I would only recommend this location for the customer service. It was the only part of this experience that there was not a problem. I made a reservation on May1st. 2021. The location changed three times, with the last one being the day before pickup with a text at 3:15 pm. This was extremely inconvenient and also was 25 miles away from my home. The time change of the pickup caused our trip to be extended and unnecessary delays getting to our destination. No one contacted me about any time or location changes for 3 months and 13 days and you wait until the day before with a text at 3:15 pm when I am at work and luckily caught it. The drop off process was horrible because there were no parking spots for return. As said, the only part of this rental I would recommend was the customer service of the associate. She was extremely professional and very helpful. I pray I never have to use your company again because I would rather make four to five trips in a personal vehicle than have to deal with your organization again! And, lastly, with all the locations all over Columbia and the time we put in for the rental, someone(anyone) could have taken five seconds and looked to see if there was a closer location for pickup. But I guess I would be asking someone to do their job!Valencia H.

I scheduled to pick up a truck at the location on Bluff Rd in Columbia, SC. I then scheduled to have storage at the location on Knox Abbott Dr in Columbia, SC. Both of these locations were within 3 miles of my apartment. Picking up the truck was not much of a problem. It did take longer than expected for someone to approve my picking it up since I did a mobile check-in but after making a few calls and being put on hold for the millionth time that day someone finally approved it and told me where the key was about 15 minutes after my pick-up time. However, this did not factor into my 3 hour time limit and I now only had 2 hours and 45 minutes with the truck. The real problems came when I got to the Knox Abbott location, which is where my receipt confirmation told me to go, and they did not have storage for me. Instead, they sent me to their location on Two Notch, which was nearly 20 miles from both my apartment and the truck return. I'm happy they found alternative storage the day of, but am very upset that I had to drive over 50 miles that day, as opposed to the 10 I had planned on, especially with the truck charging 99 cents per mile as well as having to refill all the gas I used and now much of my 3 hour time limit with the truck was being wasted with about an hour total of driving. The U-Haul website is horrible to try and navigate. Information is not communicated clearly between locations. Both of the employees at the Knoxx Abbott Dr. and Two Notch location were very rude to me treating me as though I was stupid. I just graduated and this was my first time ever coordinating a move on my own and U-Haul made it a horrible experience that I will not be recommending to any of my friends or parents of people looking to move their kids. I saw in my school's Facebook page many different complaints from other people in Columbia who had similar issues with being told one thing, and that not being true when the time came for them to go to U-Haul. I'm not a very tech savvy person, the truck was due back at 4:00 p.m. on sat.july 25th. I returned at roughly 2:45 p.m. I used the online app to return because the return drop off had closed. It was easy and useful. Thank you for making a quick move easy.Patrick B.

not sure. The person handling the rental was not even on the premises. Dealt with them over the phone. Trailer was in need of upgrading. Out of three trailers they had on the lot it was the worst looking one. Trailer was musky smelling inside. I took the trailer anyway as I was on a tight schedule and didn't have time to deal with them over the phone to get a different trailer.John F.

I requested pick up from a specific location and I was very frustrated to find when I arrived at my requested location that my pick up was changed to a different side of town and I was not specifically notified. There was no email contact and the location that confirmed my pick up did not tell me that my location had changed. The amount of gas that was told to me that was in the uhaul was incorrect, was told that the uhaul had a half a tank and the gas hand was not on a half, I don't understand why the uhauls can't be filled up by the company instead of when someone pays for the uhaul they have to come out of pocket to fill it up to get to there destination from who ever had the uhaul lastShantel D.
We tried to return the truck after business hours and it was very unclear what we were supposed to do at this site. There was a locked gate where all of the UHaul trucks were kept and the only other option was to leave the truck very close to an extremely busy street. We decided to return it the following morning during business hours, and even though the location was supposed to be open, the associate on the phone was late to work and wasn't there to unlock the gate. She was helpful on the phone though and gave us instructions to leave the truck and drop the keys, and she completed the check-in process for us!Judson H.

I have been charged over $200 in penalties alone for dropping off a truck at a sister facility-just over 4 miles away, even though I did this on the suggestions of a staff at this facility. I was given three options: drop off at facility during office hours (3hrs away), drop off in absentia or drop at nearby facility. Later I get the run around for 2 hrs on the phone, with the resolution that I should have read my contract. All this for choosing your service and using your truck for only 4 hours: total charge $243 for approx 4hrs. I think this is both despicable and wrong and I would not stop talking about it, until I get my money back.Noble A.
