The service at Oak Dollar was amazing. Such a bad system for getting my truck, but the people were amazing. It is one of those moments you realize that the people cashing the big cheques for the company are absolutely useless without the lovely people who do this and make a fraction of what the bigwigs get. The lady was very nice but has no control. The truck was caked with dirt outside and inside dirty. Took me 30 min plus to clean as the truck was being used for an event. The oil light indicated a change soon. There was damage to the drivers side panel and mirror not noted. The insurance documents had expired 3 months prior. The fuel gage dropped after driving away and you charged me extra for the standstill reading. Very poor experience for a first time user and not good for UHaul's reputation.Patrick S.

While the lady was very nice and welcoming, the car was dirty and full of dog hair. She did mention they didn't have time to come clean. There was also clear collision damage on the passenger side which was never inspected or mentioned. The location opened late and I could pick.up the vehichle or begin my work at the scheduled time. Truck was not very clean and the gas tank was not full. I drove 27 total miles and spent $28 to fill the tank after. Very disappointing overall.Roury S.

The location was fine but the truck has mechanical issues which caused me to get into an incident. Moreover the U-Haul representative that I got on the phone Archie or RJ was the worst person to talk to. She was very rude and incomprehensible to the situation throughout our phone call. Instead of helping out she was the one huffing and puffing on the call while I was stuck in a snow storm for 3+ hours. Hopefully this feedback gets reviewed by the right people to address it properly. Including review of her manager at the time Meagan, I think, who was inconvenient to talk to as well.Mohammad T M.

Please make sure that signals are in working order! Have rented vans twice in the past year that did not have a functioning turn signal. Also make sure interior lights are working. Other than that easy pick up and drop off. And the folks that helped with pick up on this and other occasions have been very helpful and friendly.Trish M.

When we went to drop off the keys on Sunday the store said it was closed until Tuesday after walking around the building multiple times being unable to find a drop box I decided to take the keys home and return them when they reopened tuesday. On monday i received a call from them yelling at me for parking somewhere i was not allowed to and that they couldnt find the keys. I explained why i took them and offered to drive over immediately to which he said he doesnt get paid to sit around and wait for me to drive 20 minutes from my home to drop them off. He was unable to find any solutions for me and said it was my fault i couldnt find the drop box which is apparently located behind the building although we looked there as well. He passed the phone to another lady who told me exactly where to move the truck to and that we could slide the keys under the front door when we were done. That was very simple and some instructions prior to drop off would have made a huge difference.Dana B.
The vans are many blocks away from the convenience store where you check in so very inconvenient if it's raining. The method used to measure gas fill up is confusing and not done the normal way rentals are done; which Inevitably results in The customer over filling the tank upon return. The people running the operation are very kind it just is not a user-friendly system. Also when you return the key at night there is the tiniest of a slot in the bottom of the door and our key didn't fit and then when we jammed it in it was her sticking out so we were worried someone would be able to steal the key the whole procedure was unprofessional.KIM W.
I did not choose this location. My booking got changed 20 minutes before pickup and had to rent a car just to travel there to get it on time. The car was also nowhere near 3182 Oak St. The shop at 3182 Oak St was closed too so not really useful at all.Lewis C.
There is a problem with your app on iPhones. When it prompts you to take photos, the camera is completely black and you can't access anything. The camera on my new iPhone 13 works perfectly outside of your app. The photo taking abilities on your website is messed uppatricia S.

There not clear instructions when registering for a truck that you may need to show proof of employment and show a passport ID. Not very pleased with the ordeal we had to go through today to get into the truck we rented and confirmed days ago. Poor system in place for very stressful movers.Jean S.

The store provided me with a tiny piece of paper with instructions for the key drop off after hours. They really should email their customers, as a tiny piece of paper is so likely to get lost. When I went to return the vehicle after hours, I couldn't figure out where to return the keys. The online checkout showed a picture of a drop off box no where to be found, I walked around the building looking for somewhere to put them and there was nothing, so I decided to leave the keys in the gas cap. I called as soon as the store opened at 12 to let them know the situation, and the man on the phone was very rude and told me he was too busy to talk to me and that I put him in a very bad situation. I told him they should text or email the instructions because a small piece of paper like that is so easy to lose. He was not happy with me and hung up the phone. I'm really frustrated and anxious about this whole situationâ€¦ definitely will never rent a uhaul from these people again.Keesha C.
Your app/website does not work. Couldn't upload drivers licence, even your operator at HQ couldn't do it. Your self return didn't work. The geo locator did not work, even after trouble shooting. Your alternative plan then routes you back to the same place with the threat of extra fees if the self return is not fulfilled. Absolutely garbage. I wasted an hour trying to pick up, that then led to a domino effect of calamities all day. Then another hour wasted on return.Richard S.

