As we were leaving, the owner said that new tires were on the van but they didn't put enough air in it. He said there was a gas station down the street and to put air in the tire which was done immediately leaving. The gas station was less than a mile away so it wasn't a huge inconvenience. After arriving at my location, I checked the tire and saw that it was low again and it looked like the tire was not installed properly and appeared as it was not completely on the rim. I called the owner to let him know and he said call roadside assistance. I called roadside assistance and was on hold for a little over 30 minutes. The customer service representative (CSR) apologized for the wait, I explained the same thing, she asked me to check to see if there was a spare tire, there wasn't one. She then put me on hold to find someone who could meet me and change the tire. After 10 minutes she returned explaining that the tire was not in stock because it was new and would call back in 15 minutes after calling around for alternative options since the owner of the rental location offered no other option. 15 minutes passed and I was told that a tire could not be located and the wait time for assistance was over 2 hours. There was a gas station 1/2 a mile from my location so I drove there rather than waiting in a warehouse district. The CSR called back and said the wait would be longer than 2 hours and I told her that I only reserved it for 4 hours because my trip was less than 30 miles, round trip and it needed to be back by 1 pm. She said she would extend it free of charge until 4 pm which was when the location closed. She continued to check on me which was thoughtful and appreciated because it took closer to 4 hours before service arrived. I returned the vehicle right as it was about to close at 4pm. It was a few folks ahead of me but, this location rented lawn equipment so they were there for a different reason. The lady didn't address me specifically but let us know that it would be a few minutes because the owner was outside dealing with another customer. Another employee entered and asked what assistance i needed and told the lady, she assumed I was with one of the gentlemen that was in the store before me, probably because we were the same ethnicity. After being told that were not there for the same reason, she proceeded to help. The owner arrived moments later while we were being assisted and said he would email the receipt, no apology, no show of an ounce of concern. I returned to my vehicle and checked my receipt because the smell of fumes and chemicals made it uncomfortable to breathe. To my surprise, the invoice went from an estimate of $65 to $199. I attempted to go back inside but the owner looked up and left. Worst experience ever. I was charged for their error and delay.ERICA S.

I'm dissatisfied with my overall experience. I was changed from the location from where I wanted to pickup. the trailer was filthy and had to be cleaned before I could load my stuff. the trailer leaked water while driving in the rain and my things got wet. you had 2 weeks to get me a trailer to where I made my reservation. I was charged a different rate than what I was quoted. I called and complained and was told a manager would call me and now its been 9 days and no manager has called me . next time I will take my chances and save $300.00 with a open trailer from a friend and at this point in time I CAN NOT AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND U HAUL TO ANYONE.THOMAS M.

Truck had leftover food wrappers and drink bottles but other than that great truck and great experience. Truck needs an oil change. Gears shifts really slowly.Drew S.
Charlie at Blade's Lawnmower was very polite. He had multiple people working at his business, so he didn't have to stop to take care of other customers while helping us. He was polite, knowledgeable and friendly. We will use his location again if the need ever arises.Michael B.

The corporate phone number is always a long wait to speak with someone, and I tried to submit the statement below to 777005_AFM@uhaul.com but it was undelivered. To Whom it May Concern, I am not satisfied with the first half of our trip where the air conditioning and the fan did not work. We drove through the Mohave Desert with temperatures of 115 degrees and other area with up to 110 degrees. We were finally able to determine that at I-40 highway speeds (75 mph) the air would not work. This is unacceptable for cross country trips. Bob and Josh ByleJOSHUA B.
This was the third location we went to. The truck wasn't available at the first location even though it is â€œguaranteed.â€ Was told to go to another location because there was not another truck available in 50 miles. This location was 30 miles away. Upon arriving at the second location I found out that the location I was told to go to, had not been doing Uhaul for months. Then sat on hold for an hour to find out where my truck had gone. At this point there is still no truck available even though it's been â€œguaranteedâ€ at the first location and â€œguaranteedâ€ at the second location. Finally got a third location and drove another 20 miles to get my truck. A comment to improve the service, get your admin and service sides of the company on the same page. By the way, after hearing many other stories I was a lucky customer. My best advice if this is public viewing of this comment, go with Penske, they actually guarantee your product.DANIEL H.

I want to start by saying that Charlie was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! My experience with U-HAUL specifically was horrible, set me back several hours and was a nightmare getting in touch with anyone. Every issue was due to a U-Haul representative. I called last week, I believe Monday, to schedule a pick-up for 6 PM Jan 31 and when I got to the location, no one was there. The site wasn't set up to do things virtually, and the office was clearly closed on Sundays. The representative did not verify this, they recommended that location and confirmed everything without making sure it was even possible. When we got there, I spent 45 minutes on the phone after an almost 20 minute wait for someone to answer being told I'd have to drive to another location 40 minutes away, in the OPPOSITE direction of my home, to pick up an available truck. When we finally got there, the site had no option whatsoever to pick up. I signed in, completed everything required, logged out and back in, used a different phone, still no option to actually begin the pick-up and get code for keys. After a while and LOTS of frustration, I got a call from Charlie at Blades Lawnmower Shop. He said he saw us pull up on the camera and offered to drive over and help out. He had to leave his house when the location was already closed to come in and help us pick up the truck. I thanked him several times and want whoever reads this to make sure he receives this praise, it was amazing of him to leave after dark and in the rain to come help us. I finally had the truck and paid around 8:20 PM Sunday. U-Haul wasted several hours of my time, charged me MORE for the new truck after messing up my original pick up, put us half a day behind, and I was charged the same price for one day as I was supposed to originally be charged for the two days - this meant I had to return the truck and finish moving almost an hour away with 4 separate trips in my own vehicle. I requested a ticket be opened to discuss this and be properly compensated, and I'm not surprised I still have not been contacted. I was also charged again when dropping off - when I picked up, I paid at the Blades Lawnmower Shop location $155. Upon dropoff, I was asked to pay another $80, to which I tried to dispute, again no one has responded. I now have a receipt saying I'm being charged for an extra day for $40, when I went through hell to return same day at the time I picked up. We were at the drop-off location with plenty of time, but the site errored out repeatedly when adding images and going through the steps wasting even more time. This is the worst experience I've ever had moving and although I'm sure no one cares, I won't be using U-Haul again. Charlie was the only good thing about this entire process, learn something from him. Your interface is terrible, the representatives are lazy with their responses and confirmations, and charging for an extra day when I picked up at 8:20 and returned at 7:30 the next day is flat-out stealing.KAILEY C.
