I went 12 miles in the truck. I put in $7.50 of gas, just about 2 gallons. I see on my receipt I was charged for another 2 gallons of gas. How does it take 4 gallons of gas to go 12 miles in a 10 foot truck?? Other than that, the service was excellent. The gas scam is unreal, though. Cost you a star.Rhonda T.

My wife and I used our storage facility for over 18 years. It was always clean and dry. If we were not moving cross country we would still be using it. I can honestly say that we will be looking for a U-Haul storage facility when we get to our new location. Also, the people working at the facility are top notch. It took 3.5 hours for them to install a hitch. I kept asking and asking, and nobody was helpful. When we got to our destination, we realized that the tech never put the screws back on the taillights. Uhaul did not have the vehicle ready for me at the promised time. Even though I called to verify my reservation 2 hours before. Vehicle was not cleaned or inspected for issues upon my rental. They only cared about the mileage and fuel level. Certainly not a service based business. Just $$ based...Brian E.
Stop wasting people time! When you go to pick up a trailer rental the customer should be able to pay for the rental at the time of the initial visit, not walk all over the parking lot on 2 separate occasions them into the store again to get your rental.Christopher M.

Notify the customer that the unit will not be available for pick up at the time registered. Uhaul called and confirmed a 7 AM pick up via smartphone. It was not until on-site day of that I was told I can not pick up until site opened because they did not have the truck ready. A Simple call, email, or text message would have resolved this issue.Ryan R.

Provide maps online showing how to get to the site from Rte. 95, both north and south, and how to get out of there, to get on Rte. 95, both north and south. The address for the physical site is listed on map programs is on Newell St. but the entrance is on Main St. or Lonsdale Ave, or something like that. The streets in Pawtucket are a mess, and when you're driving in unfamiliar areas, especially with a truck you're not used to, it can be daunting. -- Also, I had to drive 37 miles to pick up a tow dolly, so I could pick up my car at the truck pick-up site and get my car back home before I could start packing. I can understand the difficulties of getting both pieces of equipment available at the same time at the same site, but it should be automatic to include the extra mileage in the contract. Fortunately, I called your scheduling department and they took care of this for me. -- The people at the truck pickup site were very helpful, but prior to my getting there, it took me a while to find out if I could leave my car at their site while I took the truck to get the tow dolly, and I had to re-schedule for that reason. It wasn't a problem for me at this time, but I can imagine that it would have been a problem for someone on a tight schedule.ROBERT L.

So my initial reservation was for a 20' truck near my house. It was moved to a site in Providence, Rhode Island a few days prior... inconvenient.. but okay. So I took an Uber to the Uhaul facility on Oxford St in Providence only to find that the truck had been broken into and the catalytic converter was stolen overnight. The 2 staff at this destination did NOT try to contact me to let me know there was a problem. I walked in, gave my name and destination, and they both sat their with bored looks on their faces and said "oh.. yeah.. about that.. there was a problem"... and then went back to looking at their computers. I literally stood there for 45 seconds waiting for a response... I had to prompt them to find out what was wrong. They then eventually were able to find me another truck about 8 minutes away in Pawtucket, but I had to literally ask them for the address and whether I should call first to confirm that the 2nd Truck was operable. Literally one of the employees stated "yeah... lots of people have trouble with uHaul" when I mentioned that this was my 3rd negative experience with uHaul. So... there was no effort made to let me know to not waste my time PAYING to be driven to the pick up site. I don't understand why I am allowed to reserve a truck online at a specific site ONLY to be told there will be no truck there. And the customer service experience at the Oxford St location was ridiculous to the point that I thought I was in "caught on camera skit"... who tells someone there is a problem with their reservation then just stops talking for over 30 seconds? That said, sadly, the survey is asking about the Pawtucket location... hence the not POOR rating. The staff in Pawtucket were slighlty more competent, but not any friendlier. I also had to come BACK into the office to get the dolly and moving pads that I had paid for after being told they would be brought out front for me, which they were not. So out of 4 employees I dealt with, only 1 of them was friendly and smiling. 2 were literaly refusing to tell me what was going on. and 1 was competent but failed to follow through on the actions he said he would take care of. Out of several staff members, only two demonstrated professionalism and ability to serve the Public in a Knowledgeable, Courteous & Efficient manner. Also, access to the storage building is extremely difficult. One cannot even turn vehicles around. There is improper ingress & egress for vehicles. No space on property. I needed to open a new storage unit and the team was unhelpful at every interaction. To try to open the unit early we went to the facility and arrived 30 minutes before close to open the unit. We were told over the phone we would be able to do this and drove 45 minutes to the facility to be told that we can't open a new unit 1 hour before close. Then when we did come back to open the unit, we were forcefully sold a lock when the new unit had a lock provided to us included and the lock we already had come with was a Uhaul lock as well.Hayley H. | First Impressions

The only concern that I have personally is I arrived and secured a storage unit I arrived 2 and a 1/2 hours before the drop off Is scheduled for 1:15 PM and I was charged for the additional day even though I was on the premises and the trailer was empty.Anthony R. | First Impressions
I had to use storage for long term things and some items I needed to access regularly. However on 3 times I would make plans and would need to access my storage unit during the times it’s supposed to be accessible and I could not get into the building due to technical difficulties and could also not get ahold of the manager (number to call on door for problems-) no answer ever! Probably not an issue for everyone but that’s a big issue for me!
