The particular truck I rented seemed like it had no pickup ability at all even when empty. Dry road conditions and tow/haul made zero difference. I've driven the same kind/size of truck on prior moves and they were much better in terms of the feel of driving them. Maybe check up a little more often on trucks that are not at a uhaul site?Carissa H.

The location had no idea how to check out the truck. It took 1/2 hour to check out a truck that I was only renting for 2 hours. Then when I returned the truck 15 minutes later than planned I was charged 3/4 the price I already paid.Nicole M.
I was called 4 times on Saturday while I was packing up the truck to let me know where I was dropping off the truck. It was pretty annoying to say the least. I would think a company of your size would have better record keeping to know that I had already been called....in fact it was confirmed the day before where I would be dropping the truck off.....CANDACE M.
I rented a mattress pad with my rental package. The associate I worked with at pick up had no knowledge of the mattress bag and didn't even have it. I found out after the move in that the bag was found at another location. I wish someone in person had informed me instead of me trying to juggle where all my materials were. The associate did throw in more furniture pads at no extra charge to compensate. I do appreciate being in contact with the Uhaul storage unit where all my things were from a previous move. They granted me more miles at no extra charge since to compensate for the extra drive picking up the truck and turning it in.Laura E.

It was a mess picking up and dropping off the truck. I was told I was lucky to have a truck by customer service because they cancel on people a lot? That should have been explained to me during my reservation. Not the day before my move....very unorganized. Lacked basic communication between the company and customer which makes me never want to rent with uhaul again. The truck worked out, but everything was stressful and a mess.Alexis M.
Not tell me to check in on line and then re-check in person. Change my location the day before, but 2-years ago you changed the location the morning of my move. Not confirm a truck at a certain location if you cannot provide. Call and ask if I'm returning the truck soon because my drop off was April 27th, when really I book the 17' UHaul for Sunday, April 25th for 6 hours. We picked it up about 9am and returned around 2:45pm.DALE D.

The truck was completely frozen. It took 45 minutes to get the ice off of the windsheild so I could drive. Then once I arrived to pick up my bulk item, i couldn't get the back open because it also was frozen. I had to borrow heavy tools to pry the lock open and it took 3 people to pull the door up because it was frozen at the seam. I know cold weather presents challenges but when you are charging by the hour it's not acceptable to waste over 1/3 of my time making the equipment functional.Michael N.

Had to wait for clerk to tend to gas station customers. Returned truck before noon and this clerk did not do paperwork until 410 pm. this is unacceptable. Uhaul tried to charge me for additional day. In my opinion this magnitude of negligence is criminal.Michael C.
The lady who checked me in took 45min. And from what I saw it was From a lack of training. She handled the check in the best she could and was able to have uhaul help walk her through the process. I did end up returning my rental 15 min prior to to my time but when my receipt was given it said I was 13 min past due time. The woman that was there when I returned the truck was on her cell phone the whole time and just told me to leave the keys. I was going to ask her a few questions but her phone call about her date night was a bit more important. this was the only location that had trucks available so that was very nice in a pinch. Suggestion.. train your employees, if a customer comes in, put down your personal phone and help them and then return to your phone after.Kelly H.

Terrible experience. Dirty van with old furniture left in it. Clerk at the gas station did not know how to help. Called customer service multiple times, due to issues checking in (I opted for mobile check in, and then for some reason still had to go in to get the key). the mobile check in took 45 min for them to process me. the mileage was 200 miles off. i called customer service again and they told me it was fine and they corrected it. upon my return, could not check in van because mileage was so off. called customer service for a 3rd time and talked to 3 different people. someone finally said i should email them photos. i then let uhaul on facebook know and they told me they would investigate but continued to ask me for photos of before and after. i explained multiple times i didn't have them but uploaded them to YOUR site for check in. all in all it was an awful experience. no one could assure me i wasn't going to be charged for the 200 mile difference even though i reported it right away. i ended up talking to 11 people from uhaul in one day with no actual help. i am alarmed that even when i reached out to costumer service and the facebook team, no apologies or attempts were made to preserve me as a costumer. i will say the regional team and manager were helpful but they were the only positive part of this experience. definitely will use home depot truck rental in the future.Kennedy W.

When I arrived, the gal inside the station told me I had to check in online. I proceeded to do that. I did not receive a code to get in the box to get the key. The gal behind the counter, bless her ehart was trying to assist me when her manager came out and barked at her, take care of the customers! I turned to him and said, I AM A CUSTOMER! He said the others! and turned to walk back into his office, I asked him if he knew what to do in the case of not having a code to get the key for uhaul. He said I dont have any idea about that! ok! The gal finally called uhaul and got the code for the store and opened the box and gave me the key-this all took about 45 minutes! I was late arriving for my movers! Then on bringing the truck back, thank God the place was still open, the key would not fit in the box! What a shambles!Sharilee S.

This has been the worst experience ever. And the fact to be told by your customer service manager to "Go Fuck Yourself". What else can I expect when your CS is down the drain? And I was supposed to have received a call from your general manager, never did. I called customer service again, no one called me back and the person in WI who took my call said she couldn't help because she was based out of WI. Seriously?! We are never going to use Uhaul again and we are going to spread the word to our family and friends as well. I never received the copies of phone calls that I requested nor the $14 fraudulent charge for Save whatever that I never authorized.john B.

I never received a receipt from this location for the rental of the truck. When I dropped it off, the keys were taken from me and I was dismissed without ever being told how my mileage would be compiled. I found out the next day that the truck was never checked in when I got a phone call asking me when I was going to return the truck (it was returned the same day as the rental at the same location at 4pm). UHaul corporation itself was not helpful, as they sent me to pick up the truck (Lakemoor) at a location that DID NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TRUCK. Only when I was at that location was I told that I had to go to another location for the truck. I will probably never use UHaul again.Sara P.

I rented a 15 ft. Box truck. I took the truck and packed it completely. But when I tried to pull the door closed, the door would not close. After some time, I protected my goods by binding the boxes with twine. No damage. But if I had had to unpack that truck, get another truck, etc. I would be really upset. When I went to pick up the trailer I saw that the one I originally set up would be too small and I changed my rental to a larger trailer while I was at this location. The person at this location was very helpful and was able to get the Crystal lake, IL location on the phone and I was able to change and go right away. This was a great experience. Thank you.Greg W.

Nothing about the experience was professional. The cargo van had a door that I could hardly close because of binding on the roof. No one even bothered to offer a safety check on the lights until I asked them. I had to walk back myself and connect the trailer. I understand that since it is a gas station and there was only one person there, that it would be hard to run to the back lot to help, but if they are listed as a Uhaul provider, there should be a minimum amount of professional attitude and procedure.
