U-Haul needs to provide better customer service. Went to rental location expecting to use 24/7. Everything seemed to be in order, but my iPhone 12 Promax and U-Haul could not find my location. My share location was turned on on my phone. Rental location was closed. Tried the U-Haul 800 number. On hold for 30 minutes and no answer. I called an affiliated rental location and they saved the day. They deserve an A+. 24/7 would be convenient in theory, if it worked. Shift staff to 800 number. What if it was an emergency??? U-Haul gets an FCRAIG P.

My only concern at this time is we are experiencing a surge in Covid-19 spread and when I picked up the cargo van the two girls in the office were maskless. I did wear a mask which might have reminded them to put on the mask I saw on their desks but they did not. I worried when I got into the truck whether or not the surfaces in the cab were sanitized after the last user. I'm betting probably not.Patricia L.
I made this reservation for two vans in October. I specifically needed vans because we were transporting poinsettias for a CB East Lacrosse fundraiser, and the flowers needed to be kept warm. The morning of pick-up we were told we were 'upgraded' to a 10' truck, which didn't help because it doesn't have heat in the back. We were only upgraded because they didn't have the vans that were promised to us. I was back and forth on the phone with two women in scheduling on the day of our event trying to sort this out, and I was basically told that specific vehicles can't be promised ahead of time - she explained that you never know when people don't return them on time, etc. There was no remorse, no apology, and when I showed well-founded frustration, she was simply rude and annoyed with me. It was clear she wanted me off the phone. Eventually they were able to secure two vans at two different locations, which meant the drivers had to leave work early to get there in time for our flower distribution because of the extra driving. In making those changes, they sent the wrong name in the confirmation email. When I called back to make sure that was okay, the same woman was again rude and off-putting. From beginning to end, the entire transaction was a mess. The whole experience was honestly just unexpected and upsetting. Why should the customer be made to feel bad because U-haul didn't follow through on their promise? And the fact that both women I dealt with didn't even try to hide their rudeness is unreal. This was not the fault of the location but I was not happy that two days before my rental, my reservation was changed from a 20 ft to a 15 ft truck that was 30 miles away instead of 8 miles away. The allowable mileage was adjusted so I didn't have any mileage overages. Fortunately, the 15 foot truck was big enough.Peter S.
Smart phone App pick-up was difficult and return was a mess. Spent a half hour on the phone with trying to return the Van. Rep tried to help with the App but could not help me. Told me to take the pics and text them to a phone number that he provided. Took all the right picks. Next day tried calling the Good Times Rental location for proper billing. They were rued and and useless. They also provided a number to text the pics nothing came of it. Today I got hit with $354.78 charge for driving 1100 miles in 2 hours and 45 min. Which obviously is not possible. Just called U-Haul directly and we are trying to resolve this. A week of BS!!!! and my time. REALLY!!!!!!Silvana G.

Wanted to pick the van up at 10am. Started the mobile checkout process and that took 50 minutes. Did not get out of there till 11am. Thought the location was supposed to be open on Saturdays, but no one was there. Tried call the location's number - no one answered. Called U-Haul twice - was put on hold each time for over 10 minutes, until the app finally approved my rental. Not sure if the website or app mentions the amount of time it takes for this type of checkout, but it should.Steven L.

When making the reservation online I chose a pick up location less than 10 mins from my house. Was never informed until the night BEFORE that I would have to drive 1 hour to get the truck, PLUS have someone drive me there in our own car back and forth using our fuel and the fuel in the U haul. The equipment rental went fine. The only difficulty I encountered was find a cargo van to rent in my area. I understand you are in the rental business but renting all of you vans to USPS, Amazon, UPS and the like; really screws your local renters who use your service's the other 11 months of the year. Maybe a better policy would be to keep some vans in strategic locations or within a certain mile radius of locations . If the Amazons of this world are doing so well business wise, let them go out and buy their own cargo van fleets. There by let people who need to move during the months of November and December that option.john S.

Frankly, I was extremely disappointed. When I came in the FIRST time, I told the staff I needed a trailer hitch for a travel trailer. They installed one for a cargo trailer. When I came back, I had to pay all over again for installing a new wire harness that could have been installed correctly to begin with. A true lack of curiosity on their part in asking and confirming what I needed. And a very "hey, we're doing you a favor here" attitude. Not at all impressed. I won't be back, and I have warned off several of my friends who were going to go there.Mary S.

Any problems we had were started by the online reservation system being confusing. The trailer we were renting was not at the location where we reserved it. We had to drive 40 minutes away to pick it up. The woman I dealt with at GTR was not very sympathetic. She almost seemed angry that she had to deal with me. Not specific to this location but more a comment in general. I drove very few miles all together, this used only a slight amour of gas. I was honest and marked the new gas reading and was shocked at a flat fee of $30. I really think it should be a prorated fee based on how much gas you used. Again not specific to this location and I don't expect this will change any policies for corporate, but you asked for my opinion.TJ C.
