The truck was dirty and making horrible noises. When we asked the man he said it wasn't his problem and we could go to uhaul location to get another one. We went to the uhual in Northridge and they looked and saw the catyletic converter was gone from the truck . They didn't have a truck to give us so we had to go to another uhual and get a truck .Dale B.

Very unprofessional. I returned the car within one day and owner of this location listed that I hadn't returned the car for 5 days. I just received a parking ticket for a date WHICH I DIDNT EVEN HAVE THE UHAUL IN MY POSSESSION. Worst experience ever I hope no one ever goes through this headache ever again. I have had the worst experience of U-Haul rental with this location. I have been a customer of U-Haul for over 2 decades and never had problems with any rental or locations. I always go to the actual U-Haul rental places rather than individual ones. The guy who helped me is a dishonest and a fraud. His name is Jamshid and goes by name of Josh at Bardi Packaging & shipping. I was supposed to pick up the car on 06/30 at 11am as I had reserved on line few days prior. When I got there, store was closed. After calling several people I was able to find his cell phone number. He finally showed up 20 minutes late and said I don't work on Sundays and came just for you. He gave me bunch of papers to sign and said car is across the street, just pick it up and go. I told him I haven's seen the car to sign the paper, he said don't worry you got SafeMove Insurance and if and problem with gas level let me know. Since I never had any issues with U-Haul, as a good faith I singed all the papers he gave me. His paper showed 1/4 of tank. when I go to truck, it showed 1/8 tank. I called him right away before moving the truck, he said don't worry, just take a picture and I will fix it. So, I returned the truck with the same gas as I left. Now I got a charge of $61.50 for the gas that truck did not have. I'm extremely disgusted with his behavior of dishonesty. I took a picture of the dashboard that shows "48 miles to E" and when I returned it I took another picture that showed "47 miles to E". It didn't show the mileage because the fuel was low. My picture has time stamp along with the location where I took the picture, so no one can deny anything about it. I feel I should call California consumer affairs and put a complain on his business and have the city audit all the mileage and gas that he has been charging people. People like him would damage the reputation of U-Haul. Please call me back as soon as you can and if needed, I can provide all the evidence that I have. I'm confident that corporate office would take care of their clients unlike this place that I would never rent a truck from.Farshid A.

Extremely inconvenient location. Trucks weren't even parked at the location provided but on a street almost a block away. When attempting to use the self serve option it consistently told me I was out of range when I clearly wasn't. Had to call your service line to deal with it and the code to the lock was already pinched in. Anyone could have easily stolen it.Cody G.

Avoid at all costs. Hard to know where to begin, from the impossible to find office (which was locked, you have to wait 15 minutes for a guy to answer the phone and let you in) and ended up being a total asshole, to the van that had the strongest urine smell I've ever experienced, it was all bad all the time. I haven't met anyone so rude and uncaring in a long time, and it was reflected in every aspect of the interaction.IGAL K.

It was difficult to find the office. There is no clear sign so it took us at least minutes which was annoying. The phone number on the website is incorrect, so when I tried to call the office to ask for directions it said this number is no longer in use.SUZZANNE B.

So I contacted the original location I picked it up from. They said they noted the account that the vehicle was dropped off. So why do I have a bill saying I owe for extra day use?? We were charged a $35 cleaning charge after returning the truck. If anything there was maybe a little dust in the bottom. I called the location that we rented it from and spoke to the gentleman we rented it from and he said there was wood left in The truck. There was not any wood left in the truck. Also he did not explain to us when we rented the truck that there would be a cleaning fee. I believe it's only courtesy to explain that to your customer. Even though it is written in the contract, he says. That I will say is my fault. I should have read the contract Word for Word and not trusted him. I am very disappointed. This was a very dissatisfying experience with U-Haul. Also the area where the offices was very cluttered and I was very uncomfortable renting from this gentleman. First i had to wait for the truck i had reserved to rent the day before from the previous renter. The attendee simply checked the mileage and the gas and handed me the keys to the truck. Then when it was time to return the truck i went to refill the gas tank there was a leak from the pipes leading to the trucks gas tank. When i went to return the truck i told the guy what had happened and he said okay give me the keys and you can wait for an email. I wanted to pay my bill right then and there but the guy said he didnt have to right now so i would have to wait. I thought that was very unprofessional because i was there to be honest and simply pay my bill to close my case and he wanted me to just go away. I had to ask for the keys back to take pictures of the mileage and gas tank pipes so i would not be charged for something that was not my fault. I then called the company to let them know what was going on since the attendee refused to do his job. This entire experience of renting the truck was unprofessional and the attendee obviously just wanted to get rid of me. Very unhappy with the serviceLEONEL HUMBERTO R.
They did not have the van. I showed up to pick up the van and they told me that they did not have it. So they told me to call uhaul support because there wasn't anything they could do about it. So I called and sat on hold for almost an hour until someone finally picked up the phone and said they had just opened 20 minutes ago. Then why did the phone prompt say "all of our support members are busy, your call is important to us and we will be with you shortly" instead of "we're closed and open at 9:00". So they didn't have the van ready at 8:00 AM (at the location off of ventura) as they were supposed to, and then the only ones who can do something about it don't open till 9:00 AM? When we finally got the van at a different location, we had driven 30 miles more than we had planned and got it 3 hours late. This put our whole moving day at a hectic and stressful pace. We would have much rather gone with a company who could provide us with a van in accordance with our reservation. So here is how it can improve for the next customer because I probably would not go with uhaul or recommend them to any one again. 1) Have a truck located where a person requests to pick one up. I had to drive to a location 15 miles from my house and back to get a van that wasn't there, Then another 10 to finally get one, when there is a uhaul headquarters one mile from my house. 2) Have a truck located at the time and location you tell a person. Not only could I not get a truck from the location I requested, even though my request was well in advance, the truck was not there at the location uhaul told me to go. So I drove far out of the way to get a truck that was not there. 3) If your "headquarters" are the once who solve these types of problems, rather than each location, then have your headquarters open up at least as early as the rest of your locations. Because then when there are problems like this, there are actually people working who can fix it. 4) Don't have your telephone prompt say "we will be right with you" when they aren't even open. I sat on hold for an hour because of this. 5) When this happens to a person, don't just give them $50.00 off. Give them the truck for free. It is a better guarantee for the customer and it puts more pressure on you to get it right. With all the extra miles I drove yesterday and getting put 3 hours behind schedule, $50.00 was not adequate compensation. It really screwed up our move. I would have gladly paid the full price just to have a truck where I wanted it when I needed it.JUSTIN MARK L.

The place is on the second floor of an office building. Really hard to find. Advertised on site were office hours on Sundays. But upon arrival the office building door was locked. I called the location got message machine. I called customer service for uhaul they put me in touch with the area supervisor. They were able to get a hold of the store and I was able to get truck. The manager of the location was not very helpful. I scheduled movers based on the time he told me he would be there but he was late. This facility was very unprofessional. During his office hours, he rushed me out of his office to leave with some people and did not give me a proper check out. I told him I like a final receipt. He waved me out of his office and said I email it to you. Â I now get an enormous bill with charges that are unreasonable. Furthermore, he obtain an authorization of $90.62 on the date of rental and tried to charge an unauthorize balance because he fail to properly check me out and finalize my rental purchases.
