The app is awful. There are functions that it required, but would not work. Specifically the photo portion. Users should not be forced to download an app for a one time use.

The owner comes off as quite rude to me. The check engine light was on. It was listed as full but was not quite full and when I mentioned the check engine light was on and that was not good all he could say is that is normal! HUH??? He should have offered some courteous credit and he says I'm not charging you for the 1/100th that the tank is no full, I told him I took a pic of where it was at before. Just not friendly, professional, or good customer service.

I would only recommend he mobile appt version if you need to rent after hours, otherwise it’s to frustrating of a process. I rather deal with a human.

I would give this location an "EXCELLENT" but the older gentleman who works there seemed a little distrusting towards African American people. The lady was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Kudos to her for making the experience as painless as possible.

First, the rental was not available when I arrived, I was told that I needed to wait until 8am instead of getting it at 7am as arranged on the reservation. Second, there was a panel on the floor that should have been bolted down with about 12 bolts, but it only had three bolts and it felt like it was about to break every time we accidentaly stepped on it.

There were some technical issues, the screen froze when I was trying to sign then hit enter. The guy working there tried to call someone and no one was available. I’d definitely recommend better technical support.

My card was first charged at this location and I was told that I had to do a cash deposit . I explained to the rep that my card was charged and he told me it was my responsibility to contact U-Haul. After contacting U-Haul it’s been a headache and hell because none of the representatives can effectively process the refund. I never requested a check to be mailed to the address on file since I moved from there & spoken to multiple reps seems that no one can give me a resolution to the matter . I simply requested my money to process my card the same way it was taken ! I would not recommend renting from U-Haul or this location and will be contacting the BBB.

Truck inside dirty. Doors hard to shut and passenger door flung open while driving. Hard to slam shut. Never had a truck like this before. Engine makes a funny noise when stopping and starting. Takes a while to turn over. Just thankful we made it back safely. Feel I was over charged for the quality. Would never rent from here again

Location was probably fine but the truck was NOT. Here are the notes I already sent to U-Haul: Also, FYI, that truck got a whopping 7 MPG (and not with a full load)! That was quite a shock when I refilled it before returning. Note: I think the transmission is going as it shifts awkwardly and the engine revs up before it does eventually shift (automatically). Also note: I had to have service called for the back door on the truck. The spring was VERY stiff and powerful and the door slipped out of my hands, retracted up into the track with such force that it was jammed. A neighbor (much taller and stronger than me) was able to release the latch that was snagged and causing the problem but I called your service anyway to see if they could make sure it did not happen again. It talk awhile for someone to be dispatched and arrive – because your operator told me she was having a problem finding someone available and experienced with these doors. He may have been one but not the other. He understood the concept and thought that there would be no further problems but was unable to get into the works to fix any problems there might be. Lastly, I made a reservation for a truck to be picked up at Rose Mart 208 in Wake Forest. The confirmation email (and the only one I receive BTW) even said You are scheduled to pickup your equipment at Rose Mart 208 on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at 11:32 AM for 1 days . Turns out that you all changed the pick up location and neglected to tell me. The attachment to that email did say that it was to be picked up at Star Mart but why would I have even looked if the body of the email itself did not tell me what I was expecting to see already? Apparently I was supposed to receive some follow up email tell me that you made the change – which I never did. And when I requested an extra day, your confirmation email said, again You are scheduled to pickup your equipment at Rose Mart 208 on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at 11:32 AM for 1 days . So even after I alerted U-Haul to this discrepancy when I made the extension request, the same error was carried forward. As such I will probably never rent with U-Haul again. That mileage thing really grates me. It may mean that the truck was woefully out of condition really inefficient gas mileage wise or that, in this case, FULL did not mean FULL. As we know, fuel gauges can read FULL and still be a few gallons short. If that was the case here, then when I returned the truck REALLY full, that would account for my having to put in a few gallons more than I really used. I think that happened with a previous rental as well where a promised 15-18 MPG turned into 11 -- and the rep had said I was luck because this was a newer truck and got great mileage. When pressed as to why it only then got 11 MPG, I was told "that IS great mileage". But, as I said, this is my last rental with U-Haul. I don't utilize them that often but it would appear that I used them at least

I was charged $25 plus tax for a cleaning fee when I returned the truck already clean. This is a joke, obvisouly the owner is trying to make money through a lie. I have moved dozens of times in my 45 years so little did he know I took pictures and a video before returning. He would be wise to refund the arbitrary fee he falsely imposed on my credit card.

