Trailer was exposed to elements; hitch was on the ground (dirt/grass), light plug was laying on the ground and wet, computer system was not functioning, charged for $8 insurance even though it was declined online. Convenient location.

This location was very close to our destination and we were able to drop off the truck easily. This location has longer hours and a key drop so it would’ve been convenient whenever we dropped it.

For some reason, AJ’s didn’t show up as a drop off location while I was in Buxton. I picked the trailer up from AJ’s several days before.

It is not a uhaul location and consequently I had to wait and there was a line so the staff on duty could not help me hook up or confirm it. But I’m a little irritated because I was switched to this location without any notice and only found out when I arrived at the assigned location!

Poor service and they didn’t hook up the equipment for me. Found out the equipment was not properly hooked up when I dropped it off. They modified my dropped off location to Sumter when I told them I was in the Columbia area. When I made reservation I was quoted $114 but was charged $163 was not provided a receipt so not sure exactly what made the difference in the order.

Not happy at all with the booking. The truck was supposed to ready for pick up and guess what.... no truck! Apparently it was changed to 3:00. The manager said they tried to call us however no voice mail was left. Our day was stressful enough with the move let alone this happening. This is not the store owners fault. He was helpful

I will no longer use Uhaul for my business. We rent several trucks a month and after the run around on this one I will no longer rent from UHAUL. I will be disputing the charges with my credit card company.

The U-haul employee was not there. The only employee who was there did not know how to use the U-haul system. At first she refused to honor my reservation. Eventually she was walked through the process over video phone. It took almost an hour to process a reservation that already included all details regarding the vehicle, etc. She also didn't know which trailer I had signed up for and just told me to match the number on my receipt with the number on a trailer.... I returned the trailer the Same night as discussed. Two days later, I received my bill for two days of rental! When I called to complain that the return date was incorrect, he indicated that he had no control over that, I would have to call the U-haul corporate number.... I kept complaining and he finally corrected it after three calls and several hours. I will never return, and I will try to make sure no one else is victimized by this in the future.

Truck was had not been cleaned after last use and was obviously dirty with trash on the floor. Also, it smelled like cigarette smoke. Additionally just renting it (after reserving everything online) was a 40 minute nightmare. The one and only convenience store clerk had to help us in between helping customers. When we got to talk to her she could not complete the transaction. She had to call a number and then we had to wait to speak to someone to complete the transaction. The dollys were not in the truck. We were given a key an directed where to retrieve the dollys at. They were in two different locations too. One in the back of the store and one outside the front of the store. When we returned it, another phone call was required to turn it in. And again, there was only one clerk who was running the convenience store and checking out the Uhauls. Do NOT go here. With all the stress of moving, dealing with this store is just an additional unneeded headache!

First the assistant on duty was very apologetic and tried to help with my rental to the best of her ability but it took an hour to finally be given the keys to my truck rental. Then I was double charged for the rental. What is a Safe Move charge? I did not agree to anything other than renting a truck for 2 hours. I would appreciate you looking into this matter and crediting me some kind of refund for my inconvenience and the inconvenience of people that were waiting to help with my move. Please credit my account the 71.48 that you overcharged me. Thank you

very unpleasant experience. There was only 1 person at cashier, helping both grocery customers and U-Haul customer. When processing my return she stops several times to help grocery customers first. After I told her the dolly and blankets are inside the truck, she asked me to go all the way to the truck and take them to show her. When I brought everything inside, she then told me to hang the dolly outside. That is not my job - she should be the one to place them wherever she needs after I showed them all to her. I wasted an unnecessary 20 minutes there..

I called customer service to ask a question and spoke to Tammy. She was extremely rude and hung up on me. I called back and got transferred to her again (apparently she was the only person who could "help me. " she cut me off again, yelled at me, and hung up again. Worst customer service I've ever received. Extremely rude and inconsiderate. She wasn't willing to listen to me at all.

I made the reservation on-line and requested a specific pick-up location. This was not it. I had to go to my original requested location to obtain moving blankets. Not cool. Twice as much work on my end for a simple job - all to spread business around to your partners. Boo hiss.

This has more to do with U-Haul policy than the actual location but the milage that I was given wasn't sufficient for my drive. I only had to pay a little extra but I found that very annoying because I didn't do any extra driving- just to my loading and unloading locations. I had left it with extra gas even.

When I first set up the rental I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone at the location just to confirm. I was also charged $7.15 more than I was supposed to be charged. I would like to be refunded and I will never rent from them again! Contract number 91599779

Worst and most unacceptable experience I have ever been through! I landed in Raleigh, NC at around 10:00am July 16, 2016. I then called and talked to the man (at the original location) and told him I was on my way to pick up my truck. This was around 10:30am. (Confirmation # 89165XXX in Apex, NC) When I got there the idiot told me he had rented out my truck for an hour as he “didn’t think I would get there that quick”. He said the truck would be back by 11:00am. Time passed and it was then 11:30am. Just imagine how I feel at this point and time, as I was supposed to be at the destination by 11:00am, as this is when I began paying the moving folks by the hour. This person is nothing but a greedy individual who wanted to make an extra buck. He is also the reason why I will never rent from U-Haul ever again. (Check out the past rentals I have, as you will see how loyal I have been to U-Haul) He is a disgrace to the U-Haul name and deserves to have his U-Haul privileges taken away. Time and frustration, I was out almost $300, not to mention the stress and frustration this whole experience was to me and my family. By the way, the $50 refund was a spit in the face!!

Make sure the Uhaul representative is at the location when a pick-up is scheduled. Not the best place for a Uhaul rental. This location had lower ratings and now I know why. I spent 20 minutes waiting for the convenience store clerk to figure out how to get me the trailer I ordered online.

This location is a convenience store and U-haul is a lower priority for them. They had trouble getting their computer connected to the internet in order to fill out my contract. They were no help with attaching or detaching the trailer. On the trailer, the ball-locking screw handle was bent and I had a lot of trouble getting on and off of my hitch. Lastly, it didn't help that the workers spoke very little English.

Never was given paperwork for durance, no brochure, gas gauge was less than stated, was given a key and sent to find my truck (which was blocked in by 2 other trucks). When I asked man to move truck for me, he heaved and acted like it was an inconvenience. Not the type of service I had come to expect from U-HAUL locations.

Person at AJs would not let me have my vehicle. He stated I could get it on 6/11 even though my reservation was for 6/10. Had to call UHaul to get him to release the truck to me. This place should not be allowed to continue as a UHaul representative.

AJ's food mart tried to over charge for several things. They tried to charge for two days, when truck was used from 9am-8pm of Dec 15, 2015. They improperly documented fuel level and tried to charge for 19 gallons, which would be the equivalent of driving 133 miles; the truck was driven only 30 miles, adding up to slightly over 4 gallons. Moving is stressful enough, this has only made the experience worse, and the clerks attitude was completely unprofessional. I will never be renting a uhaul from AJ's food mart ever again.
