While I was very happy with the pick-up location and staff, I am extremely disappointed overall with u-haul customer service. I moved 45 minutes away and had to return the truck to the same location...and had to pay double what I should've paid as a result. That's completely unfair and unacceptable. I wanted a credit or some sort of compensation for that inconvenience but was instead met with a very nasty representative on the phone who told me nothing could be done and that I had no options, outside of going with another company altogether.ALEXA P.

I was unable to proceed to the next page because I did not use the uhaul for more than a mile. I needed it to move something from one building around the block to mine. The app would not allow me to move further. The front desk clerk said I could leave the keys with her and that she would take care of ending this booking. I arrived at the parking lot at 930a to return. Also, the reservation process needs to communicated ahead of time and I should be allowed to start my pick up prior to arriving to the location. I could not start the pick up process up until 8:00am on the dot and my reservation time was for 8am to 10a. It took me 20 minutes to go through the pick up process. It would've been great to have a 20 minute grace period before my reservation so that I could get the full benefits of my reservation timeYajanira P.

The truck was in horrible condition. Airbag light was on. The maintenance vehicle light was in. The low tire indicator was on. They wouldn't accept the vehicle after 10:30 pm even though my reservation stated that I had until 10:53 to return the vehicle. I had to drive the truck all the way back to Yonkers. Find parking and drive the truck back to the uhaul location. Then I had to pay $37 for an Uber to go home. A huge inconvenience! That place is ghetto!Kisha C.

Improve the state of the vehicle. The truck was very dirty, there were several warnings lighting up including: Servicing and adding air to the tires, Service air bags, and a general maintenance warning. In addition of being unsafe to ride, this creates additional stress on the driver.SAMERJ H.

Not very professional. The person in charge of Uhaul services at this site claimed he could not give me a receipt. He stated he couldn't produce one and I should leave with out it. I explained to him that I needed to see what my final charges were and proof of the charges. He then miraculously produced the receipt. When I questioned the mileage he said he didn't know anything and to email Uhaul. He was not a very good representative of your company.Richard L.

