I reserved my equipment needed in advance. As the date for pick-up approached, I contacted the first location I was directed to three days prior to pick-up and was told the truck and tow dolly would be on location ready to go by 10 AM the day of pick-up. The day prior to pick-up (a Sunday) I was called by U-Haul and told that I had to go to a different location to get what had been reserved because "U-Haul doesn't move rentals for convenience of the customer." If I had not already been prepared to move right then, I would have cancelled the whole deal. The facility was worse than a roadside rest area, they have flush toilets and heated buildings. And the equipment I was given proved to be UN-serviceable the very moment we tried to depart and had to be replaced by another facility, that was better prepared to repair or replace your equipment, which resulted in a delay for us, with no compensation.

Know what the customer is there for, especially when a reservation had been made weeks earlier, and make sure the equipment is serviceable. I was given an unsafe and inoperative tow dolly.

After standing in the freezing cold for 15-20 minutes at another location for a U-Haul rep to "verify" my information and being told no, I was livid. I had a 3 bedroom house to pack and move. So, off to Google I went. These lovely people at A-Tech got me right in a truck (the kicker is I was verified so obviously Johnisha in the app had no clue what she was talking about) and on my way. I won't use the app again though, that was ridiculous. Train your employees better.

There needs to be a better inventory tracking system. I selected a 10 foot truck from Oxford, OH (2 mins from my apt) and found out less than 24 hours from my move that my order was changed to a 15 foot truck in Middletown (30 mins from my apt). I shouldn't have been able to even reserve the equipment from that location if it was unavailable. This would help with consumer expectations and I could have planned for the distance + change of plans accordingly. Also when I called customer service about this issue, I was transferred through five different people and it took half an hour for them to send me to the right person - very frustrating. This was an overall terrible experience.

Signed document of $101 and when I left, the company went behind me and created a new document of $185 and charged my credit card twice.
