JAE LThe app. We were running late and it completely removes the option to check-in online because of that. So when running late, now we have to sit on the phone until they can reopen the "check-in" window, adding to our lateness. Also, the location finder doesn't work on Androids. You need to complete the check-in on a browser. Wouldnt have known that if it wasn't for being on the phone due to the check-in issue. Otherwise, was quick. But I just feel like you should be able to check-in 10mins early, 30 mins late, an hour late. Any time before you are really due to return.

The person who signed the truck out to us rushed thru the explanation as if it was self explanatory, I did not find it intuitive or user friendly.

Shayna SI rent from UHaul 3 or 4 times a month. I use the trucks to pick up and haul donated pallets of food to homebound elders. This is the 2nd issue I've had at this location in 3 recent rentals. The gas gage stopped working. Before I refueled the truck, the tank was at a quarter. I put $11.77 and turned the truck on. Gas gage didn't move. I put $11.88 worth of gas in. The gas gage didn't move. I went to another pump and put $29 in. Gas gage Still stayed at 1/4. I put a total of $52 worth of gas in the truck, trying to refill it to just below half a tank. The gas gage stayed at 1/4. The sensor for the parking brake release would not deactivate and the voice kept barking at me to release it, even the parking brake was physically disengaged. The driver side door had been hit right where the door is hinged to the truck body, which I documented with photographs at checkout. Because the door has been hit air comes through the place where the door seal closes against the truck. When I returned the vehicle, alI brought all these issues to the attention of the manager Mr. Jeremy. At first, he was unwilling to help, saying he had something else he was supposed to he doing. I let him know I'd been expecting a call from him for more than 3 weeks on the previous rental where I was overcharged for mileage - Uhaul customer service told me he would call; his employee Matthew said he would call when I said I hadn't heard from Jeremy while picking up my next rental. Once I started pulling out receipts, Mr. Jeremy relaxed some, but is clearly overwhelmed. He said he needed to "investigate" my claim and get back to me about the gas gage in a few days, but that Uhaul doesn't normally reimburse customers for over-filling. I told him I know. That's the rental car racket - sending vehicles out partially filled and then overcharging customers If they bring it back less than filled or allowing customers to offset company expenses by overfilling. I asked Mr. Jeremy to switch the card payment to another card. He only billed the remaining balance to the new card. When I came back to the counter to correct the issue, he said I'd need to call customer service. Mr. Jeremy said he'd "inspect" the odometer issue I reported for the 3/8/24 rental. After an hour, I left the store without a single problem resolved. I was supposed to be resting. I worked a 20-hr day the day before moving food so our people can eat. Every moment I spend going back and forth on these issues is time I don't spend feeding folks. I don't have confidence that Mr. Jeremy will resolve these issues. Please escalate this matter to a Regional Manager and issue a full refund for the 3/8 rental out of consideration for my time, loyal patronage (despite significant issues with rentals in multiple locations over the last 2 months), and the tremendous service we at my organization Feed Durham offer to the community. Lastly, we're a tax-exempt organization through our fiscal sponsor Southern Vision Alliance and Uhaul has been charging us tax.

A few were very grouchy and unpleasant however, the good and friendly ones made the others not important. The free month rent for the storage locker with my truck rental was great. I think the storage lockers are just a little high priced but that is not the staffs fult overall the experience was great and would for sure go back and refer people as well

Richard OThe reservation was messed up, the dolly that I paid for was not available, they gave a replacement and never placed it on the truck. I had to get my own vehicle and go back to avoid placing extra miles on the U-Haul. The experience was extremely overwhelming and not easy.
Megan HCorrectly document the fuel levels prior to renting it out to the next customer. This location gave me the truck at 3/4 not 7/8 as documented on the paperwork. I drove 10.1 miles and put gas in the truck before returning it. They are attempting to charge me almost $20 for gas. I have sent a formal complaint to the GM.

Kimari JI reserved a pick up truck for Sunday 3/10 to be picked up at 9:00AM. I booked through the corporate website. The U-Haul store did not have a pick up available. The staff offered a larger box truck as a substitute and located a pick up truck at a near by facility. The delay pushed my return after hours and the bill was higher than the contract quoted. Not good overall customer service.

