,480 square feet. These buildings are situated on 3.22 acres of land and offer truck and trailer rentals along with a full line of moving and storage supplies.

Patrick Keefe, marketing company president of U-Haul Company of Lower Hudson Valley, says the goal of this acquisition is to bring a once-beautiful building back to its original state. The inside of the building has many industrial characteristics, along with skylights and hardwood floors. With its close proximity to I-95, this facility will bring added convenience to the residents of Bridgeport.

While there is still work to be done to bring this facility up to U-Haul Company standards, Keefe believes the project is advancing nicely. Future plans for this space include the addition of self-storage and U-Box moving and self-storage container rentals and storage.

“This facility is located in an area of town that has been in decline for many years,” Keefe explained. “U-Haul is the first of many businesses helping to revitalize the area and bring it back to its former condition.”