The store and operators were good. The issue is parking the vehicle after rental. There is limited space and availability as other non UHaul vehicles share the street parking. Also the checkin and checkout process are long. The photo of the vehicle don't reflect current damage. Too much owness on the renter. I will look to other options next time I need a moving vehicle.Matthew S.

About the 400 dollars fee if you delivery in a wrong place, about the others fees that is not mentioning in the website, write down the instructions about how to open the truck and training your employees that receives the key. I will never use uhal anymore.Filipe R.

I was only 10 minutes late and was charged 20 dollars for a â€œlate return.â€ The site also made it seem like the cargo van was bigger than it was.Austin E.
I booked a van rental for pickup at the Oak Dollar Plus location. When I arrived to pick up the van there were some problems, which were poorly handled by the staff. I grew impatient and complained about the service. Then I was told I could not rent the van at that time due to a computer system outage. I agreed to come back the next day to pick up the van as I did not want to wait any longer. Soon after I returned home, I received a call from what I later determined was UHaul's Vancouver scheduling office (the local UHaul office) informing me that my van rental was to be picked up at a faraway location and not at the Oak Dollar Plus. I said I needed the Oak Dollar Plus location and asked why the van I had booked there was suddenly unavailable. I was told curtly that I had to accept the faraway location. I called UHaul's 1-800 number to find out what was going on. They changed the location back to Oak Dollar Plus and sent me a V.I.P. credit. The next morning I got another call from what I believe was the Vancouver scheduling office again rudely informing me that the pickup location had once again been changed. So I called the 1-800 again, and they reset the location to Oak Dollar Plus and assured me that my booking was final. Soon after, I received an email cancelling my reservation entirely and then an email stating the following: Sorry to let you know this message. Owners at the oak street location is not happy with the way [my name] talked to them. So they don't want to serve her from their store anymore. In future if you want to rent uhaul, choose different location. If you book in same oak location it will gets cancelled again. Seriously screwed up behaviour. People are allowed to complain about bad service. And if you think they are being too harsh in their criticism, you are allowed to tell them that. This is not how mature adults behave much less responsible business people.Tracy W.

We rented a vehicle and sent someone else to pick it up. The location we used had online check in due to not opening until noon. We were NOT when calling to make the reservation that the person picking up needed to be the person who made the reservation. It took an hour and a half to get the vehicle we rented after phoning customer service numerous times. We were late for plans with the vehicle. Additionally the vehicle was parked far from the check in location. All in all a frustrating and bad experience.Alison M.

The people at Oak street location were fantastic! So friendly and easy to work with. I read a couple of reviews of this location so I was prepared for some difficulties. But everything went so well! I recommend this location (oak Dollar Plus). I had a great experience from the reservation to the end. Oh as for returning, the process was a bit time consuming which I understand the U Haul policy but would have been helpful if it was part of instruction when we make reservation. We thought we just need to return the van, but there was a lengthy instruction to follow on my phone. If I didn't have internet or the batteries were low, I couldn't complete the return process. Anyway, it went fine for us so thank you U Haul and the people at the Oak Dollar Plus for making our moving less stressful!Kensuke O.
The truck was parked literally a 10 minute walk from the main location. Not a huge issue, but also not ideal when I'm on my own and having to carry a dolly and furniture pads all that way. It also had quite a bit of garbage left in the back. To make matters worse, my invoice also does not match up with what I was charged, I was charged almost $40 more than what the final invoice had stated. Overall I was extremely disappointed as I've rented from Uhaul quite a few times for my moves and it has never been as chaotic as it was at this location.Brooke S.

The instructions provided via the website for mobile pickup were terrible and immaculate. I spent 30 minutes looking for the truck, as it's actual location was unclear and the instructions never told me to go into the store. Once I found the truck, the instructions said to unlock a padlock at the back and find the key in the trunk. There was no padlock and upon messaging support I found out I had to pay to receive further instructions. After paying, I was instructed to walk all the way back to the store to get the keys and then had to return to the truck. Overall I wasted an hour trying to get the truck on a day where I was already on a time crunch trying to move out. In the future I will be using any available alternative to uhaul as the instructions provided were completely wrong and a waste of time.Alex L.

The vehicles are parked on a narrow road with heavy traffic. It is difficult to inspect the vehicle / take pictures parked there with the passing traffic, it is very dangerous. Plus it's a ten mjj oh nite walk from the given address. The process of verification was time consuming and frustrating.Toby G.
