Find a better place to have your equipment rented from. When i rented the auto hauler the U haul Rep could not speak English well had a hard time understanding him also had to wait for the Rep to come back after leaving to take is daughter to school costing be 20 min of my time. I had to wait nearly an hour to get the van because the dealers equipment would not take the payment so he had to call another location to do the paperwork (hence I didn't receive a copy of the agreement until later). The interior of the van was filthy. Looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in a while. The windshield was covered with ice and snow which I had to clean off because the dealer had nothing to clear it off with. That took an additional 20 minutes. When I returned the vehicle I was charged for 45 miles. The move from one apartment to the other was about 3 miles. We made2 trips...12 miles.. I also used my car during the move and and even counting the trip there from my home in Salem, Va I only had a total of 53.1miles. I am totally disappointed with the service and condition of the vehicle.JOHNERNEST C.

Firstly, I would make sure to contact the location of pickup to make sure that they are cooperating with the uhaul contracts. I had to change my location because the one I initially chose was not open on time, had no cell service, and also didn't pick up the phone when I called from a place with cell service. There was also another person waiting there to return equipment that also couldn't get in contact with the location. This location was Rick's Garage in Christiansburg, VA. I had to end up changing my location to a different one and had to delay my move for 1.5 hours because of this.Trinity C.
The U-haul I got was not in a good condition. Especially the body and left and right indicators. The U-haul should be repaired before giving it to anyone. I used it only for one day but why they took money for two days I do not know.MD MAHBUBUR R.

Truck was covered in bugs, cargo area was dirty, mud tracks left, cabin had mud left. Didn't get link to verify condition until after I got it home, mileage was incorrect, couldn't dispute because again, link wasn't received until after I got home. I do have picture of correct mileage out.Justin J.

This location was very dark and was very dirty and old the gentleman that was at this location was very hard to understand there was a language barrier and was on his phone all the time and was only interested in his phone I asked about a credit for returning the truck early had no answer. I called your 800 number earlier and got no customer service at all I spoke to Christina I had explain to her truck was pulling to left she told me that I had done something to your truck and then hang up on me. I then called the Allentown stir spoke to Logan who also gave me no customer service and hang up me as well. This was the worse experience I have had with a trunk rental company.SEAN R.

I bumped into an awning (no damage to the truck) and it fell. I had bought your Safemove insurance, which had an exclusion for overhead accidents. This must have been in the fine print. I find this to be sleazy. However, I learned that there was a court ruling stating the rental vehicle companies must cover such accidents if they occur in Virginia. I hope that UHaul will step up. drop off : we ended up overfilling the tank to make sure we were not short.....but put an extra $20 in *facepalm* I know you charge extra if you do not bring back the truck to AT LEAST where you picked it up, butbi wish you would also offer a credit if you put too much in. agent is very rude, the location is run down and very congested, don't know why so much inventory is there. no room to pull in and back trailer, had to back it almost a hundred yards to the far end of the lot, the place where the agent wanted the trailer parked was on a incline and provided no chocks for the trailer and he would not disconnect the unit from my truck, as soon as I picked up the tongue from the ball the trailer rolled into my truck and was very difficult to get the tongue on the ground at which time the trailer roller under my truck. this agent stated it was not his job to disconnect the trailer and just walked away, he is going to get someone hurt and get you sued.James B.

As of July 2020, the Foodette store is CLOSED so they won't answer the phone. Use the online check-in. It's so easy. The truck was clean, smelled nice, and full of gas. It was the quickest uhaul pickup I've done, and I've done a few moves.Gwendolyn W.

Terrible service, worker did not understand anything I was saying. Then I was given a defective truck and overcharged for time because the TRUCK DIED. I called the shop 17 times and no one answered, yet I was still charged $70 for over time. Worst service I have ever had.Dhyan F.
Ensure tire pressures are correct. At least one or two of the tires 20-30 lbs under inflated with no equipment on location to inflate tires. Also ensure all lights are operational. Several bulbs were burned out and not replaced. Attitude at pickup location was take it or leave it. Trailer was clean inside and did not leak in rain storms.Susan T.

The online check in and check out do not work well. The service at this location was terrible. It took them an hour to find the key. We had a drop off time of 5, but the location closed at 3. Worst experience I've ever had !! He Hates Americans with a nasty grumpy attitude. He over charged me $180. Mr. Miller the Supervisor refunded me the $180 . my bank statement shows I was charged again $405 today. I called UHAUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. MR. MILLER sent me a text and stated the bank will have it corrected by monday. Stay away from the UHAUL FAIRLAWN VA FOODETTE!!! THE FBI NEEDS TO CHECK THIS PLACE !!!!Aaron j M.

I had scheduled a rental in Blacksburg, VA, but received an email the day prior to the rental notifying me that the rental was moved to Radford, VA at Rick's Garage. When I arrived to pick-up the trailer, Rick's Garage was closed. I contacted Rick via phone, who told me he was sick and not opening up. I finally convinced him to open and he arrived 15 minutes later. Once he arrived, he was occupied with a police matter and refused to serve me until the police matter was resolved, which I anticipated may have taken many hours. After arguing unsuccessfully with him for 10 minutes about trying to get me set up with the rental while he waited for the police to respond, I departed and contacted Uhaul. The Uhaul customer service rep (Ali?) was very helpful and got me set up with a rental from the Fairlawn, VA location. Rick's garage in Randford, VA is a terrible representative for Uhaul and their franchise should be revoked.Mark R.

If a customer makes a reservation for some type of equipment move it up front rather than have it tucked in the back. Also if you are helping the customer perform checks be honest when you find something wrong. The customer shouldn't have to call 10-15 minutes later stating that such and such is wrong with the equipment. As customers we place an enormous amount of trust on these individuals to help us out and it seems like a whole lot was hidden only to be discovered later. If I had to get equipment from this location again, I would not trust them at all.Darrell S.

It was an overall good experience driving a 17' truck. I drove the truck from southwest VA to NH (approximately 750 miles), and I stopped twice to fill-up (stopping when the vehicle reached approximately one-quarter of a tank). I have no idea how often the vehicles are serviced, but the transmission had a serious lag at times prior to shifting. Also, the wiper blades needed replacing. I was also not aware that I was renting the moving blankets. Certain things, such as the blankets, may need more specificity. U-haul helps with locating hired help to pack and unpack, via a different website. My recommendation is that U-haul should also include recommendations for apps to use regarding truck routes. Trucks are not permitted on certain parkways in some areas. This would alleviate an unknowing driver be better prepared in areas he/she may not be familiar with.SEKONDI F.

Check-in was very quickly handled. I don't know the name of the man who handled it but he was very friendly and patient. Returning the truck was equally easy. Easy to get in and out of their parking area. The pickup truck itself was very clean and I had no problems driving it despite having never driven one before. It goes into a kind of sleep mode when waiting at a stoplight, which took getting used to.Elizabeth M.

When I got the trailer he did not even walk out to aid me but when I took it back he made me walk out with him and he took pictures of the trailer.
