Rattan, a customer service rep with whom I had a conversation regarding my initial order actually cancelled my order after I asked to speak with her boss. She said her boss was on vacation and would get back to me I n a few days. I then asked for her boss's boss and got push back on that too. When I said I would have to call the President of Uhaul she said I was â€œthreateningâ€ her and hung up. It was then that she cancelled my order. A person at the head office uncancelled the cancellation, thankfully. This level of customer service is really awful. The underlying problem is that there is not enough inventory and no transfer service to avoid customers having to drive 1.5 hours to pick up a trailer when the initial location was 30 minutes awayNadine L.

Safety chains on our trailer were way, way too long. The previous customer left them dragging on the road and as a result were very worn out. I mentioned it to the kind lady who I rented from but she didn't really say much and just let me leave. Quite dangerous to have the chains in that condition and they should be changed before getting used again. The door also needed lubrication. Other than that, great experience and very handy trailer.Bradley R.

The only issue was where to find the office. Information was not forthcoming, I had to ask eg did I need to put gas in the truck upon return and where to put the keys if returned after office hours. The truck key was temperamental, it had to be in the ignition just so.MARTIN H.

This is meant for the company and not the person who's work is to hear complaints . They work hard for your lack of professional. I made a reservation weeks before just to not be contacted the day before as was said would happen. Showed up at a parking lot with no truck. Called and waited 40 min. on phone just to be disconnected a second time. Was told that I had to drive nearly an hour to get a truck. I was told that I could get a closer truck the next day in gravenhurst which turned out to be a 30 min drive also. My movers had to be cancelled for both days as i was moving 6 hours away which cost me money then had to hire new people that cost me more money. Plus all the gas extra to pick up the truck and hire someone to drive me to get it. Then to be charged $13 extra when I brought it back. My question to the company is to tell me why I should ever rent from them again. I believe that I should be compensated for my extra gas + . Thanks. DanDAN I.

This was a horrible experience. To start, we had to wait twenty minutes for the van to be returned & "cleaned" before we could have it. We gave them the benefit of the doubt because when a vehicle is returned is beyond their control. The agent "cleaned" the van but did not do any inspection while we were there. When he was finished "cleaning" the van, there was no paperwork provided confirming where the gas gauge was, or the mileage, or any imperfections existing on the van. We opened the van door to get in and immediately noticed that it was disgusting. The floors were covered in dirt and dust. Upon getting in the vehicle, the dashboard was also covered in dirt and dust. It didn't look like it had been wiped down in a very long time. I believe the only part of the vehicle that was wiped down is the steering wheel and door handle. It smelled terrible to the point that we had to drive with the windows down despite it being a very hot day that I would have much preferred to have the air conditioning on. I made note that the mileage was at 32609 km at the start of my trip. When I returned the van to the lot, I noted that the mileage was at 32647 - a total of 38 kms. The gas gauge had not moved (I didn't go very far). When I took the keys in, I asked if they were going to come out with me to look at the van, mileage, gas, etc. She said that no, they would do that later. I pointed out that I had estimated my trip at 50 km when I booked it and had paid for that amount. The girl then at the desk assured me that they would adjust the kilometers accordingly. I asked for a printed receipt and was told that they did not provide a paper receipt, it would be emailed to me. I did receive the emailed receipt and was shocked to see that not only did they charge me for 61 km's (not the 38 that I travelled), they also charged me a fuel charge! I would not recommend this location to my worse enemy.Melissa H.

Service equipment every so often. Gear shifter on the steering column had no pin in to hold in place. I was shifting through the north Ontario Canadian Sheild high rolling hills, hwy 11 thru #17. Shifter came out of the column, Wow! Tow trailer jack was broken. I'm a retired, an exmilitary, mechanic. I bypass a gear because of a broken pin in the gear housing unit. All was good by my experience. The 26ft long uhaul truck needed over 2 litres of 5w30 motor oil plus 2 litres of antifreeze with 2 litres of water. The engine light came on the first days trip on the hwy, with speed. Plus, park brake sensor light would no turn off till hours later on the road while driving. Kinda scary trip across country with a; maybe, problematic truck. Specially, a driver that may of had no knowledge of trouble-shooting issues with mechanical censors. Second last day of that trip, the passenger front signal light had blown away through the heavy prairie winds. The other signal light mount was loose to move. Rusted mounted parts, wires. On a drive from Midland on to Calgary Ab. with driver door arm rest all broken in pieces. Pinched my arm all the way when I would forget about it. Valve cover on the engine are leaking badly. Needed servicing before trip. But, I'd have to say that this truck worked very hard with my adjusting my speed of engine getting really hot with engine on most of the time, with BP sensor light on too. 35c temperature with sun on me and very hot air coming from the part of the cab. I like driving but I took 2 plus more days because of the heat fatigued factor. Freaking hot long trip, man. All is good. I still would call for your services if/when needed again. The vans tire pressure was low, change oil light was on. It smelled like urine. Hasn't been cleaned in months. I usually rent this van once a week. Leaving it clean and filled up for the next person. But no care has been made on this vehicle in a very long time.Adam P.

This rating is for Uhaul, NOT this dealer who was excellent! The full experience with Uhaul was a total failure. They did not provide the truck we booked, advised us 48hrs before our move. The hired help through Uhaul never showed up, advised us 10min before they were due. If you can use any other moving truck company, you should. While they confirm your booking, they do not guarantee that you will get what you book and you could be left at the last minute with less or nothing. The hired help we booked and paid for left us stranded. Poor experience and for the best part poor customer service on the part of Uhaul, not the individual dealers.Eric B.

Overall this was a great experience, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only issue that we had was with attaching the trailer to my truck. We had to physically lift the tongue of the trailer, which was very heavy. I might suggest that some kind of lift jack be provided.kim P.

I've rented a large 6'x12' dual axle trailer from many different uhaul locations. This location was the only one that didn't hook up the trailer for me. This trailer is very heavy.Eric L.
