As part of our 77-year commitment to conduct business in a socially responsible manner, to help protect the environment and benefit the communities where we live and serve, U-Haul is proud to partner with two distinguished nonprofit organizations; The Conservation Fund® and Tree Canada®.
U-Haul partnered with The Conservation Fund in 2007 to offer our U.S. customers an opportunity to make their move and the world a little greener with donations supporting conservation across America. 100% of all customer donations are forwarded to the Fund.
15 years later, U-Haul and millions of our customers have opted to donate and support the Fund's efforts to plant trees, protect and restore forests that absorb CO2, reduce urban flooding, build safe greenspaces where communities can reconnect with nature, and support more sustainable and "greener" economies in underserved communities. For U-Haul customers in Canada, our partnership with Tree Canada offers customers an opportunity to donate an amount of their choice at checkout to plant trees in rural forests, restore and build urban canopies, green schoolyards, and create edible-tree community gardens. 100% of all customer donations are forwarded to Tree Canada, Canada’s largest not-for-profit tree organization since 1992.
Tree Canada honored U-Haul as their selected sole recipient for the prestigious Eterne Award in 2016. U-Haul earned Gold Level Sponsor status with Tree Canada in 2020. Canadians can breathe more easily knowing that every tree planted helps to combat climate change, absorb carbon dioxide emissions and produce oxygen. Since launching this partnership in December 2011, more than 300,000 U-Haul customers have chosen to contribute, directly funding the planting of 112,883 trees which will sequester an estimated 124,171 metric tons of carbon dioxide over the next 100 years. These tree-planting partnerships allow U-Haul to provide measurable benefits to the communities we serve in both the United States and Canada. Please join us in making a better environment now and for future generations.
