It’s almost that time of the year: moving to your new school! Are you ready to attend Simon Fraser University this fall? Before you set off in that moving truck to begin one of the most memorable and important chapters of your life, be sure to check out these tips to make your transition into your new home a breeze.

Time to Move In!

First order of business, moving into the dorms. Avoid the havoc of stuffed elevators and having to drag heavy boxes up flights of stairs by directly shipping your stuff through Collegeboxes. It will save you and your parents plenty of time ( and not to mention backaches) and you will have more time to say your teary goodbyes. You can also rent a moving truck at the U-Haul location nearest to you. Before heading out to the campus make sure you have maps printed out of the campus and residence halls. Now that you are all set, sit back and watch as everyone else struggles through the moving mania!

Location

Regardless where you end up living on campus, Simon Fraser University’s campus will not disappoint. The campus is surrounded by the lush Burnaby Mountain Conservation area and the Burrard Inlet! There are countless trails for you and your new friends to hike and explore during for a weekend adventure. Nature-lovers are in for a real treat on this scenic campus. If you are going to move to Vancouver to go their SFU’s satellite campus you are in for a more urban treat for those who love being city-dwellers. SFU Vancouver is referred to as the “intellectual heart of the city” and is settled in urbanized downtown Vancouver.

Housing on Campus

Most freshmen live on campus their first year to get the college experience of meeting new people and being close to classes and resources. If you decide to live on campus you will be put in residence halls according to your year:

1st & 2nd year: The Towersmoving to simon fraser university
