Business was not open when we arrived at the scheduled pickup time. We left with 30 minutes delay. No covid safety procedures, didn't even wear a mask or disinfect the keys. The dolly we had paid for was not provided to us and later when we told him we were missing the dolly in the back of the van as promised he said we just should have picked it up from the back if the room. But there was no way of knowing that.Andrew C.
Well I made a reservation for 5:00 pm, the location did not open until 5:45 pm. When I asked if they would be open to return it at 5:00 pm the following day, they assured me that it would be. In reality they did not open until 5:30 PM.Wayne M.

When renting a UHAUL truck from the Davie St location in downtown Vancouver I never imagined waiting for a Dosa restaurant to cook and serve food in south Vancouver for my pick-up location. I booked a 10' truck, then realized without the over cab section not everything would fit. UHAUL handled the up-sizing to 15' truck quickly and easily. I'd done the online sign in and confirmation, so expected to walk in pick up keys and be on my way. Sadly not so. Not only was the pick up location a half hour drive away (not the bottom of the street as originally planned) it was an active restaurant where it took over an hour to pick up the vehicle. The chef owner kept me waiting as he was cooking in the back. Then struggled with the computer, having to make more than one call, and then issued keys for the wrong truck. Meaning had to go back inside and wait fro 2 more table to be served. He then delivered the dolly and 12 blankets through the active kitchen past food cooking. All my preordered details had be re-entered and frankly the whole experience was a joke... after an hour I lost my cool and insisted he adjust the pick up time and finish the job so I could go, as had folks waiting to help load the truck. I arrived early calm and hopeful, and left annoyed. The rest of the move went smoothy, the truck preformed as expected. They are thirsty on gas. And everything arrived in good shape. So happy to be done. On return, there was no clear indication as where to park, or drop keys. In the confusion I locked the keys in the cab, requiring recovery service (not included in the extra insurance I paid for call "Easy Ride" costing an extra $66. I know it is CoVid and we're lucky to have services available. but no paperwork meant no clues on how to follow instructions. In total I have 10 emails from UHAUL... all very confusing. Moving time is complicated enough without this kind of poor service ! Why would UHAUL use Dosa Hut as a pick-up location, when the main Vancouver UHAUL pick-up is not far away on Marine Drive. Very odd. Very not cool. Very much a waste of time and one of the only real sources of stress in the whole move. Either train the Dosa House how to offer proper service for UHAUL customers (you charge a premium saying "do it right") or shut this location down. I expected a lot more from a national and international brand. I don't mind paying a premium for good service. Sadly this was not the case... so yes I mind ! And would highly recommend NOT using DOSA Hut on Fraser St to rent your truck and moving supplies. When he handed me 12 blankets they fell on the restaurant floor. Not CoVid safe/clean. This can't be food safe either. UHAUL you can do much better than this !John H.

The location was confusing. There was really no place to park the truck. Some local resident/neighbour got mad that we were parking on the street which was right in front of the U-haul office. Just very confused.Michael T.
Charged me for Dolly, but I could not get access to the dolly because the "office" was locked and the employee was gone. Also, the fuel guage was at 1/2 full when I picked up the van, but the contract arrived by email later and it was set at 7/8 full (if I had not noticed this and if I had not raised it when returning, they would have charged me too much for gas as well).Donald L.