I was over-charged!!! I asked for 1 hand truck and found out after arriving at the move from location that there was also a bigger hand truck AND furniture pads in the back, NONE did I ask for in my initial reservation!!! Also, it took an extra 30 minutes before my reservation was available!!! I'm demanding a refund of the utility cart since that was not in my reservation/contract. I reserved for 1030 and did not leave with the van until 11:15 am...I was late to do what I needed to do. WHen returning the van, I returned it 15 minutes early and ended up being charged for an extra day, that's about 60 plus dollars over what I should be paying. I had an 8am reservation, the uhaul rep did not arrive until 9am, waiting for home to do process and get equipment, I did not leave with van until9:30am. The steering wheel and console was filthy, I had taken paper towels and alcohol to do a minor wipe down considering Covid and all. I dont believe the it had Ever been cleaned, the paper towels were black with dirt. The cup holders section was also filthy. Approx. 5pm the van started to give me issues, the transmission indicator came on, got message transmission was hot to idle engine, etc. At some points I thought I was going to get stranded, I would give gas and it would barely move. I was moved to this location an hour before check in. There is no u haul attendant at this location. The parking garage person had to call u haul to confirm my pick up. The vehicle they gave me was not the vehicle I requested and it was not clean. It had disgusting smelly liquid splatts in the cargo compartment.Aicha D.
I wanted to reserve a van and the website let me choose van reservation for that day. When I arrived there was no van and I had to use a 10' truck. This made my trip more challenging because I had to go out of my way to make sure I had clearance for the truck. Additionally, I thought based on the u-haul website that I could return the truck during business hours, but their hours ended earlier than stated on the u-haul website. The staff doesn't care a bit for the uhaul service at this location and do not seem happy/willing to run it. I went there an hour late so they made me wait and said rudely that you have come late so why do you hurry now. There was about20 min wait to get the keys. Their industrial trolley was not as good as the one in white plains road. The tires were solid rubber and were difficult to roll. All the trolleys looked same. None had inflatable tires. No other option was available. They did not have other uhaul supplies like sofa covers. The center told me that we close by 7 and will not take any return after it. I reached after 10 knowing I could return online using uhaul app at the location during after hours. The staff at this location said you can't return it now and you should come back tomorrow even after request ing so many times. Then I went again to request them in the office. The person called some other person who repeated the same thing. So I said I can not find parking elsewhere and come back tomorrow. Therefore, I asked them that if I can park in their garage and they can return on my behalf to uhaul the next day. They asked me to pay 20$. After that suddenly the person over phone said you will get the return confirmation from uhaul within 30 min. I don't understand how that was possible if they can not return for uhaul after 7pm. How did a 20$ bill made them do it. I am anyways thankful for them doing it so I could sleep peacefully after such a hectic day and a nightmarish experinces with uhaul the same day. I had already vacated my apartment nearby and was about to take my family including an under 3 daughter who were tired and waiting for me to vome after returning the van. It got so late due to their moneymaking act. To uhaul- the orders went to two different locations. However, when I went to pick up the supplies, the store said they can't provide unless I collect the van which was a different location. So I asked her to cancel the supplies and I went to pick up the van from a location where I had such a rough experience.It took more tha 30 min at the store which delayed me going to the next store to pick the van. The app was not letting me take pictures and finish the online return at the location. I kept on calling support but wasn't able to reach them or get a call back. What would be the scenario if you ware stuck in the middle of nowhere. Overall, it was a terrible experience. Only good part, the van was awesome and in a great running condition. I had to cancel my reservation after starting it and I called to speak to a representative about receiving a refund, was told I was going to receive it because I did not use the van and never got it. The men here were loud, lazy, rude, and extremely unprofessional. They didn't t put in effort into helping us, didn't wear masks, and only spoke Spanish. They didn't have the dolly we rented and charged us anyway. We had a specific timeframe for our move and they were a half hour late and took their time to get the truck. The guy was very very rude. I got there and was waiting for him to walk back from getting someone's car. He was on the phone the whole time having a conversation . When he got there there was someone ahead of me, then it was my turn to go in and he had a Spanish lady skip me. He was speaking in Spanish and I said I was next he said in a harsh voice parking !!!. She laugh and he left and took her money and went to get her car. He never spoke to me other than to say ID and Credit card. Someone came in for parking he took their money and gave them their keys. He printed out my form gave it to me no signature required. Normally you sign the form. He did Not ask for a signature gave me the keys and point the truck was outside. I said that it and he waved me in in annoyance. All he said was 7pm bring it back. I brought it back at 6:50pm and I gave him the keys and asked is there any paper work, he jumped in the truck jumped and waved me on in annoyance and said no. I got a linked that said click when returned, I did but felt unease about this UHAUL place and the worker. I called general UHAUL and they asked me if I returned the truck I said yes about half an hour ago, she said it not in the system.I said I clicked on linked and I took a picture that said truck returned. He charge me for insurance without asking if I wanted it. It was optional. This guy Never spoke to me other than saying ID and credit card. I have been to UHAUL places and this was never the procedure, they walk with you and check the vehicle together then pass you the keys and the same thing when you come back. I was on the phone withIHAUL for an hour until they confirmed that the truck was returned but I could not get back my money until I filed a claim and it is not guaranteed I will get it back. THIS PLACE IS UNPROFESSIONAL AND THE WORKER IS RUDE AS HELL AND STOOD ON HIS CELL PHONE ALL THE TIME. I reserved truck for 8:00 but was told when i got there that the Uhaul guy doesnt come in until 9 on Sundays. Also i ordered a furniture dolly, he confirmed that when we got the truck. When we got to the house, no dolly. I tried calling a couple of times, no answer. When i returned the truck and told him that the dolly was missing i was rushed out and was told they would adjust it. Partner with locations that accomodate your 24/7 truckshare option, which is a wonderful, highly conducive option to the needs of the consumsr today. Ensure that the support staff at said locations understand how the truckshare option works and very importantly, have the periphal equipment on site to fulfill the requests made in the online reservation by the consumer.
