I am VERY happy with the service at the desk and in the garage. The installer discovered that my car already had the wiring harness installed, which saved me $128. A less scrupulous shop could easily just charged me for it, rather that tell me it was already there. The installation was done professionally and quickly. I'll tell all my family and friends. It seemed no one wanted to take the trailer even the U-Hail dedicated location where we were told to take the trailer. App was on and off when I tried to check in. Location of vehicle identified on app was not coorect. I had to walk around the lot to find the vehicle. Wrong key was put in the lock box. so I had to go inside. Had to wait for someone to help me as no one was in the building. When I finally got the truck, the ignition key did not work on the driver side door to unlock. Was a problem when I locked the door to go to lunch and came back to open up. Fortunately the passenger side door unlocked with the key. The key for the lock on the roll up door was missing. I have used this location a number of time and never a problem until now. I was called at 8:30 pm the night before my move was scheduled. I had hired movers for the next morning. I was told my reservation could not be honored. The truck I reserved was not available. A smaller truck was available at a location many miles farther than the one I placed my reservation at. When I picked up the smaller truck I was told the appliance dolly I reserved was also not available. I did not get everything moved in the time I had paid for the movers and had to move all the rest of it in my SUV after I got off work for the next few evenings. I will never use Uhaul again.Sein H.
Was told the truck I rented had a flat tire snd the other trucks must be returned to Asheville and that I needed to have someone come pick me up and drive 45 minutes to Brevard to get a truck. I rearranged everything at significant inconvenience to get a truck that I could return to Asheville with the guarantee that I would only be charged mileage one way since that was what my reservation was for. I just got my bill and I was charged mileage both ways and safe move charge for extra days due to the fact that you could not honor my one way reservation. AJ at this location was condescending and most unhelpful. There was a new employee whose name that I wish I could remember that was sympathetic snd tried to help. The only downside was that the crew hadn't gotten the truck ready by pickup time and, with a tight schedule, I was behind time in my move. However, they were thorough, courteous, and the equipment was in tip-top shape.DANIEL T.
Horrible service. We were told by the lady at the counter that no trucks were available for one way. That all the truck on the lot were local only. So, she reserved us one at another location. On the way to the other location Madison from the Hickory, NC office called to let me know that the location at 311 Sardis Rd. in Asheville, NC was closed but I would be able to access the truck vis mobile App. When we arrived the truck was no where to be found. Once located the truck was not ready to be rented, it was still full of someone else's belongings. There was no way to contact the owner of that location. Once that owner was contacted by a phone number on the fence of the adjoining storage facility, he (Andrew) said that there was nothing that he could do, too bad. So, I called the Hickory call center back and talked to Chloe (very helpful) and she worked with me to figure out a solution. She found that there was two trucks at the Sweeten Creek location for one way (when I had been told by the lady at that location that there was not). Chloe was able to switch my reservation to one of those trucks at the Sweeten Creek location. When we arrived we talked to the same lady that we had just dealt with an hour before and she didn't remember us or have a clue what was going on. The the guy behind the counter got very rude, we were able to get the key from him and I was able to check out using the mobile site.Josh L.

On the pick up end, communication could have been better. My box should have been delivered Monday July 14, but I did not get it until 2 days later. The time for delivery was vague so I had to wait all day all day. Then pick up was not communicated well either. The crew just showed up, without any advance warning. I'd had the box for less than a day when the crew returned to get the box. The delivery on the Ft Collins, CO end went 100% smoothly with good communication and perfect box placement. So overall I am happy with the process, except for lack of good timing and good communication on the puck up (Asheville NC) portion.Leigh Anne S.
I had an issue checking into my storage unit and dropping off my truck rental. The internet was down but I recognize that is beyond anyone’s control. I have rented from this location before. The equipment is usually well maintained and clean. I made a switch to a smaller truck which had been just dropped off so it had not been cleaned yet. When I picked up trailer on sweeten Creek Road Asheville the help left before helping hook up trailer. The lights were crap luckily I found another uhaul store in Winston Salem who fixed us up and got us going again. Also when you ask online where you want to pick up Equiptment how about sticking to it, I had to drive 1 hour in the other direction then an hour back to load up. When I picked up the truck it had zero gas. Part of the checkout process requires me to document with a picture. I put gas in it and completed my project and returned the truck with slightly more than empty. During the check in process also required me to take a picture and indicate the gas level which I did. They then charged me close to $70 dollars for a fuel fee because they said I can't return it with less gas than I started, which I clearly did not. It's documented in pictures!MICHAEL M.

I never received any notification whether my pod was coming on the correct day unless I sat on hold with customer service for 2 hours and waited for them to figure out if it was coming or I contacted the driver, then to find out I was supposed to be contacted ahead of time by them and never was, then the pod didn't show up when it was supposed to. They drove by your place on sweeten....it was a great alternative. Probably better and safer then the original choice. I changed my return reservation to this location due to the friendliness of the staff and how the facility appeared while researching online compared to other facilities. When dealing with staff at my pick up location, it was a horrible experience and if I hadn't needed to use their service, I would have walked out and I have rented from uhual SEVERAL times in the past. The truck had issues and had a gas issue. It cost me over $1,100 in gas to drive 3200 miles in a 20ft truck which is completely unheard of. I have made this trip several times and NEVER had the issues I had this time. Pick up staff didn't care about the truck and it's gas (and break) issues and hung up on me. The staff here, though they couldn't do anything to change what happened on the west coast, were very sincere and very kind. Their storage units are clean and climate controlled and VERY secure.
