No problem with the Kincardine location. The rest of my Uhaul experience was absolutely terrible. I reserved a 26' truck two months ago to go one way from Peterborough. two weeks ago I get a message left on my phone saying that it was no longer available and you were switching it to a 15' truck. Unacceptable. I worked with an agent who found me a 26' truck to be picked up in Port Elgin, driven to Peterborough empty, filled with a house worth of contents, then returned back to Port Elgin. Fine, that would have to do. Then not 20 hours before I am to pick up the 26' truck I get an email saying that my 17' truck would be available for pick-up in Kincardine the next afternoon! I worked with an agent who eventually found me a 15' truck and trailer but unfortunately they were not big enough and I had to call in reinforcements with another truck and trailer. I have tried to rent through your website and have not succeeded as the website is horrible. The trailer I wanted was in Kincardine where I wanted it but your website would only send me to Port Elgin. In order to rent I had to go direct to the location and ignore the website. The website should show all trailer choices at a location so I can choose rather than having to pick trailer after trailer trying to get my preferred location only to have your website redirect me 50 miles away and only letting me know this at the very end and in very small print which could easily be missed. Vehicle has substantial damage and marks. The doors of the vehicle were extremely hard to close and often didn't close properly. Starting a rental with only 1/4tank a gas makes the whole process more challenging than needed. It would be more convenient to have a near full tank of gas so the user could better gauge how much fuel to add and to not have to start the move at a gas station.Kevin B.
I made my reservation weeks in advance to guarantee I would get what I needed. On pickup day The size of truck I reserved was not available. Reserved a one-way rentalâ€¦.not available as I had to return it. This cost me double the mileage and fuel. Extremely disappointed with the uhaul reservation system. I called the district reservation manager and she agreed the system is grossly inaccurate and inadequate.Colin P.

I was supposed to pick up a truck in Hanover for 2 days and U-Haul changed my reservation to 1 day and I had to pick it up in Kincardine. I've sent e mails asking for a representative to contact me about reimbursement for the kms from Kincardine to Hanover no call. I would NEVER recommend U-Haul to anyone.ANDREW P.

I will never rent from Daisy Mart Esso Kincardine ever again. No one contacted me to confirm my rental even though I reserved a week in advance. When I go there day of, the equipment wasn't there and instead of apologizing, he went immediately to defense saying it wasn't verified to me, and gave me the uhaul 1800 number and told me to call them to figure it out myself. They didn't have a dedicated counter so we stood in front of a display of bongs and other smoking paraphernalia. When we went to hook up a trailer, they just said, "There it is, are you OK?" If i wasn't experienced with towing and with your trailers in particular. I would have been sunk. No explanation, no walk around, nothing.Rodney G.

There is a pandemic COVID-19 going on. The two men at this store were not wearing masks. There is Plexiglass up at the counter but he kept having me go to the other end of the counter to finish the transaction where there is no Plexiglass. The truck had french fries on the floor when I was asked to move it to the front of the store. It had been dropped off after hours the night before and not cleaned yet when I picked it up 30 minutes latter than my scheduled pick up time. So I know it was not disinfected between customers. I did all my checkout on line to save time at the pick up and reduce contact with people. It took over 30 minutes to check out the truck while having to be in the store with customers coming and going and some not wearing masks. The one man was very friendly and did his best. Location was the wrong location for my pick up. It cost me 3 hrs of my time. Irrespective of that, the place was dirty and the owner who serviced me was awful. He tried to scam me out of the dozen blankets I preordered and I had to force the issue in order to get them.Craig M.

There was dead bugs in the truck, also had a horrible time trying to pick up with the mobile app. We had to change locations to pick up because we could not get it verified with the agent. First it was because the drivers license picture did not look the same as the picture I took, we had to send about 5 seperate pictures. I told her it was a 5 year difference from the photos, she said that was not the problem. She had problem with verifying the alternate contact, I told her twice that the ones we put down would not answer and I have to give her two new ones. She did not take the new ones and cancelled the chat and said we need to go to a different location to get it verified in person. It took us 2 hours to get the uhaul when it was already a busy moving day for us. All while this happened we were on the phone with a representative from uhaul who was helping us, and even she said the agent was being rude and making things frustrating for us.JACOBMICHAEL K.

The blankets I rented came out of a plastic bag and were wet dirty and had and smelt like mold. Didn't want to use them because they were that wet and filthy. Shouldn't have even been given to customers. Also there were blankets already laying all over the floor in the back of the truck and a dolly.robert J.
I made me reservation online the day before and when I arrived the vehicle I rented was buried in snow. I had to ask the person running the rental pick-up location/gas bar to clear it off for me. It wouldn't have been done had I not asked. In my opinion my rental should have been cleared of snow and ready for me. Then, since the vehicle wasn't equipped with snow tires, it took us 15 minutes to get it out of the parking spot and again had to ask for help. It was basically a half hour after I arrived that I was on the road. Overall the truck was suitable for what I needed it for but I think that this particular location needs to be more attentive to their fleet, especially in the winter months.Melissa L.

The dealer charged for 5 days instead of 4 days. The trailer was not available for pickup at the given time. The dealer charged insurance when we declined. The owner was not very nice or helpful. He said his computer had not been working that morning, I was to pick up my truck at 9, I wait over 15 mins before he decided to do a manual (paper) rental contract. He said he already did another manual rental contract for another customer that morning. Why I had to wait so long before he decided to do it, i have no idea. He proceeded to slowly enter the information, he obviously didn't know how to fill out the contract. He very poorly explained any of the contract information, gave me the keys and didn't even bother to show me where the truck was. As I was about to pull away, he came outside and said his computer was now working and I could pay for the rental. I wanted to pay visa and after multiple attempt to process the card (his visa machine was not working either) he demanded that I pay cash or I couldn't take the truck. Ofcourse i didn't have the cash on me and was forced to use the back machine in his gas station, occurring a service fee on that as well. He charged an extra $100 since I was forced to pay in cash, he said I would get it back when I returned the truck to the next location. I did not get the money back at the next location and was told it would be mailed to me in 3 weeks! It took over 45 minutes to get the moving truck. I will never return to that location ever and I will tell everyone I know to avoid going to that business for anything, rental truck or otherwise.Valerie C.

The only problem that we had was not related to the personnel or to any pickup or dropoff point but for the UHaul service in general. We had booked the truck for pickup at 10:30am but we received an email the day before and our pickup was re-scheduled to 12pm. These things should not happen because we had already made our plans which had to be delayed by 1.5hours and we also ended up delaying a lot that night because of this re-schedule.Alexia P.
