Tell them the truth when quoting a price. I was told when I reserved my rental that the price would be $1125 but when I got there to pick up the rental it seemed inflation hit the store overnight and was charged $1535. The lady who was at the store was very rude to other customers who came in after me and told them â€œwait your turn. I'm busy.â€ The gentlemen at the store where I turned in the rental was very friendly and when he asked me how was my experience with the company I told him about the problems I had at pickup and he apologized on behalf of the company and told me that I should go online and tell them about my experience. If I had to move again I would definitely get my quote in writing or get quotes from another company before booking there again.Steven B.

I dropped off outside of business hours. There was no jack available that I seen to lift the trailer off the hitch. I lifted the 6x12 trailer off the hitch by myself. Had my wife gone to drop it off she wouldn't have been able to.MIKE W.

It was probably fine if you lived in that area, but we had to drive 69 miles out of way our way to pick it up. Then was charged for the extra miles. If you aren't able to pick up in the location you originally reserve from you shouldn't be charged for the extra miles you have to drive to pick it up!TANIS F.

I wanted a 17' truck but what I got was definitely not that. I think it was an 11' or something. I asked for 2 dollies (appliance and utility) and there was only 1. I originally had it reserved for Manhattan, KS but the reservation was moved to Junction City, KS. I was told it was because none of the 3 Manhattan locations had the equipment I requested, but this one in Junction City certainly didn't either! The address listed for this location brings you to an old, no-longer-in-use storage unit called "Nook and Cranny" and then you have to read the sign on the door to find the new location down the street. It was overall a mess and I won't choose U-Haul again because of all of this. The woman who helped us didn't show us anything about the truck and we couldn't get the mirror on the driver's side to adjust so it was pointed straight at the ground which was useless. the vehicle had an alignment issue. the gas was left below 1/4 tank. the truck itself was dirty inside the cab as well as the bed of the truck. although there is many things to improve on, the staff members were very helpful and informative.Jared R.

The truck was dirty and old. You put your foot on the brake and it downshifted hard. Tap the break again and it downshifted hard again. You couldn't just slow down by using the break normally or you would hit the steering wheel. They didn't have any more trucks so I couldn't trade it or get something else. This is the first time in over 30 years of using U-Haul that I got a filthy old truck that had mechanical issues. Luckily I knew how to drive a vehicle with issues. And if I was going long haul or quite a ways, I would of had to put gas because it was slightly above 1/4 tank and I was told that U-Haul doesn't fill them up. I made my reservation online for a van and a dolly. The van was available however the dolly was not available. The gentleman who was responsible for helping with the contract was more than professional and very helpful. However having to go to another U-Haul authorized dealer for a dolly was a major inconvenience. Not quite certain of where the disconnect was for the online reservation and the actual equipment available. Convenient location and once again the staff was helpful and professional.Mary D.

First, we had the Uhaul rented in Manhattan which is where we needed to pick it up. Then it was moved to Junction City which was about 30 miles out of our way. When we got there instead of being able to return the Uhaul at the most convenient place near where we were moving we were told we had to bring it back to where we rented it from. This added extra miles which added extra money to our bill. Very disappointing, we were under the impression that all Uhauls could be returned anywhere..Stacy P.

The location was fine. But my experience was less than good. I went to the location a day early by mistake, but it was good I did. Uhaul changed the pick up site and didn't notify me. Then the rep at the orginal location advised me I was a day early. I said ok. He said he could change the day. I said let me talk to my son. I call the new location to find it. And find out the original location changed the date! I had to call customer service to straighten it out and ensure I had a truck the next day. When i called to reserve a truck a month in advance the closest site to me was booked . It was only 1/2 a mile from me. The site that I had to pick up from was 3 miles one way from my house. The new pick up was 4 miles. You may say its only a mile or two but when you are moving around the corner on a,shoestring buget, every dollar counts! I don't know if this happens to one way renters but it sounds sneaky to me. Chances are I will NOT use uhaul again.Donna M.

I reserved a utility dolly which was not made available to me. I called in on 10/7 and was hung up on by customer service. Had to go to another location to rent a dolly and pay a $50.00 deposit on top of the rental fees. I was told the dolly would not be charged to me and yet when I received my final bill on 10/10 it was charged to me. I called in and spoke to a gentleman by the name of Joe who insisted I was not charged the 7.00 fee. He left me on hold. I had to call back to customer service and request the fee be removed. I was also charged for fuel even though I didn't use enough fuel for the gage to come off a 1/2 tank. I had to call in several times to have my concerns addressed. The first customer service rep I spoke to on 10/7 was rude and appeared annoyed with my call. The first customer service rep I spoke to on 10/10 also appeared annoyed with my phone call.Julie H.
