Truck had change oil light on when I picked it up. I also reserved an alliance dolly but when I picked up vehicle they did not have one. Also vehicle leaked fluid on brand new concrete drive way of our new home that I will now have to get someone to clean. you can never fully remove this from drive so it will be a forever reminder of the truck I rented.David W.

Vehicle can smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Your website was down and I was unable to check in mobile. I had to wait 20 minutes in line. Only one employee was helping even though another sat next to her the entire time.JACOB C.

I rented a trailer to pick up a side by side ATV. I asked for certain dimensions and confirmed with the associate the size I needed based in the vehicle. A 6x12 trailer was recommended. 6x12 is an appropriate dimension, but the trailer is not 6x12 at the opening. The frame comes in a significant amount. I drove 2.5 hours and the side by side atv does not fit. Sadly, this isn't the most disappointed I was with Uhaul today though I spoke with a customer service rep from the helpline. First off, she must have missed her mute button because I was greeted with, and I quote â€œYou're not supposed to be here!â€ No worries, figured it was a mistake. It only went south from there. I explained my situation and she said it sounds like I wanted to debate who's fault it was for not measuring the trailer before I rented it. Feel free to find the recording. I called between 3:45pm and 4pm. I said nothing of the sort nor did I show any anger towards this associate. I simply was looking for a solution. She said I had no choice but to drive the trailer back to its original location, that I should have measured the opening somehow, and that I was wasting time. I asked for her name and a supervisor which was followed by an immediate send off to more on hold music. Of course, it wasn't a supervisor, but another operator. The next one was professional and tried to help, but I was only put on hold again for another 15+ minutes before having to hang up. I have to return for another 5+ hour trip and arrange a trailer again. I've wasted 5 hours of drive time, over a full tank of gas, and the entire amount owed for a trailer that was misrepresented in size for my defined need. Hoping you can find a way to make this better because the day and entire experience with Uhaul was beyond disappointing. -Jason DayJASON D.

They said they checked the tail lights before leaving but they were not working! It was after hours and I had to drive four hours with my flashing lights (they worked). I tried calling national help line but was transferred several times and put on a long hold and gave up.PAUL S.

I have Never had any problem with Uhaul!alwYs the most affordable. I did however have a problem with my movers help that I hired from your site. Several of my things were damaged or completely broken and Unsalvageable. I don't know if the insurance I purchased would cover that. It's okSTEVEN S.

The truck we rented was not available, and it took another ~30 minutes to arrange for a truck of different class to be provided. Upon return we were charged a higher rate for the truck (which was provided with an expressed no additional cost). I phoned, and was told it would be sorted the following business day, no further action needed from me. It has now been a solid 2 weeks with no resolve. Considering the original reservation was a guaranteed reservation, we should have been presented with the $50 promised on the uhaul site at the time of the reservation. That did not happen (nor did we push for it because we were trying to be understanding). Instead, we were treated to a delay of 30+ minutes, a different truck, incurred an additional cost of ~$20 due to the mileage rate difference, and after taking the additional time to phone about the error were provided with a resolution timescale of 1 business day which was not honored, leaving me to now either eat the $20 because I value my personal time OR waste more personal time to stand up for the principal of the $20 (which should actually be $70 when you factor in uhaul's promise about guaranteed reservations). The whole reason I used the service to begin with, was based on an overwhelmingly positive experience at another uhaul location in the area about 3 weeks prior. The headache and significantly higher cost associated with my rental from this location will prevent me from using it again.Colt H.

The seats were clean but the dash and area for drinks and other items was dirty. The gas level was not accurate and they did not know the size of the gas tank so we would know how much gas to put in on return.REBECCA E.

The only thing that was a little frustrating is to self check in. My husband was with me and he got a text message that a number would be calling him to verify. The number texted to him said "we're calling from 1-830" and the number that called him were two different numbers (1-800). He didn't answer so that created a longer delay trying to enter someone else. I wish I would have been able to enter the same person twice so he need to answer the second time.Krystal G.

The location itself was clean and the gentleman I spoke to was nice. However, I reserved a van a week in advance. Not even an hour before my scheduled pick up U-Haul said it would not be available but I could go to a location 12 or 5 miles away for a comparable pick up. (In reality to actually drive there instead of a their straight line measurements it was 20 and 9 miles) I went to the closer of the two and they were closed so I couldn't even pick up a rental. Now after being rerouted and delayed over 45 minutes I could rent their left over pick up truck with less than half of the moving capacity of what I reserved. Making what should have been a 4ish hour move into a 7 and a half hour move. And to add a cherry on top the truck reeked of smoke like someone had just smoked a pack of cigarettes in there before I opened it up.KATHRYN V.

Equipment should be checked prior to renting to customers to ensure safety. The first van issued to me was not safe to drive for a 1,000 mile rental. I also lost a day of travel time because I had to switch vans. The second van was also not safe but I discovered that after reaching my destination. To add insult to injury I was still charged for both days including the mileage that was accumulated when I had to return the first van.ROBERT A.

I reserved initially online, and didn't realize that the space I got was so small, especially the door. The employee who helped me was able to switch my space to what I needed, and was extremely helpful. However, he did tell me that the first month was supposed to be free, and I got charged - is there a way to rectify this?
