I have no issue with uhaul or it’s online process itself. The location is another story. The location called me on the morning of the day I reserved to confirm the time and asked me to call when I was on my way. I called before I left my house and no answer. Called again when I arrived and he wasn’t even there. I had taken care of everything through the online reservation even choosing a no contact pickup. 40 minutes after my reservation time, we were finally able to leave the lot. Unacceptable.

I have rented many times form this location over the years and the owners are very friendly, professional and handle your needs in a timely manner. This time, I rented for one day and needed it for three more, was so busy moving , I forgot to contact for extension and returned it to same location with no issues. The return, was easy.

I can’t say that the gentleman who I turned the unit in to was rude since he said a total of about 5 words, I guess unresponsive would be the best description.

Because of traveling in very bad winter weather, Tony contacted me and kept an eye on me by texting me several times and even giving me weather conditions during my trip.

The truck was very dirty inside the box and all the tires were under pressure on the average 40 to 50 lbs. it took me almost an hour to put air into the tires. This truck was picked up at Arey Lumber in Wysox, Pa. the Wytheville, site was not to blame. It was Wysox location who didn’t have the truck prepared properly.

Tom at the Hickory location was very helpful with us. Tony at the Wytheville location, also, saved us from our frustration. Both men saved us from all the issues with U Haul.

Tony at Appalachian is awesome and his location is so clean and nice. However we had a terrible experience at Rick's Garage in Christiansburg, which is how we ended up at Tony's. Our 5x8 trailer was supposed to be at Dominion Land and Auction, but the day before arrival UHaul changed it to Rick's Garage. None of the 3 available trailers had working running lights. We were pressed for time and this was very frustrating. Not sure why Uhaul changed our pickup location, not sure why Rick had no real interest in fixing the problem other than to put a call in to "the man", which was never returned. Had to deal with 3 different Uhaul reps, the first one put us on hold for 20 minutes and never came back, and the last one with a condescending attitude. Tony's was a breath of fresh air after that fiasco. Trailer was great and perfect for our move.

the truck was fine. my online customer service experience was not. I was in contact with Godfrey Waswa about an issue I had with my previous truck ref #2223646 .Not only did he not follow up with me but he said the issue was resolved. I'm very dissatisfied with his handling if this issue. I spoke to a representative on the phone yesterday who told me he had reopened it. I have sent multiple emails to Gregory and received no response. the representative yesterday said he was also notifying another manager but i have heard nothing.

When searching for a Uhaul rental location in Wytheville, Virginia I was directed to two locations one was closed and the other did not have a truck. Was only by accident that I was able to locate the location at Appalachian Self Storage. The owner was very helpful and I am very grateful. Michael L. Phillips

Told us we had to pick the u-haul up a day early or we would not be guaranteed a u-haul. Also told us the return day was 10-5-18 but we returned it on 10-2-18 and got a late fee charged to us

He was not friendly, did not offer assistance, did not speak well of U-Haul company. I was charged an additional $143.48. On 08/05/18 I was contracted by U-Haul and asked if I could drop off the truck at another location besides Boone, NC - the other locations were not on my route. I stated that I could drive it back to Wytheville and was told that would be acceptable and be given credit for doing so. I then called back on 08/10/2018 to make sure I would not be charged for return trip since I was doing U-Haul a favor by not leaving the truck in Boone, NC and again was told I would be given extra mileage to cover the trip back. I called U-Haul on 08/11/2018 to let them know that I could not return the truck to the Max Meadows location and that the Marshall Street location was closed, I asked whether to leave the truck at a closed location or return in the morning when they were open and was told to wait till they were open. On 08/12/2018, I checked the Marshall Street website and it stated that the location was open, I tried to call twice and only received a recording - no option to leave a message. I went by and no one was in the office, door was locked, I then left the key in the drop box. I was told by U-Haul that by bringing the truck back to Wytheville, VA instead of leaving the truck in Boone, NC that I would be given a credit on my account and not be charged extra for mileage. The additional charge is not acceptable and will be denied.

Truck's a.c. wasn't cooling. Ran rough. Tried using the ap to pick up, HASSLE!!! Still had to call 2 different numbers to get help. You need to execute better technology!

state clearly that when preferred location is not available it could be very far away from desired location to get equipment. Website should not show equipment available when it truly is not! There should be more effort to move equipment to desired areas when website states they are available

While UHaul corporate is FABULOUS, we were treated abominably by the gentleman at this location. Initially I was laughed at when I inquired about a truck rental (apparently holiday weekends are super busy...somehow he expected me to know that) and told "good luck." When we returned the truck and inquired as to a specific charge that was larger than we expected, he became extraordinarily irate. He was shouting at us in front of our 5-year-old daughter telling us he isn't going to waste his time and we needed to just get out. We paid him/UHaul $850 for the truck rental. For that amount of money, we expect an explanation of charges. Even if I have to travel out of town to rent another UHaul, I will NEVER rent from this facility again! And I will tell anyone who will listen that they need to choose a different UHaul place. Very saddened that this individual is allowed to represent UHaul.

When I was charged the extra $600.00 and asked her for her help I was told me that she could not help me. She could not connect H.Q. and I was going to have to do that myself.