The seal on the driver's door was coming loose and made for VERY loud whistling while driving above 40mph. Since I was driving on highways for over 4 hours, it became incredibly annoying and frustrating. I had to yell to speak to the person sitting next to me. What would've been a good experience was turned into a headache ridden ride up the east coast.

If you return on weekend, you may have to wait next day for receipt because it’s a neighborhood U-haul location. At larger locations, return inspections are completed at time of return. As long as there are no issues, you will be fine.

You should note on the website that no furniture pads are available at this location. Our van was new and worked perfectly. Pick up and drop off was easy.

My mattress was ruined inside the truck. It rained overnight and the truck leaked where my mattress was inside. I’ve not heard back from anyone about it yet. I was asked if I got the insurance when renting, but that isn’t the issue. The issue is that the truck has obviously not been maintained properly

When we got home we found there was some Valero signs/trash in the back. We did not remove as we did not know if it was needed so we returned the truck as we found it, I told the young man I returned the truck to that we left it as we found it but when I received my bill a cleaning fee was added. I responded by email and have not heard back yet - I do not think I should pay the cleaning fee when either the store or previous renter left it that way. In addition, the check engine light was on which was a little worrisome but we went less than 20 mile total so made due. Everyone was friendly, pick-up store is fine, just very unhappy about the cleaning fee being added.

My truck was filled with only a quarter tank of gas. Also, I had to ask rep to move a truck that was partially blocking my ability to back up since my truck was near a ledge and I was not comfortable squeezing it through the opening.

I arrived at the drop off location I chose, only to be told they were full and to go do a different location nearby. When I arrived at the new location I received substantial push back to call a 1-800 number to see where I should drop off. The store eventually agreed to receive the truck, but gave me a hard time about folding blankets. After I left, I saw an email from Uhaul that indicated a drop off location 35 minutes away from my address. There is no way I would have ever agreed to that drop off location.

I had an up-and-down experience. The customer service was GREAT. The manager and his wife (?) were very helpful with my pick-up and return, especially considering that I had to make a change at the last minute. On the other hand, the 24/7 pickup itself was a hassle. The keys are locked in the back of the truck. Unfortunately, the App wasn't working, and the manager didn't have a back-up combination, so we couldn't access the key. They had to call the help desk, get shifted around, etc -- it took me MUCH longer to pick up the truck than it should have. The staff indicated that they have this trouble frequently, so this is something that Uhaul should work on. All in all, it was good, other than above.

The place I picked up the truck was fine the problem was that I didn’t get the truck I reserved. I was given AND charged for a larger truck than reserved or needed and this was CHARGED twice as much. I put a call into U-haul (sat on hold for 25 mins before ever talking to anyone). Was told someone would call me with 2-3 days.

We were charged for the truck being dirty, when we picked it up it was dirty. We should have reported it before leaving the pick up location. Reporting this location to the BBB

Overall a good rental experience. Two areas of improvement: first, the trucks doors were very squeaky and difficult to open, somebody should’ve had access to some silicone spray lto ube the hinges. Second, My truck was given to me with a quarter tank of fuel. I’ve used other rental companies for trucks and they always give you a vehicle with a full tank, and expected return with a full tank. It should have a full tank of gas when given to a customer.

I tried to drop off on Wednesday afternoon and the first location said the system was down and he couldn't take it and go somewhere else. I went to the next closest location at 818 Main st Wake Forest and he said he couldn't take it because he had too many trucks and to drive 30 minutes away to a main Uhaul location. When I began calling Haul customer service he changed his mind and agreed to take it and told me he would check in that night and they would send a receipt via email. I never got a receipt and had to confirm with Haul customer service to confirm it was actually checked in. Overall a very poor experience with 2 gas stations that had little interest in serving the customer
