Do NOT continually make people drive between 20-40 miles each WAY to PICK UP THE TRUCK! Yesterday I had a one hour, 40 mile round trip to pick up the truck and last year a 80 mile round trip to another state to pick up a truck, both times when there were plenty of trucks at the local facility where I personally went to rent the vehicle. The local manager is wonderful (so none of the comments are directed at her) but this "we'll let you know WHERE your truck is" the day before is insane. I will be using these experiences to teach my university classes on how NOT to run a business.
Christopher B.Since the pick-up location cancelled my reservation, even though I picked up the truck, this location had no record of me needing to turn the truck in. The lady who worked there was very helpful and nice, though, and she called Uhaul to try to figure something out.

JOHANNA S.I made this reservation more than one month before a move across the country. You claim you give 24hrs notice for “preferred pickup location†changes- however 6pm- ie- end of business on a Friday is unacceptable to change someone's preferred location from the coast of Massachusetts to basically Vermont for a Saturday pick up date. Had I not started making an issue about this before you called me to tell me where to pickup, this would have ruined my ability to move. You cannot claim to “make moving easier†if you do nothing in terms of logistics to make sure the equipment is where (or even remotely close to) your customers request it. The woman at this pickup location was kind, she knew how far I had to drive on a Friday before moving / driving across the country. She informed me that the car trailers that I requested to move with “simply aren't up here†& I was lucky to “find the one I didâ€.

doreen B.Robust Valley is great, UHaul not so much. UH gave me a runaround, trying to make the rental experience much more time consuming and expensive. RV went beyond the call of duty and resolved issues in my favor.
Bob C.Originally uhaul directed me to elite vinyl for a truck and the lock box wouldn't open. Robust is next door and the owner of this business went out of her way to try to help us open a box for business that wasn't hers. She contacted the district manager and tried other calls to assist. Meanwhile the owners of Elite were not able to be reached…, We ended up renting a trailer from Robust for the week so the move wasn't a complete disaster. Uhaul needs more representation like Robust and should discontinue working with Elite Vinyl.

Robert S.Although I was very pleased with the pick-up place, I was furious with the customer service/scheduling department. We ordered a 26' truck from the Keene, NH location and received a text the day before that we needed to pick up the truck in Manchester NH over a hour away in the ice and snow. The representative was unapologetic and said the only other option was to pick up truck in Hinsdale, NH and it would only be a 20' truck.

Don't know who is responsible for notifying the new location to ensure that all the optional equipment is available but it needs to be clear to the customer that ALL the reserved items are at the new location.