Whitney W | Overall ExperienceThis is not a criticism of this location. I reserved a trailer from another location (on 15-501 HWY). When I arrived I was told that the trailer was not there and had been scheduled to be returned 2 days prior. They found me another trailer 7 miles away, but it was 4:30 at the other store (this one on New Raleigh Hwy) closed at 5. We were lucky. But the fact that I had to race across town to pick up another trailer could have been avoided with a simple communication telling me that the trailer I had reserved was not actually available.
George GI returned the truck about 7:05 pm on Saturday 3/2/24 which was a day early as it wasn't due back until Sunday around 12:15 pm. I wasn't sure of the hours but there were people around so I pulled into the area to return equipment. The man that was there just walked away. A few minutes later he came out and told me they were closed so I said I would do the mobile return. I entered the mileage and the gas at 5/8 a tank which is what I picked it up AND dropped it off at. When I attempted to take photos of the truck to complete the drop off the app would not allow me to take photos. I pulled the truck into a spot that was marked for 15'-20' trucks and as I got out the same man came back and asked me if I was all checked out. I told him that I could not take any photos because the app wasn't allowing it and he said he would take care of it for me. I thanked him and left. Yesterday I received a email receipt indicating that UHaul is now charging me $40 for an extra day of rental saying I didn't return the truck until after 5 pm on Sunday 3/3/24 which is not true. Also, you are charging me for 2 gallons of gas and I returned the truck with the exact amount of gas that was in it when I picked it up. I will never use this UHaul location again even though it is close to my house. If the man was going to wait until I finished my mobile drop off then why didn't he just return the truck for me when I pulled up? I feel as if he intentionally waited to charge me for the extra day and gas and that is just poor business. I rent UHaul frequently but I may have to look into some alternative options after this experience.

Luke GThe truck was very old and had over 134,000 miles on it. But, by far, the worst thing was the rear view mirrors. They are impossible to adjust to get them where they need to be. They made my time driving the truck really dangerous and stressful! (People could not have been nicer.)

Not sure exactly when that changed, but it became a problem over time. We had an incident where an employee checked us out of 2 units, which we did not discover until our payment didn't draft and the remaining unit was "overlocked"... we could have easily lost our belongings through no fault of our own. Over the last 6 months or so, the sight seemed to have an excessive number of trucks particularly occupying the loading dock area, which made access to the building complicated when we went to the site to add or remove totes from our units. It was obvious the trucks were not rented to others, but inventory that was just parked there. Definitely room for improvement at this site.

I needed a uhaul truck for ONE DAY, ONE WAY but was forced to pay for THREE days, ONE Way (I assume). From Atlanta, Ga to Raleigh, NC is only 402 miles. I was forced to pay for 486 miles. The truck was returned within 28-30 hours but I was forced to pay for 72 hours of use.When we rented the truck we were told that we would not be charged until the truck is returned but the money was put on hold immediately. Same concept..... In talking to an associate at one of the locations we were told that an adjustment would be made once the truck was returned to reflect unused time and miles. Afterward we were told that we were misinformed and that we would not be reimbursed as it is company policy to charge for 72 hours by default. It's a ripoff! This company is a ripoff and should be ashamed of yourself! WE ALL suffered from COVID and the shift in the economy. Why are we being punished for your loss of profit?! WHY?! I have asked for a refund for the unused days and miles with no success. One of the employees even scoffed at us in ridicule. Uhaul has no respect for us as the consumer. Our dollar means everything to them while our loyalty and their integrity means absolutely nothing. I detest your existence and hope you get what you deserve. What a bunch of scammers!! I will do all I can to NEVER have to utilize your services again.

Also, someone was NOT using the ramps strictly for loading or unloading and was parked there without loading/unloading like they were there to tend to their storage or help someone else which mada an elderly, handicapped person "deal with his/her rudeness". Signs should be added above the loading/unloading that they are for loading/unloading only. 2. Sunday closing of the sliding door at 5:00 PM was a hassle. I expected it to be the same as other days.

And this u Haul facility and their truck conditions were the best I have ever seen and experience. The staff work very hard to keep the facility including the bathroom spotless. I do understand you might have policies that don’t allow this, but I would like to treated like the good customer I am. Just a little more friendly and accommodating. Otherwise your in-facility staff has always been very helpful especially when I had to rent the space in April of 2020 remotely.

Please consider how time efficient and safer it would be if the outdoor access for Ubox access on the premises had a canopy and had direct light shining at the boxes after office hours. By safer I mean being able to ensure you can be seen if you trip on a bus or trip due to the pavement having grooves shaped in it for the path of traffic. It is great getting fresh air and accessing the UmUboxes on your premises, which is set up for this product to be placed and moved upon. Another idea is a small portable chain fence placed around the Uboxes in case a dog or squirrel wonders over or a box rolls out while accessing the unit. Thank you for the services and staff!

I am a business owner and I lost my keys. I contacted the staff and inquired about getting the locked removed immediately and purchasing new lock. According to the staff member I was told that the manager said I had to wait 5 days before uhaul would remove the lock. After stating over and over my immediate need for the lock to be removed, the ultimatum was given to me to call a locksmith or wait 5 days for uhaul to remove the lock. Needing immediate access, I was forced to call a locksmith smith at the cost of 254 dollars, so I canceled my contract with you uhaul and will never deal with uhaul anymore or anywhere. I am a business owner and have a 24 hour need for access for my storage.

Not only did she not prorate and refund me she never even stopped my contract when I moved out so I got charged again the fallowing month. I had to call my bank to dispute the charges. To top all of that I reserved moving blankets with my truck a few days before picking the truck up. It wasn't untill after I got the truck and walked to the truck to find they didn't put any in it. They told me they didn't have any which meant I had to scramble to find something to protect my stuff for the move. I would NEVER recommend this storage facility or even to pick up a truck from them.
